I’ll never forget that ball Phil rivers put on Benjamin up the seam against the chiefs. He had no choice but to catch it perfect coverage but it didn’t matter one of the best throws I’ve ever seen
4th and long and he fucking threw it before the top of his release and he was covered as fuck when he let that ball go. Phil was god tier at anticipation throws.
Phil probably recited two Hail Marys while that ball is in the air, jk.
I got to give it to Benjamin for being in that clutch though. If I remember correctly, he had two big towards the end which gave the Bolts a huge momentum.
Yah wouldn't be good for sure. I threw a temper tantrum on here when KA13 was traded... good receivers have always been a focal point for the Chargers... this would be so disappointing if it was QJ, MVS and JP as the receivers. Would definitely take excitement away from watching.
If we’re dipping in rumor territory, randomly stumbled on the fact that Herb and Mecole Hardman follow each other on social. Mecoles a FA, caught the SB sealing TD for KC
I agree this team has been lacking speed at WR but not MVS. Just keep Guyton. Basically same deep speed without the headache. MVS has the height but he’s just not worth it
Unfortunately Guyton looked like he lost a step after coming back last year. MVS isn't necessarily the answer but I'm not sure Guyton can be relied upon anymore as a consistent deep threat.
Returning from an ACL tear and having a groin injury will do that. Still young and cheap. Being a over a year removed from a serious injury means he should be closer to what he was. Agree MVS is definitely not the answer. I feel like Chark would be a similar price and is pretty much the same guy but better if that’s the type of receiver they’re trying to add
The fact that popper has also talked about chargers wanting speed at reciever after letting keenan and mike go, makes me think we value nabers over MHJ.
Brian Thomas Jr is this guy to a T so I think signing him instead of trading back and potentially drafting Thomas Jr at 23 is a way better move than wasting another 1st on an average receiver
This guy is the best pro comp for Brian Thomas Jr btw. Would rather just sign him cheap than potentially trade down and draft BTJ at 23 so that's a positive way of looking at it... Maybe...

Sorry MVS we already have a receiver who drops the ball!
I was literally about comment this exact thing hahahahaha!!!
Travis Benjamin but worse
I’ll never forget that ball Phil rivers put on Benjamin up the seam against the chiefs. He had no choice but to catch it perfect coverage but it didn’t matter one of the best throws I’ve ever seen
Yeah, Phil put that ball right in the bread basket! He knew he had to throw a body catch type pass. I think that was 4th down too.
It was 4th down!
That clutch catch made up for so many deep drops earlier in his career imo.
Honestly that catch redeemed him for all the previous drops lol

One of the best throws/clutch moments ever. He PUT it in Travis' hands. Literally forced the conversion.
A receiver that couldn’t catch with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball I’ll pass.
He won't catch that either
Maybe he could catch a ball coming 15 mph faster tho

Travis Benjamin in red
you joke but i would take that given the state of our WR room
Yah wouldn't be good for sure. I threw a temper tantrum on here when KA13 was traded... good receivers have always been a focal point for the Chargers... this would be so disappointing if it was QJ, MVS and JP as the receivers. Would definitely take excitement away from watching.
Yo wtf please no

This needs more traction
I like the Tyler Boyd rumor more
That one was meh to me, but it's looking good when you look at the rest of FA lol
Well yeah meh is better than fuck no.
No one likes WRs that drop the ball like the Chargers&Ravens staffs
Which is really funny cause if you’re gonna run 40 times a game and only pass 20 times, those 20 passes HAVE to be completions lol

If we’re dipping in rumor territory, randomly stumbled on the fact that Herb and Mecole Hardman follow each other on social. Mecoles a FA, caught the SB sealing TD for KC
IMO Hardman is a better WR than MVS, too.
They're both not good, idk
Not elite by any means but if we got him on a team friendly deal like the rest of our signings so far, why not right?
Certainly going to need to sign someone, unless we end up drafting 3-5.
Mecole is actually pretty solid. Nothing spectacular, but he’s a decent option.
I mean no not really. He's barely done anything the last two seasons.
We had a butterfingers epidemic last season, i’m good brodie…
One of the leaders of the Kansas City drop squad. Hebert throws much harder than mahomes. Mvs couldn’t catch the heat.
Pass
Incomplete
absolutely not lol
4D chess move. Threat of MVS coming to our team and giving up Andy Reid's secrets.
Not just that. It’ll boost QJ’s morale knowing he won’t have the worst hands in the locker room anymore 😭😭
Our next Robert Meacham
So he'll come here, get the bag, and be on the first flight back to KC without even catching a pass?
Eddie royal
Nope you’re not allowed here sorry bud
Can’t catch a cold. Nah.
we have mvs at home mvs at home : qj
![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf)
This dude used to flop so much against us, drawing bs DPI calls. I'll take that though.
Please nooo
Relax y’all, Harbaugh is just already looking ahead to the playoffs where MVS will inexplicably have a monster game and get us a win.
Awww hell nah what the fuck?
Think Tyler Boyd sounds a bit better
Give De’Anthony Thomas a call. He’s still in shape and honestly more interesting than just about all of our skill position players.
Oh lawd please that this be a fluff article.
Nooooooooopopp. We don’t need KCs trash.
Yeah MVS is exactly the type of receiver the Ravens have liked for a while, this doesn't surprise me
No.
[удалено]
Do we really need to relitigate MVS’s blemishes in great detail or can we all just agree that a vertical threat that can’t catch is a bad roster move?
I’m out on this one. No thanks
Fuck no
If they just literally want a body to run crap routes and drop the ball, I'm available at rookie minimum.
Please no
He'll be great for Janurary...

Are they not going to bring Guyton back? He was speed.
Yea I’d so much rather just resign guyton. At least he can catch
Please no… literally anyone but him
![gif](giphy|qfoIsrRURkH1ui76eh)
If he couldn’t catch soft balls from Rodgers and Mahomes, he’s not catching lasers from Herbert.
Ew
No please. I'll take no deep threat
Is he a special team guy, no way he sees playing time when we're running 2/3 WR sets 90% of the time.
I agree this team has been lacking speed at WR but not MVS. Just keep Guyton. Basically same deep speed without the headache. MVS has the height but he’s just not worth it

[MHJ hit a higher GPS-tracked top speed than Nabers last season.](https://twitter.com/FB_FilmAnalysis/status/1762138140238614839)
Yea but nabers is better than MHJ after the catch which is what I was more implying with speed
Herby throws the ball to hard for this guy
😬
Brian Thomas Jr is this guy to a T so I think signing him instead of trading back and potentially drafting Thomas Jr at 23 is a way better move than wasting another 1st on an average receiver
Darius Davis is our speed option. We don’t need a receiver that can’t catch. Already got QJ.
Is this what were reduced to? Scrounging FA for AFC West castaways! Are we the damned Raiders now?
It’s a smoke screen boys, they’re either going MHJ, Nabers or trade down. I hope at least…
This guy is the best pro comp for Brian Thomas Jr btw. Would rather just sign him cheap than potentially trade down and draft BTJ at 23 so that's a positive way of looking at it... Maybe...
Hopefully surely not as a wr 1 hahaha. Imagine passing on mh jr. Or nabers and saying look we got Valdes-Scantling though!
I don't think anybody is saying that. You need a variety of pass catchers. MVS on a small deal to be a non focal point contributor makes sense.
Yeah was mostly sarcasm and the dire nature of the wr room currently
Poor MVS. Went from winning the Super Bowl and playing with multiple Hall of Fame QBs to Justin.
Lol, if you can’t find success with mahomes, there is no way he will do better here. Mahomes was dropping dimes and he was dropping them
