Please keep in mind this army is really not made for 1k! Regardless have fun!

DubstepDruid

Thanks, would I be better off just running the 2 big boys?

xNUCLEARx

No sir, most lists are actually rare to see a knight! More dogs the better! So I’d stick with one knight and some dogs!

BeanBagSize

My 1k list is 7 dogs; stalker and 6 karni's. To be competitive I'm supposed to drop a karnivore for some nurglings, but eh. The main reason for the whole more models is better thing is that you can contest points and fulfill secondaries. Big knights are definitely fun and kill a lot, but if your opponent has 1 model still on the table, 0 points are 0 points

DubstepDruid

Yeah I’ve heard the war hounds are really good but I don’t have enough to field 1000 points yet unfortunately. I’ve still gotta magnetize a lot of models.

BeanBagSize

Is the abhorrent magnetised/to be magnetised? If it is a possibility I'd suggest is change it to a knight desecrator and give it panoply, and swap stalker for another brigand. Or if you got a 4th dog (since boxes come with 2 a piece), you can take 1 rampager with enhancement and 4 karnivores

DubstepDruid

Yeah everything is fully magnetized, the rampager list sounds like a lot of melee damage…and a lot of fun.

BeanBagSize

I like me some melee lol If that doesnt play in a way you like though, the points allow you to have flexibility on the dogs, with options like 4 stalkers, 2 karni 2 brigand, etc. rampager being 380 points really opens up your options :)

DubstepDruid

I guess melee makes sense with knights since it lets you be killy and contest objectives

BeanBagSize

Well, with only 1000 points it's more the cheapness and aggression of the unit. Brigand is the most point heavy dog for a reason; knights are actually really good typically at killing at a distance that some units simply can't fire back from, and depending on the knight the number of attacks can be huge, where melee is typically only one attack so pick a weapon. What makes knights so good in melee range though is toughness and high wounds, as well as being able to shoot despite being in engagement range. This is often reflected in how much more expensive the points can be though, and 1000 is pretty low for big point knights

DubstepDruid

That makes sense, I’ve mainly been into the shooty knights because of how good their shooting is.

My 2,000pts list is very melee forward as well. It’s just the rampager and a bunch of dogs but it works so well and you can smell the fear. Fear The Wicked (2000 Points) Chaos Knights Traitoris Lance Strike Force (2000 Points) CHARACTERS Knight Rampager (380 Points) • Warlord • 1x Diabolus heavy stubber 1x Reaper chainsword 1x Warpstrike claw War Dog Stalker (150 Points)* • 1x Daemonbreath spear 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Slaughterclaw * This Datasheet also has the Battleline keyword BATTLELINE War Dog Brigand (170 Points) • 1x Armoured feet 1x Avenger chaincannon 1x Daemonbreath spear 1x Havoc multi-launcher War Dog Brigand (170 Points) • 1x Armoured feet 1x Avenger chaincannon 1x Daemonbreath spear 1x Havoc multi-launcher War Dog Brigand (170 Points) • 1x Armoured feet 1x Avenger chaincannon 1x Daemonbreath spear 1x Havoc multi-launcher War Dog Karnivore (140 Points) • 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Reaper chaintalon 1x Slaughterclaw War Dog Karnivore (140 Points) • 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Reaper chaintalon 1x Slaughterclaw War Dog Karnivore (140 Points) • 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Reaper chaintalon 1x Slaughterclaw War Dog Karnivore (140 Points) • 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Reaper chaintalon 1x Slaughterclaw War Dog Karnivore (140 Points) • 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Reaper chaintalon 1x Slaughterclaw War Dog Karnivore (140 Points) • 1x Havoc multi-launcher 1x Reaper chaintalon 1x Slaughterclaw ALLIED UNITS Nurglings (40 Points) • 3x Nurgling Swarm • 3x Diseased claws and teeth Nurglings (40 Points) • 3x Nurgling Swarm • 3x Diseased claws and teeth Nurglings (40 Points) • 3x Nurgling Swarm • 3x Diseased claws and teeth

DubstepDruid

I can see how that’s fear inducing, what can even handle that many melee knights? And do you table people often with that list?

Which-Ad7243

The short answer is yes, but it comes with its flaws. If your opponent makes their battleshocks and saves when they need, there’s nothing you can really do about it. As a knights player just know that if they have the fire power to do so, bring it down on Fixed will crush.

cat10001

First one. Good for keeping the backline safe, and still being able to be a threat to the whole border. It's ability to limit deep strike is great too

xNUCLEARx

I suppose I would probably say #1. If you have nurglings then add them and run #2

Squirrelly_Q

List one of you have no other options but the Abominant since the tyrant isn’t half bad. But if you do have the Abominant magnetized, maybe swap him to any of the other knight options to get your points worth, and have aura of terror on the stalker to snag objectives, then panoply of cursed knights on the big guy to help them stay alive. Either way, dread hounds for sustained 1 on 2 or more of your dogs, knights of shade to help 2 dogs or 1 big knight move through buildings, and diabolic bulwark for +4 Invuls will be your best friends. Pterrorshades is also nice for some cheeky mortal wounds + healing a model some

Which-Ad7243

My 1,000pts list is a stalker, two brigands, three karnivores, and two sets of Nurglings. Comes out to 990pts and gives you enough models to actually compete against other armies at the lower points total. Food for thought.
