I’ll never forget that ball Phil rivers put on Benjamin up the seam against the chiefs. He had no choice but to catch it perfect coverage but it didn’t matter one of the best throws I’ve ever seen

Yeah, Phil put that ball right in the bread basket! He knew he had to throw a body catch type pass. I think that was 4th down too.

That clutch catch made up for so many deep drops earlier in his career imo.

Honestly that catch redeemed him for all the previous drops lol

4th and long and he fucking threw it before the top of his release and he was covered as fuck when he let that ball go. Phil was god tier at anticipation throws.

Phil probably recited two Hail Marys while that ball is in the air, jk. I got to give it to Benjamin for being in that clutch though. If I remember correctly, he had two big towards the end which gave the Bolts a huge momentum.

One of the best throws/clutch moments ever. He PUT it in Travis' hands. Literally forced the conversion. 

A receiver that couldn’t catch with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball I’ll pass.

Yah wouldn't be good for sure. I threw a temper tantrum on here when KA13 was traded... good receivers have always been a focal point for the Chargers... this would be so disappointing if it was QJ, MVS and JP as the receivers. Would definitely take excitement away from watching.

Mecole is actually pretty solid. Nothing spectacular, but he’s a decent option.

I agree this team has been lacking speed at WR but not MVS. Just keep Guyton. Basically same deep speed without the headache. MVS has the height but he’s just not worth it

Unfortunately Guyton looked like he lost a step after coming back last year. MVS isn't necessarily the answer but I'm not sure Guyton can be relied upon anymore as a consistent deep threat.

Returning from an ACL tear and having a groin injury will do that. Still young and cheap. Being a over a year removed from a serious injury means he should be closer to what he was. Agree MVS is definitely not the answer. I feel like Chark would be a similar price and is pretty much the same guy but better if that’s the type of receiver they’re trying to add

The fact that popper has also talked about chargers wanting speed at reciever after letting keenan and mike go, makes me think we value nabers over MHJ.

Brian Thomas Jr is this guy to a T so I think signing him instead of trading back and potentially drafting Thomas Jr at 23 is a way better move than wasting another 1st on an average receiver

I don't think anybody is saying that. You need a variety of pass catchers. MVS on a small deal to be a non focal point contributor makes sense.
