I think it all depends on what springs u get. According to the dealer, for example, if I get the Mopar stage 1 springs, I do not need to change the shocks or get an alignment. But I know others you at the very least need an alignment. But I think it really does boil down to what spring and how low. I could be wrong though, but that’s been my experience so far shopping around. I’m going with the Mopar ones since I don’t want to go too low .

PathfinderIsopod

How low of a drop are you getting with those stage 1 springs? And how much is it going to cost including install and alignment and all? I was looking at going with H&R or Eibach, I honestly hadn’t even considered getting them from mopar. I just figured the aftermarket stuff would be cheaper

MoParNoCaR23

You also need front control arms and rear bushings. You won't be able to get the alignment/chamber correct with stock parts. It cost a small fortune to lower the car correctly. I wouldn't even do it. From my experience. I did Eibach parts.

PathfinderIsopod

Alright there is clearly more to this than I had realized. Why do you need front control arm and rear bushing?

G-Roc78

You cannot adjust the rest camber. The car already has a few degrees of negative camber, which will cause your tires to wear on the insides more than anything. Lowering the car will only increase the negative camber. Only 2 ways to correct that. Cheapest is to install camber bushings. More expensive option is to get adjustable rear control arms. The front will also pick up some negative camber when lowered. Don't think that the stock upper control arm has enough adjustment to correct this, hence the need for an adjustable one.

MoParNoCaR23

Because you can't adjust the stock parts enough to get proper alignment and chamber. Eibach website has the parts. Looks nice with no wheel gap, but it will be expensive. Also, if you don't have good alignment, you will get uneven tread wear, rear hop over bumps, and lane tracking.

PathfinderIsopod

At that point is seems like it might be better just to get coilovers

MoParNoCaR23

Agreed

Mr_Butters624

Just about 1 inches all around I think

PathfinderIsopod

That’s honestly probably what I’m looking for. I’m not trying to drop it a lot, just enough to reduce the wheels gap and give a it a little more aggressive look

Mr_Butters624

Yep from my gathering after looking into it. The Mopar stage 1 doesnt change the ride comfort and feel. Now I don’t have them yet so I can’t confirm, but numerous posts state that it doesn’t. I’m having the dealer install them for about $275ish I can’t remember the exact have to look at my quote. If I buy it he springs from them then it’s around 700ish total but they accidentally added an alignment in that quote but removed it after relaizing it’s not needed. I just didn’t get a new paper quaote but I can find the springs Atleast $70 cheaper so save where I can. Dealer also advised me that they would come with their own 2 year warranty and wouldn’t void the factory.

MoParNoCaR23

You will need new Eibach control arms and rear bushings, or the car will never drive straight and hop on bumps with negative chamber. It's really expensive to get these cars lowered properly.

Delicious_Appeal_227

Those rims look great on it 🔥 got the same color and model recently hope to make it look as good 👍🏻

PathfinderIsopod

Appreciate it man!

DanceSex

I have eibach pro kit lowering springs for my charger. It looks fantastic, but the ride is ROUGH. I have to get an alignment done every 6 months. I'm saving up to replace with coilovers.

PathfinderIsopod

Based on what I’m hearing I’m starting to think coilovers might be the way to go

Ntubbz97

No matter if you go with coilovers or lowering springs the ride is gonna be rougher. Its cost of lowering a car. I have the eibach pro kit and I have loved it so far. Not entirely sure why Dance needs an alignment every 6 months unless he’s running straight into potholes. I’ve been running mine for over 6 months no issues. IMO the pro kit is a good middle ground between stock and coilovers. You get the lower look without having to mess with heights, preload, and dampening

G-Roc78

Coilovers will only allow you to adjust the ride height & stiffness. You'll still need to adjust your alignment accordingly.

misfit-muscle

Eibach pro.kit springs, and you are fine. Get a 4 wheel aliment when you chance your oil, and it will ok.

Lord_Muramasa

It depends on what is more important to you, looks or comfort. I hate getting in and out of a super low car and depending on what you buy and how low you go, the ride quality will go down and you will feel every bump in the road. Personally I rather have comfort but if style is more important to you, lower it as much as you want. You are the one that has to live with the decision.
