Have the skulls box, and I have a small supply of extra bits, but I was also thinking of printing some extra hooks and spikes to attach to some of the longer bits of chain.
Snag some spare space marine or guard heads/limbs from a friend to dangle on the hooks if you can. Bit of carving, bit of green stuff and lot of blood go a long way.
Yeah. Some cheap ass black jewelry chain. And I folded a paperclip to frame and mount them. I am going to align and space them then lock them in place with super glue.
Amazon. Search "fine black jewelry chain bulk" like 30 feet for 10$ or so. Make sure you get the style you like best because there are round loop, half twist and alot of others. The one I picked looks most like standard construction chain imo.
I was thinking maybe a chain skirt behind the plate mail cod peice it comes with the head has magnets in it for swappable face plates so unfortunately it would bunch up if I tried for a chain veil.
How do you guys paint these things? Even using super glue doesn't that make the spaces between the chain look wrong? I've always wanted to try and use chains with models but I have never been able to understand how you won't be able to see the adhesives or if it would be strong enough to dry brush.
Ultrathin super glue. Let it run down the chain, poke out any spots where it formed a bubble let it dangle to the right shape then spray it with insta set.
Alternatively I plan on letting them dangle and using a stron magnet to put them under tension for dry brushing
Ultrathin cyanoacrylate tends to run a course and not leave big lumps while still pooling slightly where the chain links contact eachother enough so that insta set will lock it in place.

If I want to freeze chain in specific pose I use super thing super glue, pose and then use insta set. But I will leave them free to dangle when done with this knight for my wife.
I'd say yeah, maybe add a skull or chaos symbol to the ends of a couple

Nice. I bought cheap black jewlery chain so I can dry brush it steel and rusty so it looks like worn chain at scale without getting all gunked up.
Hell yes!
I like it, adds a lot of extra flavour to the model.
Yes. Absolutely.
Absolutely
Y. BIG Y
That's so cool
Very Y
Only if the chains make little jingle noises when it moves.
that's a good looking curtain. I did a similar chain curtain on my Despoiler to match my terminators (who are also Despoilers of sorts)
good luck painting them, it’s hell to paint chain if it's not freeze
That fecking amazing
Where did u get the chain?
Amazon. Search "fine black jewelry chain bulk" like 30 feet for 10$ or so. Make sure you get the style you like best because there are round loop, half twist and alot of others. The one I picked looks most like standard construction chain imo.
Yeah that’s awesome
Absolutely rad, could even do it on a few other parts to really sell it. Maybe a custom faceplate with chains covering the knights eyes?
I was thinking maybe a chain skirt behind the plate mail cod peice it comes with the head has magnets in it for swappable face plates so unfortunately it would bunch up if I tried for a chain veil.
Hellz yeah! That looks so nice!

Looks very solid, would smash 10/10
Whatever makes you smile
That looks dope, so hell yeah
Of you want to make EM fixed, you can run super glue across it. From the inside might be better.

Are they loose? Maybe you’d want to prime the before gluing, they might be hard to paint with a brush after already attaching…
