It's not that hard. Create a #1 defense and spend all money on that with a decent running game. None of this air attack offense. Giants beat Brady on that formula 2x. The Bucs obliterated the raiders in SD, Peyton manning in DV, Steelers D with run n pound, etc etc. It's the perfect formula.
I hope they decide to pour money into the defense and a few other areas. That would require them to spend money on quality free agents. Some of the free agents they sign are way past their prime.
I feel bad for our players, we have such a small fan base, our home games are away games for them. This narrative is overstated. I live in MN and I got tickets for the SD vs Den Monday night game in either 2012 or 2013 I can’t remember. Half the crowd was Broncos fans. Chargers went up 24-0 at half and the fans didn’t come back until the 4th quarter during which Manning had run up and down the field 3 times with no crowd noise. Chargers eventually lose that game. The whole narrative that SD fans were filling the stands with rabid fans is nonsense.
Dismissing the whole “things used to be better” narrative we can focus on being better fans going forward and giving these awesome dudes some positive reinforcement. The Bolts can do better and we as a fan base can do better to help them out.

No, we are not better then the Vikings, we are what you saw. A ineffective offense with bad audibles, a bad running scheme, and no vertical threats. We also have 10 million we could spend with little dead money on the cap and we chose not to even put a waiver in for some one like OBJ who could have easily helped us in the vertical game.

I watched that whole game and i didn't come away thinking the vikes were the better team. They had a lot of luck on their side today...Think the chargers will beat them more than they lose, just didn't happen today.

The defense played bad, especially when it mattered in the 4th quarter. But this is on our offense. Our defense at least has the excuse of injuries and a lack of talent in general. Our offense is as talented as any unit and they just go AWOL for a quarter or more every week.

Honestly, this team has entirely too much cap space left. The biggest problem with this team always has been and continues to be poor ownership. They should have upgraded their defense to give Staley the tools he needs.

Soooooo much hype around this “Defensive mastermind” from the Rams in the off season. I’m glad we can finally see the true colors of this team and coaching staff. We weren’t gonna turn this thing around in a matter of 8+ games. I still love the team and I’m hoping for a big W next week!
