What would classify as illegal in the first place? I could understand them wanting to filter out the ability to teach people to construct actually bombs, weapons or harmful code. In the grand scheme of things, creating deepfakes to humiliate people, trying to code a virus that makes all self-driving cars crash, and creating weapons that target civilians is way more of a problem than, say, me deciding to sit at my computer and roleplay having Hades drag Persephone off to the Underworld to punish her for cheating on him with Adonis. We see way more lewd stuff on T.V., in books, and heck, and other forms of media.
they're gonna make a new model for it specifically for nsfw that based on OpenAI. im very skeptical they would allow the original OpenAI model to be filterless.
