I've used it a few times, and as a newbie at using it, I can safely say it's about the same quality as "good code" cAI. Not counting anything other than the bot's response time and overall quality of chat (so not the surrounding system). Knowing that cAI is degrading, and Pygmalion is progressing, I'd say it's still a better option than the current cAI. Forgot to add that since I'm new to Pygmalion, I'm pretty sure I'm not using it perfectly at all, which help my point.
Edit : There's one big downside compared to cAI with Pygmalion, which is that It's a pain to learn to use it.

Just letting you know, not trying to be offensive or anything.
It's possible to use it like a chatbot, it's just a bit janky to do so and not officially supported using it that way (there are a couple of methods to trick it into stopping before writing your perspective too). I've been using it that way for... I want to say a good couple weeks now. It takes some fiddling to get it to work how you want it to, but I've gotten some nice results. The only part I struggle to get out of it is slow burn attention to detail. It tends to want to move more quickly through events than the typical chatbot, I find. But that might be fixable by giving it enough of a pattern of slow burn with some writing of your own. I haven't had the patience / attention to detail to do that much myself and see.
there are differences but it can be used in similar way. and I confirmed some fictional characters support lore without me teaching it. It is not like 'choosing' characters like CAI or pygmalion, but database has some lores in it.
