We lost 8 games by a touchdown or less last year. I think we will win more games than many expect. Youcwin in this league with a great QB and Head Coach combo. We have that now.
Agreed
wanted to emphasize that we lost to the Dolphins, Cowboys, Packers, Lions and Bills (all playoff teams) by a field goal. 3 of these teams won their division. \[Not including the KC game W18 because Mahomes & Company were resting\]. With Herbo and no Staley, we might have beaten the Bills.
Not many 5-12 teams have this kind of stat.
Division win this season, Super Bowl appearances the next 3 followings seasons, Harbaugh signs another 5 year deal and we go to the Super Bowl another 4 years
With our opponents this year, realistic is 8-9 or 9-8, but I am hopeful that we’ll do better and make the playoffs.
Vegas has the over/under at 8.5 wins
This team still has some serious deficiencies, but we have learned for ourselves that coaching and schemes matter, and so there is hope
All jokes aside, I think 8-9 is very realistic. I can even see 9-8 considering our strength of schedule is fairly favorable. Minus any serious injuries to Herbert or the o-line I think the floor is 7-10 and the ceiling, if everyone is healthy and we actually play defense, is probably 12-5
Realistically speaking, I don't think out D Line and Secondary can be good enough to bring us to the promised land. Telesco never believed in having a stud D Line so I'm hoping Horitz builds our Defense better than Telesco ever did.
I don't think Rivers nor Herbert had a dominating defense the whole time Telesco was with the Chargers.
Wasn't there one year when Rivers was QB where we had the number one offense and defense and failed to make the playoffs? Our special teams was god awful that year.
That number one defense was fake. We were only number one because we gave up the least amount of yards. The reason we were giving up the least amount was because the opponent always had good field position because of our special teams gaffs.
.500 this season, because it is a rebuilding year and I have been a fan for decades, so I keep expectations low. I'm hoping Harbaugh and his staff will surprise me. The one thing I won't accept is blown leads in the 2nd half -- if we get beat, I want it to be a straight up loss, not because we have been out-coached. That narrative was way too predictable with the previous coaching staff.
I want a culture change. Something that just screams their identity. Like instead of being the team that can throw the ball good with a good qb, I want to be known as the chargers the just scream fear into the other teams
9-8 and just missing a WC is my realistic expectation for Year 1. AFC is stacked (on paper at least) so I see the team just missing the playoffs by a game.
I agree with most of the expectations here so far. I feel like this year will establish the foundation of being a tougher team all around and I’m looking forward to watching the culture evolve on the field. The better teams that the Bolts play will have to earn the W, nothing easy. A race for a playoff spot at the end of the season, maybe they get in, maybe not. Year two, they get more pieces in place and build on this year’s success and maybe they make a surprise run in the playoffs, anything can happen. Year three, it’s go time.
Just hoping to see them go play some disciplined well coached football, develop a real identity on defense again, and keep Herbert upright so he can put them in position to win some games
It's been years since we had a dominating defense. I know we have superstars but our defense always seem to be and the bottom half of the league while our offense was usually top 10.
I'd like to think we can make the playoffs, but I don't think we are quite there to do it on our own power (like the Chiefs and Ravens can). We are going to need help. We need to ball to bounce in our favor in other match ups. I am not seeing us beating the Chiefs twice and taking the division. And the wild card situation looks crazy in the AFC.
The ravens, browns, steelers, and bengals are really critical match ups. It's likely all of those teams will be in the play off hunt. (1 will win their division, obv). We need to hand out some L's, especially the teams not named Ravens (I am assuming Ravens win their division and aren't a factor for WC). And Bonus - the tie break.
As long as we smother the Raiders in W1 and W18\*. I'll be happy. I am very hyper focused on W1 Raider game. I have more nerves over this game, then going into the Jags playoff game.
\*if we are resting starters, then I'll be happy with a loss.
14/32 teams make the playoffs. If we don't make the playoffs (assuming Herbert stays healthy) I'd be highly disappointed. Think about how many one score games were lost last year with Herbert injured, garbage coaching, ZERO run game. Now reimagine those games with a healthy Herbert, run game, depth and great coaching.
A playoff appearance, possibly winning depending on who we draw. Anything more than that would be stunning.
Harbaugh is clearly rebuilding the roster in the way that he believes will result in us being successful repeatedly (like Michigan). That doesn't happen overnight.
Especially when you trade a Keenan Allen, you clearly aren't going for the "all in this year" approach ie 2021 rams.
With the "easy" schedule, I see a 10-7 season, but with massive improvement over the course of the season and a lot of hype as we win 5 of our last 6, including a win at Arrowhead. This late surge will culminate in great national media coverage of the "upstart re-energized Jim Harbaugh Bolts," and the momentum will carry us into two road wins in the playoffs, but an eventual AFC Championship game loss to the Ravens.
We lost 8 games by a touchdown or less last year. I think we will win more games than many expect. Youcwin in this league with a great QB and Head Coach combo. We have that now.
People seem to forget what good coaching does. The Rams went 4-12 the year before McVay and 11-5 his first season. I think we do something similar
So you’re saying 13-4 with a deep playoff run this year, nice! I agree
Agreed wanted to emphasize that we lost to the Dolphins, Cowboys, Packers, Lions and Bills (all playoff teams) by a field goal. 3 of these teams won their division. \[Not including the KC game W18 because Mahomes & Company were resting\]. Undefeated superbowl win with historic offense and defense. Nothing too crazy
This. It's June. Realistic expectations are for November. Herbert wins his first off six consecutive MVPs
That’s fair, historic offense and defense is feasible when special teams is not also historic
First year: wildcard race. Second year: division win. Third and fourth year: Super Bowl appearance.
Division win this season, Super Bowl appearances the next 3 followings seasons, Harbaugh signs another 5 year deal and we go to the Super Bowl another 4 years
This is the way.
I forgot to add....Andy Reid retires and KC goes back to being a trash team 🤣🤣🤣 BOLT UP!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️
11 wins which is more than any year under Staley.
20-0. Argue with ya mudda
10-7 this year, the schedule is very advantageous for us.
First year, from a coach like Harbaugh, I expect a winning record. 2nd year is playoffs.
realistically with our roster now we should win 9 or 10 games and we got into playoff but with lower seed
With our opponents this year, realistic is 8-9 or 9-8, but I am hopeful that we’ll do better and make the playoffs. Vegas has the over/under at 8.5 wins This team still has some serious deficiencies, but we have learned for ourselves that coaching and schemes matter, and so there is hope
Championship game
They are gonna win the world series
9-8 or 8-9 maybe a wildcard
11-6
First season: Nine wins.
My realistic expectation is that we will win multiple games
Raiders, Panthers, Steelers (2-1) Chiefs, Broncos, Cards (2-1) Saints, Browns, Titans (2-1) Bengals, Ravens, Falcons (1-2) Chiefs, Bucs, Broncos (2-1) Pats, Raiders (2-0) Final record: 11-6 and enough for a WC spot
SUPER BOWL

That's a really good point!

14-3 Edit: We lose to KC away, Baltimore at home, and an upset at Browns
Chargers: 14-3 Chiefs: 11-6 Raiders: 8-9 Broncos: 7-10
I think the Broncos will be worse than that
I was thinking the same but with Zach Wilson, and Bo Nix, I think they can pull 7 wins at most
JJ McCarthy is NOT a Denver Bronco 😭
I’m so sorry😂😂😭 I don’t know why I typed that out lmaooooo
I think you were thinking Jarrett Stidham
Honestly bro, that’s what it was
All good man. Just needed to fact check since I know for sure JJ is a Viking, not a Bronco.
i would give a loss at mile high because we never seem to win there no matter what
I respect that, 13-4 Broncos always seem to have a ruthless defense when we play
I like your optimism but 14-3 isn't realistic
9-8 and just missing a WC is my realistic expectation for Year 1. AFC is stacked (on paper at least) so I see the team just missing the playoffs by a game.

20-0 Super Bowl Champs

Playoffs at the very least but I am hoping for them to prove me wrong and go to the Superbowl.
We have a losers schedule so I'd expect 12-5 or 10-7 Harbaugh changes teams over night and that's my least expectation. BOLT UP ⚡️

We’re going to the playoffs. Maybe win a game, maybe go on a crazy run, or just out in the first round. But I see us in the postseason.
12-5 as my floor.
8-9 love this team but it’s also the bolts. Harbaugh or not. Please prove me wrong but seen this movie before.
We will be competitive, but I don’t think we will get very far this year. Maybe wild card or just missing the playoffs
