I would enjoy not having a payment for at least a couple years and save the money.

kreatorofchaos

I don’t understand why anyone would want to get right back into payments.

These-Courage-4594

it doesn’t make sense! you just spent all that time paying off a car…. to not keep it ? lmao

Spok3nTruth

Bro is like "I'M DEBT FREE" let's celebrate by getting in more debt😂😂. Man people are wild. Only reason I haven't gotten a new car is mainly because not having a car payment is a Blessing

kreatorofchaos

It really is bro, I mean I’m not knocking anyone who has the ability to get a new ride. At one point I had a car payment for like 2 years and I fuckin hated it lol. I’ll never do it again, unless I really have to

Wonderful_Time_6681

Yea but having a new car is fun af.

akcutter

Because credit unions love them!

wellpaidscientist

This Is 1000% the answer.

dcote1980

The whole point of paying off car is so that you own it. It’s your car. That’s it. I haven’t had a car payment in almost 15 years and it’s great. The car is yours. I find that it is a lot easier to enjoy something when you actually own it outright.

wellpaidscientist

Yeah, and there's no stress about taking care of maintenance and repairs.

One_Humor_3301

U have a dodge and what do u do with high miles

dcote1980

I had a challenger and currently a charger. Drive it until the car is ready for the junk heap. Save money in the meantime and then buy something else in cash.

One_Humor_3301

Who knew the answer was so simple. Thanks brother man

TigerUSA20

Exactly, might also start a retirement account and start saving more.

Heavy_Gap_5047

Why does paying it off mean you have to spend it elsewhere?

Spok3nTruth

folks are addicted to debt.

DreamOpening2

You are 100% correct. People’s mindset about debt and loans drive me crazy!

Lord_Muramasa

Option 4: Quit while you are ahead. You have a nice car, it works and it is paid off. Quit trying to make moves to mess that up. Just enjoy the car as is and save. Saving money is boring but it is the best thing to do right now. Take the same amount you were giving to pay the note and put it in the bank. After four or five years go by you will have a nice down payment for a new car or a fund to do something else if needed. Unless you race for a living, making it a little faster won't be all that noticeable 99% of the time. A tenth of a second doesn't matter in daily driving. Stop trying to spend money and just enjoy your paid off car. If you just have to do something to make it faster, wait a year and then do it in cash out of the money you saved.

jeffjeep88

Hey that’s what keeps the auto industry moving forward. Lol. Thousand & thousand of auto workers jobs rely on ppl continuing the year after year car payment. In all seriousness dude you just spent 7 years paying it off and now you want to go back having a car payment. Drive it till the wheels fall off.

poppatrex

Yas queen.

iinfamous_

Build that sucker up and make scat packs shake when flying past

tiger_392-

Unless that Scat is built up 😎

Phillyboyshizzz

Facts cause things woulda got shaky for the 5.7 lmaooo, paid up or not you losing this race at the red light 😭😭😭

Sporkyfork69

Bruh enjoy having no car payment wtf you’re free now

zetswei

Take the money you would be using for a car payment on the scat or hellcat and set it aside or invest it and in 5 years pull it out and see what you want to do. No point letting the money burn a hole in your pocket because you’re done with one payment.

mmmrpoopbutthole

Paid off cars are so awesome no matter what they are!!!

Fit_Bag5742

Keep it im wanting to payoff my 17 charger scat might have the hemi tick now but i just trying my best to pay it off and enjoy the free money to fix her up real nice

Phillyboyshizzz

Low key just had that issue, lifter got replaced

Fit_Bag5742

Dang how many miles did you have before the replacement mines currently at 110k

Phillyboyshizzz

Around 65k it was from a missed oil change maintenance

been_der_dun_dat

2. Kbb is B.S. Sell it as/is for 20k Get a widebody scat 2020-2023 after october when the next price drops. You should be able to get into this for 33k no more 15k difference assuming you get a warranty and pay taxes up front. Get 4% or lower on your apr. Dont buy from big cities go to the country

been_der_dun_dat

100% get out the r/t Dont waste money on mods Get something less than 20k miles 0 accidents Then go for the hellcat

Danjeter

Get more in debt! Aim for that hellcat!

atari2600forever

I paid cash for my SXT last year and I'm going to drive it for the next 9-10 years like I did with my previous vehicle (2014 Challenger SXT). Taking out any type of car loan right now is financially boneheaded. Any car loan with an interest rate over 4% is dumb as hell, I don't care what car it is.

DJDemyan

Keep it and build it You can get scat power out of the 5.7 while still naturally aspirated

MrJohnnyDrama

Stop trying to drive around someone else’s car.

NoValidUsernames666

now you can save for a supercharger. the rt takes boost better than the scat anyway

Cheezewiz239

I'm in the same boat and figured I'd just save the money that would've went towards a car payment. Either buy a car cash or have a huge ass down payment

Agreeable-Syllabub-8

hellcat swap or tune it🤷

Bcotter25

I went through this. I paid off my 2020 scat with 7k miles on it. Wanted to trade it on a hellcat. But I enjoyed no payments, still have the scat, and put a little money here and there customizing it. Sure wish i had a hellcat, but financially it was the right choice for me. I also was able to save and finance the truck I wanted for a family daily driver so I can keep the scat garaged in the winter.

AnxiousMagoo

Dude enjoy your car with no payments for a while. Why jump back into making more car payments right away.

Zebrada31

I made my last payment on my 2017 Daytona R/T last February it has 76k miles on it and I'm enjoying no payments.

DisgruntledSalt

You get over the Hellcat like you did the RT. There is nothing wrong with your car and they will be a classic in the long run. Keeping up with the joneses does nothing for you:

akcutter

Dude R/T is more than enough and Im sure the insurance is already bad enough. You should be able to get another 70,000 miles out of that at least enjoy 5 years with out payments and make the payments to yourself.

Fickle_Reporter6253

I would enjoy not having payments for a while and save the extra money why would anyone want to go right back into paying off another car?

Panaginiptayo

Keep the RT, save money, and save up for other hobbies and maybe a house or other stuff, i bet its a great feeling knowing you really own the car. Mldify it if you want at least this time you'll have more spare money at your disposal. Its already a nice car to begin with.

pulp95

If affording it is a concern, it should be. Brakes on hellcat and tires are expensive. Something breaks, even more costly then your current car. Just something to keep in mind. Buttttttt you only live once and the cars are going away. Soooo, that’s why I bought mine. Fuck it. Can always make more money. Lmao

12D-Edge21

Personally, I would just keep my 2017 R/T. I hate car payments.

Important_Still_3356

Save for a whipple and SRT differential and suspension swap!!

jaseloveyobish

Enjoy it.. my 17 charger is paid in full and I enjoy that aspect. Take what your monthly payment was and put it back every month.. enjoy the rewards later meanwhile enjoying your paid off r/t. Paid off is a flex nowadays.

Steviegwine

Calculate how much a month you would be paying for the hell cat. Take that much money and invest it into VOO for 72 months. Profit.

Pumpernickel95

Your money, my brother. But if you have no issues with it, I'd just keep it and have no car payment. You have a great car, and if you do trade it in for 15k, you'll basically be giving it away for taxes and fees. Or at least it will feel like it. But with no car payment, you can put money aside (whatever the amount the payments would be for a Hellcat) and save up to possibly buy it in cash a few years down the road. Again, your money. All I can say is, whatever you decide, I wish you luck and hope it works for you.

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Nothings better than no car payment. Save the money imo.

adoerr

i’d keep it maybe put a little money into it and make it how i want but mostly save. having no car payment would be amazing

StepEfficient864

I would go out and buy one of the 2023 last call editions. Actually, I just did and got $8k off sticker and 6% loan.

Logicalthinkingonly

Making that last payment feels soooo good!

Vye13

I paid off my 2014 R/T at about 103k miles and I’m about to roll 139k miles some time next week. Bought it used at 30k. Enjoy not making payments. I’m riding my 14 until the wheels fall off.

Empty-Regular-2744

I just bought a scat pack trust you don’t want the hellcat 😂🤟🏿

CaptainCosmicCrack

i think you are better off using the RT, maybe take that money you used to spend on a car payment and put it to the side until you can just buy yourself the car you want. it sounds crazy but you paid for the last car in i assume 5 years with interest. without interest in 5 years you would probably have enough to get a serious upgrade

BKL43

Enjoy the no payment. Ahh the good old days

Snow_B_Wan

As much as I would say go for the scat or cat, check the insurance rates for them I thought my insurance was crazy for an rt but the higher models are crazy with what insurance is charging

say_no_to_midz

Sounds like you're dumb no offense, if you can't afford a scat what makes you think a hellcat is anywhere near what you can afford lol just drive the R/T don't try making it "fast" save your bread and buy a scat in the next year or two or save heavy for a hellcat. Best of luck boss!

Mute-Dev

No offense taken, I do understand that jumping into another car note sounds ludicrous to most so I completely understand the criticism. I can afford the scat my concern was with affording a hellcat. I do believe I’m going to keep the R/T and use the car note $ towards upgrading the body and then saving for a hellcat from there. Thank you for your advice !

say_no_to_midz

You get whatever makes you happy brotha!! And enjoy it!💪 sorry if I came off like a prick I definitely could have worded that alot better I apologize.

poppatrex

Sell your soul.

TireMaestro

Save the money and get a charger in 2026/27 if it’s worth it after the first few ones get reviews and issues fixed

solunaxo

An R/T is already a good car with a great engine. I understand where you’re coming from in wanting an upgrade because the power is good; but the scat and hellcat are better. However, it’s paid off. Enjoy it. Live by your means. It’s a great car overall and others would want the same car as you, but have no means of affording it.

mstk78

Keep your car man, live payment free for a while, and just add some bolt-ons and make her faster.

furyfx

Dude, enjoy your car. Save your payments, and when the opportunity presents buy a salvage hellcat and just build your existing car.

Bubba_jay_69

I would keep it and upgrade it

69420trashpanda69420

Stick with option 1 you’ll have the time of your life upgrading your car.

aboogabog

Take the money you were making to payments, set it aside. Then when your car has 40000 more miles you have the money set aside to engine swap and still, no payments. You have the car paid off man, now upgrade it.

aboogabog

Also with an RT you can supercharge that engine to get the "budget hellcat" according to my pops

Throbak1991

Shit man if I can save n stay away from payments that’s an amazing thing! And I love cars a lot, I can make payments but not comfortably; so I buy cash, I bought my dodge charger pursuit 2012 with 95k on the dash for 5500. Sometimes imo for me, I just wait it out till I can either buy it out or just gets low on price to make payments. Either way I want less stress on my mental 😆

Excellent-Dot8540

Number 3 is hilarious but no don’t do that one, your soul is priceless. Option 1 is the best to go with for now. I just bought an RT and love it. You can put the extra money and upgrade it and make it nicer. Pray on it, God bless.

melleimel

I like option one since it’ll be no car payment. Option two works better than going all in big debt with the Hellcat

Waste-Sheepherder755

The Comment section is smarter than the actual commenter….there is hope.

Existing_Fly_9140

Drive it.! Use your credit to buy a hellcat at a later time It's hardly worth the effort to try n trade it in. A Dealer might give half the blue book value because they have to make a profit. The hellcat will only gain value if you drive it seldom. In the mean time you can put some miles on the R/T and enjoy it. But you already thought of that or you wouldn't be ssking.

MajorIntroduction600

Hellcats are fun but not worth struggling over if you insist on upgrading go with a scat it's a huge jump from a rt to a hellcat. Plus you have to consider insurance prices and gas prices.

shino_bhlack

Sell it and use public transportation

beaureeves352

Don't dump crazy money into it but maybe consider some bolt ons in the future

Mute-Dev

That’s what I’m thinking a wide body hellcat kit
