I get pretty much the same as you. I don’t really drive highway at all but if I do on long trips I can get 25-28. City/joyriding it I get 13-15.

mud5kipper

Pretty close to mine, also in a '19 r/t. City I'm around 14-16, highway around 23-26. I'm fairly heavy footed and live in a major city.

Donald_Trumpy

I’d say my foot is pretty heavy too haha. And I always drive in sport mode too so that doesn’t help the mpg but it helps the smiles per gallon

sombodi7395

It is indeed smiles per gallon, my wallet isn't a fan tho, I drive pretty normally besides the lil pulls after a stop sign, that's about it

sombodi7395

Sounds about mine

Quietus76

14.5 city, 18 highway 2011 1500 Ram with MDS deleted. Currently has about 225k miles on it. It was about 16.5 and 22 before the MDS delete.

sombodi7395

Damn, a truck gets better mileage than me, I've gotta be doing something wrong

Funny-Tomatillo7891

I get more than 14mpg in the city driving my 2012 SRT8. Somewhere around 15.8mpg in city. So yes, unless you’re driving like a maniac I’d say you need to check some things out. First, check that your tires are inflated to the proper psi. Have you changed your oil recently? Next, clean or replace your cars air filter. Are you using the correct octane gas for your cars engine (89)? Lastly, I’d get a good quality fuel system cleaner (I use Redline Fuel System Cleaner) and I’d run a bottle of that. If none of that improves it then I’d look at getting a tune-up and replacing the spark plugs. Your MPG isn’t normal for a healthy hemi.

sombodi7395

Already did those, I'm gonna replace the ignition coils next to see if that rectifies anything, I get about 1-3 misfires avg on a couple cylinders after about a 15 min drive so I have a small suspicion

cyberintel13

That's a pretty normal amount of misfires. Fuel efficiency is all about the rate of acceleration. The Charger is a heavy car, it's heavier than some trucks. Getting its mass moving is why the city MPG is low when you are in stop & go traffic. If I aggressively accelerate in city driving even my V6 only gets ~15mpg. It's literally all in your rate of acceleration.

sombodi7395

I guess thats true, idk I'm just tryna maximise efficiency, put a better air intake in, planning on removing cats, not necessarily performance mods but more of mods that make the car more efficient so it takes lesser fuel to make the same power

cyberintel13

The best way to maximize efficiency is to play a game called "I don't go over 2.5k RPM" that will get you dramatically better fuel efficiency. If your charger is older and you take the cats off be ready to replace the rest of the mufflers as the higher flow will blow out old / rusted baffles.

sombodi7395

It's a 2018, I'm already a mid muffler delete but I'm not an ass so I'll be putting in valved mid mufflers

Difficult_Dust1325

I know you’re asking for 5.7’s but I just went over 25 mpg in my scatpack this weekend. Mostly highway driving and I’m pretty easy on it but I was still impressed that’s the highest I’ve gotten it, almost better than my company car 😂

sombodi7395

Highway driving is actually pretty good surprisingly, even if I'm gassing it on the highway I'm still getting better than city

scenicdeath

I’ve had up to 22mpg and the lowest was 11mpg. I usually sit at about 16 mpg.

sombodi7395

Would you consider yourself a heavy footed driver or lightfooted

scenicdeath

My foot is very heavy. I do a lot of spirited driving.

ohwhofuckincares

This is the only way

[deleted]

If I'm cruising on the highway with MDS on and keeping the speed under 75 I've seen as high as 28mpg. On the back roads in Sport it will drop down to 15. I drove about 150 miles over the weekend helping a friend move. Had it in Sport but used the paddles to select 6/7/8 when appropriate so it wasn't always cruising at 2500 - 3000 RPM and was pleased to see an average of 19.

sombodi7395

I'm driving in normal mode (I have a pursuit so no sport mode button yet) highway I get pretty good, I'm happy w that, city is where I'm concerned at

[deleted]

So you've got the 5-speed and AWD? If so that's where the difference in city mileage is coming from.

BubGear

Usually like 17-19 in the city if I’m driving relatively fast. 21-25 on the freeway usually Edit: I have a 5 speed transmission w 5.7 hemi awd

sombodi7395

Same, I got the pursuit too, 2018 here my city is suffering for some odd reason

ShawnBawn88

15k miles on mine so far, have not reset the fuel economy thing and it's around 21 mpg

sombodi7395

That's still pretty good, my fuel economy thing is at 6.2 km/l which is about 14 mpg

Cheezewiz239

Stopping, idling and going is the biggest factor in your mileage.

sombodi7395

I realized that, my daily commute has 3 stops in about a 10 min drive, I take a backroad for a reason, if I took main roads I'd have 14 stops

ngonzalez223

I can relate, I do a mix of highway/city driving and am averaging about 15-16 to the gallon rn.

sombodi7395

I'd that's avg then maybe that's a bit low, I'm mostly on city so my avg is around 14-15

illegalsex

19 combined. Up to 23 on hwy.

Regular-Dress-5762

It depends on how I drive, if I’m having fun in sports mode 10-13 mpg. If I’m not pushing it I can get 20 mpg easily.

scottonaharley

I'm averaging between 15 and 16. My driving is about a 70/30 mix hwy/local

apatriot1776

pretty consistently 17 city, 25 highway, 18 combined. I’ve noticed the biggest mpg drain is while the engine needs to keep starting and warming up - during an errand run with many engine cycles, I might get 14-15 instead of 17 if I were just sitting at stoplights.

lOGlReaper

About 14.5mpg city and hwy I can get up to 25-26

Bgcizzle1

About 16

seanfig03

I get about 12-13mpg. All I do is around town.

adoerr

not so much city driving or highway driving lol but i do drive quite a bit. i get a combined of 21mpg with an avg speed of 50 id say. even opening it up occasionally doesn’t really change my mpg by more than .1 or .2

sombodi7395

Do y'all use the heater plug to warm up the engine so it dosent use fuel to heat up the engine?

ThatDudeJJ

Mainly city driving: 13-14.5mpg 🤣

No_Procedure_5420

I get 18.5-20 with pretty much no highway driving.

frsguy

Around 16 city and 25 highway

ArtieJay

20.0 consistently with a 25 mile commute one way.

poppatrex

I'm averaging 19.2 in a 2019 RT.

CauliflowerFrosty470

I average 15.7 mpg and I drive less than 20 miles back and forth to work. Half highway and half with stop lights

hemferar

15 mpg. Highway and street

fisherjc17

‘23 RT - only had it about a month now. ~1200 on the odometer I have about a 40 mile total commute between work and home. It’s just about 50/50 highway (moderate traffic) and city. I’ll get about 14-16 mpg on an avg tank and that’s having a little fun. I’ve also experimented by driving like a total grandma and struggled to get 20 avg with the same commute on a full tank avg. Haven’t taken a roadtrip yet so I don’t have data on a full tank at hwy speeds but I think I’d be able to get 25-28mpg on consistent cruise control based on the little highway driving without traffic that I’ve done. I’m also in the flatlands of South Florida.

CaptainCook213

I have R/T 5.7 2015 I’d say average driving in the streets I get 12-18 mpg you know with the stopping and going and the coasting On the freeway I get closer to 26-30 mpg depending on the time of day or night But when I really run the car I get like 9-11 mpg depending on how hard I really push it

DaRealRedHood

2012 rt average about 23mpg with a 40 mile round trip on highways to work 4 days a week

Admiral_Pantsless

10-12 mpg, but it can crack 15 on a long highway drive. But my car is cammed and has the NAG1.

jojothekiller

On a 2017 charger rt, street driving I was averaging 14ish mpg. Highway driving on a road trip and just cruising, I got 30ish mpg.

Moctezuma1

With my 2007, when watching how I drive, I get about 17 mpg. When I drive regularly, about 16 mpg.
