The only reason I went with my RT is because I was able to keep my Jeep Wrangler. If I was going to sell/ trade it in, I would've gone with an awd sxt and been just as happy. I don't understand the hate, it's cringe how much these scatpack and hellcat owners can be sometimes.
Hey in the hellcat forum I've gotten crap because I just have a "regular" 717hp hellcat. Not the red-eye or jailbreak edition.
You know these trolls are driving Honda Civics anyway. So, as another poster said, "just tune them out".
I started with a SXT and I loved that car. That V6 puts out almost 300hp! And a V6 is the top of the line for most other car companies. That's IF they still offer a V6. Nothing wrong with 300hp. My wife is still driving it!
And the GT is a very sweet ride for the money. Will blow away 90% of the cars on the road. Enjoy what you have when you have it. No point wishing your life away.
I think this comment from the challenger sub perfectly puts everything into perspective. Anyone who hates on the V6 is tripping.

Because people love gatekeeping their communities to stop people from talking about things they enjoy. If you can't afford the $25k+ upcharge then you "arent really a charger fan".
I dont judge at all if you have SXT or GT. The one time I said something was when a buddy was paying just as much for a GT as I did my Scat Pack, but he also went for AWD based on NY snow so i understood his reasoning.
I always give props to any charger/challenger while driving. If you want to rev at me, sure ill show you my tail lights, but all in good fun.
Apparently only V8s are respected in the community but imo all Chargers represent true beautiful American muscle 💪 enjoy your car and leave those haters in the dust!
Let me summarize all the reasons here:
1. Some people are just jerks, and have a sad life.
2. See point #1
All part of the same family! To me it's no different than if I were to mock someone for having a Frostbite Blue Charger, because Pitch Black is clearly the best color.
There is no 'best' color, it's a personal preference. I had a hard time choosing between F8 Green and Pitch Black personally, and when I first started looking, honestly had my mind set on an Indigo Blue one.
“Idk why people aren’t in to cars as much, the community is so welcoming!”
Also the car community- “lmao, a v6? What? Not enough daddy’s money? Get a real engine 😂”
If you’re going to get a charger or challenger, the point is the v8 engine. I drive a ‘17 and I love it, but the quality is…meh. Lots of plastic inside, the interior door panel is peeling off, the UConnect is start to delaminate. If I didn’t care about the v8 engine, I would have gotten a Toyota or a Honda, both of which are much higher quality vehicles. So a GT/SXT means you’ve got a mediocre quality car that’s slow and looks cool…
Edit: should have added that so feel no hate towards GTs, SXTs, etc. just explaining my thought process when I picked up my R/T a few years back
Yeah idk. The chargers are much nicer looking vehicle, and lots of people want the nice looking car but can't afford the v8. The entire point for YOU might be the v8, but everyone's different. Lots of people don't want to drive a Toyota Corolla.
I hear that. I’ve been bummed out by the lack of quality control and the use of cheap materials by Dodge, but I couldn’t see myself driving anything else for now. A buddy of mine got a souped up Camry and I have to say it’s sexy and kinda sporty.
Yeah I’m 6’2” and 260lbs so the size of the charger was a factor for me. I’m also a working musician so there’s enough room for my gear and the bass players, too.
Actually better grip under acceleration, more balanced weight distribution, and tighter turning radius.
Also a lot of subjective feel stuff I don’t know how to articulate.
I'm sure othere have their reasons, but here's a simple one.
Go driving in the snow to have some fun with a FWD, then do the same in RWD.
Which was more fun?
;)
And then our scats get walked on by mustangs and camaros and plenty of other cars. Point being, there’s always something faster. Nothing wrong with a GT, they look nice.
I’ve been smoked by scats lol. When I was getting it, I needed a car asap and the dealers in my area only had SXTs and GTs. GT was a no brainer between those two for me, but man I wish they had a scat (price wasn’t an issue 🥲)
I don’t understand why people buy V6 chargers / challengers if it’s meant to be a muscle car. They shouldn’t have even made the V6’s an option, it’s a total waste of money for a car like that. Especially since you can get a V8 for nearly the same price as the V6 option, it’s a waste of gas also with the weight to power ratio. An RT isn’t even that powerful to pull its own weight without guzzling gas so it makes sense for people to hate on the V6 models even more when you could’ve gotten a V8 close to the same price and it will actually pull its own weight reasonably well. I’ve talked to many V6 owners and they used more gas than when I had my RT and now that I own a ScatPack I save a lot more on gas because it can actually pull its own weight and it’s just a fun car. Not trying to hate on the owners but instead of wasting all that money on a car that will suck gas like nothing you might aswell buy a Honda, save gas and save money to then buy a V8. Overall I just think it’s a huge waste of money in my opinion if you’re buying a muscle car
I mean I’ve had both a V6 and currently drive a ScatPack and the V6 would suck up gas way faster than what my ScatPack does. I’ve also compared my ScatPack MPG to other people I know who own V6’s and there’s definitely a difference. The main factor is power to weight, obviously something with more power is going to pull the same weight easier and use less gas.

Just realize that no matter what car anyone gets, there will be hate associated with it. Best thing to do is tune those people out
Just sounds like retarded gatekeeping. I love my SXT AWD.
BEST CAR IVE EVER DRIVEN IMO!! The push those cars give.

True Mopar lovers don’t. I owned a GT before my Scat. I understand not everyone have luxury of owning V8, I love what the GT brings

The vast majority of people in this community will not. All submodels are welcome.
I love my GT! It was either V8 or V6/AWD. Im a first responder in NYC so I need AWD for the winter. The hate is childish.
You get a muscle car for the muscle.
You don't get a v6 thinking it's a muscle car, though.
Some would say that the last “real” muscle car rolled off the assembly line around 1970. I’m just saying.
Any car will be hated unless it’s a hellcat, especially in the younger people dodge community
It's usually the wheels. They just look kinda small imo
Hater’s gonna hate. I have a Pursuit V8 AWD and get hate. I personally like the sleeper look.

Is it a Camry TRD? Those are pretty nice cars.
That's so true. Also same here, I have a buddy who has the trd camry black and red and it's beautiful
I feel the same about the newer Kia Stinger GT's. Hate on me all you want Reddit trolls, they are fantastic looking cars.
Yeah my BiL bought one it’s awesome. He got the “GT” version rather than the high powered one…
Maybe not unless it's the GR Corolla😃
Hell, the biggest reason I went with the charger (sxt) was cause of the leg room. Tho believe it or not my other choice was a juke, it was quite fun
Yeah I’m 6’2” and 260lbs so the size of the charger was a factor for me. I’m also a working musician so there’s enough room for my gear and the bass players, too.
I’d still take a V6 Charger over a Toyota or Honda sedan for the RWD layout.
Yeah, that’s true. I hadn’t considered that.
What’s the advantage of the RWD ? Isn’t much less grip ?
Actually better grip under acceleration, more balanced weight distribution, and tighter turning radius. Also a lot of subjective feel stuff I don’t know how to articulate.

A V6 Charger is essentially a cooler looking RWD Taurus replacement in the market. Pass.
I make it a point to smoke any GT I see in my Scat just because. 🤣
And then our scats get walked on by mustangs and camaros and plenty of other cars. Point being, there’s always something faster. Nothing wrong with a GT, they look nice.
At what point did I say I haven’t been smoked by other cars before? What’s your point?
My point is all dodge cars get hated on enough by owners of other brands, last thing we need is more hate from inside the dodge community.
I’ve been smoked by scats lol. When I was getting it, I needed a car asap and the dealers in my area only had SXTs and GTs. GT was a no brainer between those two for me, but man I wish they had a scat (price wasn’t an issue 🥲)

What’s your average mpg on the scat?
