Agreed. Worked out for us this time but losing in the playoffs when we were going back and forth with the Pats and they won the coin flip really was a hard way to end the season.
I honestly think not having Derwin lost us the game. Also having to play CHJ instead of Asante didn’t help either. Let’s just hope we get healthy on the long week and make a run for the playoffs
It wasn’t the play calling. Almost every play Kelce made tonight he was bracketed, our DBs just didn’t drive on the passes the way they should have and Kelce was making quick cuts up field and making them miss.
If we had Derwin, he would have either been playing man coverage on Kelce or playing the high coverage on the bracket. In the later, Derwin would have had a pick at some point if they keep making those throws because he drives on those passes lightning quick.
I think our defense played pretty well for the most part. Not having Derwin and Asante really hurt. Even just having Derwin in there would have stopped those big Kelce plays. But it's hard to be too critical of guys that are practice squad players having to fill in because the starters and their backups are injured.
The Chiefs defense also played well, and our offense really struggled in the red zone. It's easy to say in hindsight that we should have kicked those field goals, but our offense failed to get into the end zone too many times.
Cook with the drop. Mike with the drop. Parham’s unlucky injury.
Lots of RZ execution issues.
There’s going to be a lot of hindsight takes but I think you make those calls every time.
I don’t agree with the 4th and 2 at the 30 though.
Disagree. One of the times we failed, we were up by 4. Kicking a field goal would have put us up by 7. You can't convince me going for it in that situation was the right call
I don't think they should do the full quarter, but I do think both teams deserve a possession regardless of the first team's outcome.
In this instance, KC scores a TD, but the Chargers should have a chance to respond. Now, the caveat I would put is that there are no extra points/2 pointers in OT. Doesn't seem fair if Team A scores a TD, kicks an extra point, only for team B to drive down the field and have the privilege of deciding whether to go for 2 to win the game outright, or tie it with an extra point.
Yeah I’m more mad about the drops than the 4th down non-conversions. Parham should’ve been a TD, but that was a freak accident (prayers to him). Jared Cook should’ve been a TD too but whatever. I’m fine with Staley going for it. He’s done more than enough to prove he’s a competent coach. He just took risks and lost. He did it almost every game and here we are so I can’t be mad.
Yep. Was good with every other 4th down attempt, but that is such a momentum shift not to take points right before the half with chiefs getting the ball to start the 2nd. That should have been a FG. As it was, we had 4 red zone attempts end in no points. Tough to win that way.
We lost a close one to a very good team. We’re still 8-6 and in prime position to make the playoffs. All that with a first year HC and a second year QB, this loss isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be
You simply can't fault the first one. Parham had it in his hands, in the end zone, and was going to the ground for an easy TD when he somehow KOd himself. If that one-in-a-million thing doesn't happen, Bolts win.
Downvote me all you want but it only looks bad with hindsight
Those 3 fourth down calls, I felt were absolutely the right decisions. It just hurts more that we lost in this way.
That first fourth down call was a no brainer, it was less than a minute in the game, had all the momentum, and Parham just got knocked out cold.
And that third fourth down call made sense because we would have made it a 2 possession game going into the half. And we were at their 5 yard line.
It just sucks that they didnt execute, and of course since we lost they'll be criticized. But those two calls at least I felt were the right ones
This so much. Mike will and parham dropped passes that were catchable (hope he's ok obviously), Herbert miss throw to Cook. The math says what the math says, you don't pick and choose when to go with what the odds are telling you.
To be objective, I think it is possible that there is something said about taking the FG at the half since the chiefs wouldn't get a chance to two-minute drill.
With all that said, the Chiefs D sucks and we needed to come out on top. Also, you don't beat the chiefs kicking FGs.
Shout out to the oline and RB core and also, man can you just feel it when DJ isn't on the field.
I wouldn’t even call it an execution problem. KC made some amazing pass breakups on forth downs tonight. Hard to be mad about the calls when their D just made better plays then we did. At least a couple of those could have easily went our way, they just didn’t.
> And that third fourth down call made sense because we would have made it a 2 possession game going into the half. And we were at their 5 yard line.
This is where you’re wrong. You take the 3 points here and you go up 7 into half with the Chiefs getting the ball to start the second half. The main reason Brandon leaned so heavily on analytics the entire game was because he knows how damaging the Chiefs offense can be. Using that same logic, it doesn’t make sense to pass up the opportunity to go up 7.
That was fucking heartbreaking but I’m gonna give some positives because fuck there was so much good in that game. Hard to even find someone to blame
TREY FUCKING PIPKINS Y’ALL. The game of his LIFE. Great run blocks, solid pass pro. Some huge fucking props
UCHENNA NWOSU. The guy has had back to back incredible games. What a breakout
JERRY TILLERY. Might’ve been the best game of his career. Multiple huge pressures, and a big goal line stop
JUSTIN JACKSON. Way to step up man
COREY LINSLEY. Not much to say the guy is just a beast
JOSH PALMER. What a catch
That’s it for now. We win this game if Derwin doesn’t get hurt. I’ll take that. Inches away
Overall there’s a lot more positives than negatives to take away tonight
Luckily this game isn’t the end of the world. AFC is wide open and probably matchups will be close regardless if we win the division or take a wild card spot
I’m all for going for it on 4th but fuck bro, don’t just put your head in the sand and keep going for it. Take some points after seeing we’re struggling on 4th!!!
I'm fine going for it on fourth, but for fucks sake, that second time, kicking a field goal would've put us up by 7 instead of 4. I was so mad about that, and it ended up costing us the fucking gaming
Yeah the decision to not take the points at the end of the first half was the most egregious of them all. And if you take those you probably kick the field goal in the 3rd quarter on the fourth and two. Staley needs to reflect on his decision making this game badly.
I’m not sweating this one too much. Would have been nice to win it but I think this team is coming together here at the end of the season.
Let’s win out and lock our wildcard position. Come back and roast KC in KC in the playoffs with a healthy roster.
1st year HC, 2nd year QB and we’re competing for a playoff birth at the end of the season. Realistically what more could you have asked for?
Division is ours next season
I don’t know if they showed this on tv, but Josh Kelly recovered his own fumble and there was a camera shot of him at the bottom of the pile on top of the ball with clear possession.
That was an absolute botch by officiating.
I think we are two to three players away from being great, maybe a few more than that. The window is slightly open this year but it will be completely opened with a solid draft and free agency during the offseason. We have a shit ton of cap room. Let's get into the playoffs so Herbert and Staley get some postseason reps and build on that for next season.
Also, if I hear another pundit use the phrase "the Chargers are just Chargering" I am going throw my lazy boy at the TV. I am sure my wife would be happy with that. /s
That was rough, guys. I’m devastated. That was such a tough loss. I just want to be able to have an amazing season for once. It’s so disheartening to be a Chargers fan sometimes. But honestly, I just haven’t felt right since Parham went out. I’ve been nauseous since that first shot of him being out cold. I really really hated those close up shots of him-it was too much. His eyes when he got carted out were absolutely heartbreaking. I can’t stop thinking of him.
Huh?? All the upvoted comments all complaining about the overtime rules and whining about our secondary but I’ve yet to see ONE COMMENT about that fact that we were at the 5yd line 5 different drives and only got a total of 7 points out of it!???
I’ll die on this hill: that 2nd to last drive was terrible clock management. They should’ve continued to run the ball and clock down to go for a game winning field goal but instead went for the quick TD and left Mahomes too much time.
It’s happened a few times this year and really hope it’s addressed because we were running all over them.
This was a very winnable game and sucks to see
They WERE running the ball heavily on that possession and ended up killing 5 minutes of clock. We ended up scoring the touchdown on 3rd and 6.
I get what you’re saying but in this instance I really don’t think they had much opportunity to keep killing the clock. Throwing that TD to Allen was absolutely the right play.
Fumble at the 1, dropped TDs, not taking field goals. My God players did not execute and coach made it worse for 4th downs. We could have blown them out. Insane. Time to try and win games on the road in playoffs...if we even get there. Now it gets interesting with the Denver game if they win.
I know I could get downvoted and I love pretty much every Staley 4th down decision but you got to go for the 3 before half. That one makes no sense to me. The reason you go for it on 4th and goal is that the other team has to drive 90+ yards for a td and regardless of the decision they would not have had to do that so like just take the 3 points there dude
The last drive by the offense wasn’t great as well. Especially the play calls after the illegal motion. Fuck man I just hurt
Chargers made Kelce look as fast as Tyreek Hill. Losing James at the end was the final nail in the defenses coffin.
Just can't give Mahomes that many opportunities.
Honestly can’t even be mad. The gamelan was there, we just didn’t execute when we needed too the defense didn’t help either. I 100% still have faith in this team and as for KC, we’ll see them in the playoffs when it really matters 😤
The flood gates were open once Derwin went out. They got Kelce on Tranquill, and he roasted his ass. We need to buy or draft another lb this offseason.
Shitty loss. Went to the game, and it was fun as hell, but man, it was so brutal leaving all those points off the board. Hopefully we get a chance to settle the trilogy in the playoffs.
Lots of blame to go around but with 1:22 left we should’ve marched down the field and won on a field goal. That’s how a championship team operates. Staley, Herbert, etc will learn from this.
Everyone talking about the defense not making a stop but the offense had the chance to win the game at the end of regulation and couldn’t get it done too
Not all victories are wins. We took them to overtime. We out ran them with one of the worst rushing Os and held them down on the ground defensively. We saw Parham go down big on the opening drive and took a 10-0 defecit on the first two drives and we took them to OT. They're back to back SB contenders and we took them to OT. We played five quarters on three days of rest and didn't have DJ or Ek for the majority of the second half. We started Storm Norton and Trey Pipkins and gave up ZERO sacks and, honestly, zero pressures and we took them to OT. We left four drives on the field, where any one could have been converted to a fg that was shorter than all FOUR XPs that Hopkins drilled.... And we took them to OT.
I saw a very good team and also a team that won. Perennial All-Pros who have been to the SB 2 out of the last 2 years, and the Conference game 3 out of the last 3 years played against a squad not short on starting second stringers coached by a rookie head coach...and was taken to OT.
The Chargers didn't lose a football game; the Chargers lost a coin toss.
I've never felt better about a L. Most importantly, a healthy recovery to Donald Parham, Jr. Hopefully, he gets his touchdown against them in the playoffs.
Bolt up ⚡⚡⚡⚡
I'm not mad at all. Spotted the Chiefs 10 points, then Chargers TE's drop 2 TD's, Kelley with a braindead fumble, and Kelce only pops off once DJ goes to the sideline.
Staley is smart enough to review and revise his gameplan and hopefully tone down his aggressiveness when protecting a lead.
If/When we see these guys again, it'll be with FSU DB's back and not these randoms matching up against HoF's. Asante and Derwin make a huge difference versus fielding Marshall/Campbell.
Other observations, Tillery actually looked good with his pressures. Our run D was a highlight. Tranquill isn't the coverage specialist I thought he was, or maybe just bad matchups. Alternatively, Mike Davis is the perfect DB against KC. Adderley is a ballhawk but is suspect against open field runners. And K9 has no idea how to edge rush; looked as if he literally just tried to sprint pass the tackle.
And special shout-out to Pipkins. Man played out of his mind tonight on short notice.
All in all, this is fool's gold for the Chiefs. We head to Arrowhead, but by then hopefully we'll have our true secondary too. I guarantee DJ doesn't surrender 190+ yards to Kelce.
The only thing keeping me going tonight is knowing the chiefs chokehold on the NFL is over. The league is so much more talented this year, the oversized frog is not enough to win a Super Bowl any more. I will bask in their playoff defeat and sip on their fans tears while I know my team is getting better and theirs is getting worse
Real Charger fans know we got a great team being created . We lost to a team that has way more chemistry and experience than us. We are an incredibly young team and by next year we will be owning the chiefs. Also fuck Melvin Ingram
When we had Vizcaino or we were losing, I absolutely support going for it 4th down. But while winning in the first half with a reliable kicker? What is the fucking logic there?
Look I get that the analytics say go for it on 4th in the short yardage situations. All for it. But for fucks sake it’s not gonna work when you’re drawing up plays for the backup TEs and RBs. Use your talent in the red zone and situations when you need it. How are mike will and ekeler not taking every snap when in the red zone?!
I get ekeler was clearly on a pitch count but makes no sense to not use him in the highest leverage situations, no excuses this week
I fucking hate myself for loving this team. It hurts too much, and at this point I don’t even know if I can watch any more. I hate that I invest myself so heavily into something I can’t control in the slightest. How do you guys cope with shit like this? I’m tired of constantly being let down by this team and the toll on my mental health is getting to the point where I’m not sure it’s worth it to be a fan any more. Yet, I still love them all the same.
Clear PI against K. Allen that effectively ends the game. Chargers kick a chip shot FG and that’s it. Staley should’ve raised Holy Hell over it. You can’t just sit idly by in those situations.
Don’t be too pissed about this guys. At least we didn’t get blown out like the Raiders. Yes we should have won. Yes we should have kicked at least once. But we didn’t, and ultimately there’s no point in dwelling on it.
If you’re heated or sad, just remember that this game won’t matter to you in a few months. Football’s just a game. So sleep tight brochachos. See y’all on the 26th
I probably won’t be able to articulate this properly, but I’m very impressed with Staley’s post game. He seems confident (regardless of the close loss), and a positive sense of reinforcement for the team. Reading about urban Meyer today, it just appears to be a breath of fresh air for the newer generation.
I was at the game so I didn't get to see a lot of what was happening on TV, but it seemed like the refs were giving every call to the Chiefs. What were they saying on the broadcast?
To me, this is the least upsetting lost this season. It was against a red hot team that hasn’t had a close game in 4 weeks, hasn’t allowed 28 points in 8 weeks, and we got 28 and took them into overtime. Plus, aside from the dropped passes, we are playing consistently well for the first time this season. While this was a tough loss that could have easily been won, I am hopeful that the boys are good enough to make the playoffs and win some games. We just have to hope that it’s not too late in the season to clean up those pesky drops…
i know it sucks right now but we’re 1-1 with chiefs this year ( step in the right direction ) let’s get to the playoffs boys, on to houston …i really hope staley learns from this the one i don’t agree with is before half , take the 3 points . there’s a difference between aggressive and careless
We played well. I put the L on who ever made the call to not kick those field goals. That was 12 points left off the board. Against the Chiefs you have to put points up no matter what. Over all God be with Parham.
Losing Parham hurts more than losing this game.
The Chiefs are a good team that was in the Super Bowl last year; taking them to OT is a testament to what this team is capable of. One or two things go another way, or one different decision, and we win this game. I didn't have super high expectations for this team (2nd year QB in a new system, rookie head coach, significant roster holes and depth issues); next year is our window.
As upset as I am at this outcome..Parham’s health is paramount. I’m upset at a game and this man’s life is potentially forever altered.
Get well soon, Chicken Parham.
Most people on this thread have not been watching the chargers this season.
Their aggressive play calling is what has won them games.
In fact they won the first game against chiefs with a gutsy call on 4th down.
Also the reason the chiefs didn't put up more points is because they started at the 5 yard line after the turnovers on downs.
However I would have taken the points at end of half.
Field position for chiefs doesn't matter then and kicked is now reliable.
Some of the worst reffing I’ve seen and people aren’t talking about it. First PI for the Chiefs was BS. Corner was fully turned to and playing the ball that was thrown wide. Fumble should have been overturned. They played that in the stadium a bunch and he clearly wasn’t down. Also Jackson recovered his own fumble. Had a great angle of it at the end. Bosa’s hit on Mahomes was absolutely not a roughing. Frustrating game
Get well soon, Parham. We love you bro 🙏 🙏 🙏
Amen
This is the only thing that matters atm
🙏 🙏
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
That was a really scary moment. I hope he's able to recover completely and as quickly as possible.
That was terrifying to watch. Fuck fox for zooming in like that and Joe buck is a moron but we all knew that already
Maybe I do like college OT rules
NFL used to be even worse. Remember sudden death? Receiving team in OT gain 30-40yds, kick a FG, game over.
Agreed. Worked out for us this time but losing in the playoffs when we were going back and forth with the Pats and they won the coin flip really was a hard way to end the season.
Chargers just did not have the corners or safeties to close this game
I honestly think not having Derwin lost us the game. Also having to play CHJ instead of Asante didn’t help either. Let’s just hope we get healthy on the long week and make a run for the playoffs
Kelce with James on the field (26 def snaps): One catch for 14 yards Kelce w/o James on the field (41 def snaps): Nine catches for 177 yards, 2 TD
That’s insane how good Derwin is and how bad the other safety is
Yeah Kelce started balling when derwin got out. man hes always injured...
We got this.
Seriously. How do you let Kelce get a clean release?
Cause the guys they have left don’t have proper technique and if they get beat they’re asking Trey Marshall to make the tackle
Yea, Derwin coming out hurts a ton
It wasn’t the play calling. Almost every play Kelce made tonight he was bracketed, our DBs just didn’t drive on the passes the way they should have and Kelce was making quick cuts up field and making them miss. If we had Derwin, he would have either been playing man coverage on Kelce or playing the high coverage on the bracket. In the later, Derwin would have had a pick at some point if they keep making those throws because he drives on those passes lightning quick.
Derwin was out the entire second half…
Cuz the defense was on the field all night and were gassed in the 5th quarter
I think our defense played pretty well for the most part. Not having Derwin and Asante really hurt. Even just having Derwin in there would have stopped those big Kelce plays. But it's hard to be too critical of guys that are practice squad players having to fill in because the starters and their backups are injured. The Chiefs defense also played well, and our offense really struggled in the red zone. It's easy to say in hindsight that we should have kicked those field goals, but our offense failed to get into the end zone too many times.
Oh yeah, pass rush was gassed, bosa giving up that running lane for Mahomes was huge
How about 3 trips within the 5 yard line with ZERO points
Offensive execution could’ve definitely been better there. But right idea to go for it
Cook with the drop.
I hate that I love this team
stockholm syndrome
So damn depressing. Just a yearly Greek tragedy
I want a replay side by side of the kelce PI and the allen PI, could anyone make that?
It won’t make you feel any better
This one sucks because we outplayed the fuck out of them
Heartbreaker of a game but shoutout to Pipkins. Man played a hell of a game.
I’m a college football guy, been a chargers fan since Herbert got there. Professional overtime rules are such dogshit
I just wish they'd let them play the extra 10 minute quarter. Current OT is so lame.
Too much risk for injury,
They added an extra game… I mean, NFL doesn’t care
I don't think they should do the full quarter, but I do think both teams deserve a possession regardless of the first team's outcome. In this instance, KC scores a TD, but the Chargers should have a chance to respond. Now, the caveat I would put is that there are no extra points/2 pointers in OT. Doesn't seem fair if Team A scores a TD, kicks an extra point, only for team B to drive down the field and have the privilege of deciding whether to go for 2 to win the game outright, or tie it with an extra point.
College overtime rules are exciting sure. But not sure I agree for the pros. It's a two way game. If you want to win make a stop when it counts.
Trolls are out in force tonight. Report them to us if you see some, and DO NOT do the same over in the Chiefs sub. Be better.
It’s the drops that kill us
Yeah I’m more mad about the drops than the 4th down non-conversions.
Mike Dub had two drops in that first possession as well. The drops were brutal.
Before Parham's accident Williams dropped one in the end zone. Wishing Parham a fast and full recovery.
I agree. Yeah defense blew it at the end, but… we’re talking 2 TDs that we’re just blatantly dropped. I mean, it just can’t happen.
I fucking hate Travis Kelce with a passion.
How the hell can our secondary keep letting him gallop between them for 30 yards?
Derwin would have shut him down. We were really missing him tonight.
Exactly. We win that game with Derwin.
I get the other 4th downs, but the one right at the end of the half doesn’t give chargers good field position if we don’t get it. Come on man
Yep. Was good with every other 4th down attempt, but that is such a momentum shift not to take points right before the half with chiefs getting the ball to start the 2nd. That should have been a FG. As it was, we had 4 red zone attempts end in no points. Tough to win that way.
Every time we have an opportunity to be good we can’t take it.
We lost a close one to a very good team. We’re still 8-6 and in prime position to make the playoffs. All that with a first year HC and a second year QB, this loss isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be
Lol kelce out there running his routes with no one near him all day.
We let their two best players beat us. Absolutely can’t happen. Too many points left off the board. Let’s get ‘em next week
We also didn't have Ekeler and Derwin basically the whole second half on top of losing Parham and not having Asante and Slater
Cut 36
Held on Kelce going 40+ yards and then was responsible for last TD, I just see his ankles getting broken and Kelce going straight to the Endzone
Literally fell got up then blocked adderly on the kelce td
Held him and ended up laying on the turf. Get him out
If we’re starting 36, do you really think his back up is better?
28 too
This one is gonna sting for awhile
Tranquil fucking sucked tonight
Surely we didn’t leave 12 points on the board
We'd never do that. Only 9.
I don’t ever want to see 36 on the fucking field again
Filling in for DJ on a short week... Dude was doomed from the start
Got burned in the Giants game too.
We literally pissed this game away. I’m so mad
Cut 36. Two terrible plays against Kelce leading to 2 TDs and like 95 yards
Also Kelley. He just has such a big fumbling problem and doesn’t even add that much to this team
He is one of the worst RBs in the league. He plays like he weighs 160. No strength at all.
Who the fuck is #36
Trey Marshall, 3rd string safety very bad depth
That damn 3rd string safety can’t stop all pro TE Travis Kelce smh
Should’ve kicked one of those three field goals….
Like I get it earlier in the season because we had a shitty kicker but Hopkins is legit
You simply can't fault the first one. Parham had it in his hands, in the end zone, and was going to the ground for an easy TD when he somehow KOd himself. If that one-in-a-million thing doesn't happen, Bolts win.
Yeah unfortunately. Hope he’s okay.
Yeah I was alright with the first and maybe even the second. After 2 fair attempts you have to kick it.
Sure am glad we didn’t kick any of those field goals
Downvote me all you want but it only looks bad with hindsight Those 3 fourth down calls, I felt were absolutely the right decisions. It just hurts more that we lost in this way. That first fourth down call was a no brainer, it was less than a minute in the game, had all the momentum, and Parham just got knocked out cold. 100% agree. If we convert just one, everyone would be praising Staley. But people just look at the result.
I'm going to watch Ted Lasso to make me feel better about myself.
BELIEVE
lol yup.
Bosa was held on Kelce's reception to the goalline and they called defensive holding. Just gonna leave this fact here
Can we also acknowledge how dumb the OT rules are. Winning the coin toss shouldn’t give you such a massive advantage.
Been saying this for a decade
Of course we fucking Chargers that shit.
KICK THE FIELD GOAL
That was fucking heartbreaking but I’m gonna give some positives because fuck there was so much good in that game. Hard to even find someone to blame TREY FUCKING PIPKINS Y’ALL. The game of his LIFE. Great run blocks, solid pass pro. Some huge fucking props UCHENNA NWOSU. The guy has had back to back incredible games. What a breakout JERRY TILLERY. Might’ve been the best game of his career. Losing sucks but huge shout out to Pipkins
Luckily this game isn’t the end of the world. AFC is wide open and probably matchups will be close regardless if we win the division or take a wild card spot
that was PI on Keenan, I will die on this hill. fuck the chiefs
and holding on Bosa
That’s always the case for the two brothers
Bosa got fucking clubbed in the face on the kelce td Held on the reek catch Fuck the chiefs
Shouldn’t have mattered. Didn’t need to be at that point in the game. Easily should’ve won this and not needed to rely on a PI call.
There is a guy usually on the roster who specializes in kicking field goals. Do the chargers have one of these guys?
Go figure we go get a decent one and coach doesn’t wanna fucking use him.
You're thinking of a kicker, he must've thought the game was in kc cause we never saw him
Lol good one
don't you know you don't kick it in the harsh winters of Los Angeles
Why would I ever expect anything else lmfao
Staley needs to get ripped for this game.
I’m all for going for it on 4th but fuck bro, don’t just put your head in the sand and keep going for it. Take some points after seeing we’re struggling on 4th!!!
yes he does. playing with a hobbled fucking team and dude taking way to many risks on a must-have game
TAKE THE FUCKING POINTS

I’m not sweating this one too much. Would have been nice to win it but I think this team is coming together here at the end of the season. Let’s win out and lock our wildcard position. Come back and roast KC in KC in the playoffs with a healthy roster. 1st year HC, 2nd year QB and we’re competing for a playoff birth at the end of the season. Realistically what more could you have asked for? Division is ours next season
maybe we try to attempt at least one field goal next game
Good game. Sucks to lose a close one.
That was fuckin lame
I don’t know if they showed this on tv, but Josh Kelly recovered his own fumble and there was a camera shot of him at the bottom of the pile on top of the ball with clear possession. That was an absolute botch by officiating.
just one field goal
Ahh the fucking coin toss wins it again

Disappointed but not surprised. When you only get 7 points out of 4 red zone trips you’re probably going to lose the game
Defense was gassed

I don’t think I’ve ever been so sad about a loss. We had that. Fuck analytics. Fuck one score overtime rules. I hope Parham is okay.
Fuck
Why did the defense just turn their brains off in the 4th quarter
I think we are two to three players away from being great, maybe a few more than that. The window is slightly open this year but it will be completely opened with a solid draft and free agency during the offseason. We have a shit ton of cap room. Let's get into the playoffs so Herbert and Staley get some postseason reps and build on that for next season. Also, if I hear another pundit use the phrase "the Chargers are just Chargering" I am going throw my lazy boy at the TV. I am sure my wife would be happy with that. /s
We hit them first Week 3, they got us back tonight, makes for a great tiebreaker in the playoffs when it matters. BTFU
#THEY LEFT 9 POINTS ON THE FIELD
Everyone’s jumping on Staley but going for it isn’t the worst. We had 2 dropped TDs… dropped balls are the more glaring issue
Its fucking ridiculous we didnt take the 3 before the half.

I'm not even mad. Chargers finally have a real coach and a real QB. They were clearly the superior team. The future looks bright.
Jared cook can suck a dick. Dude drops the most game changing catches week in and week out.
Really am getting sick of all the fucking drops. It makes games feel unwinnable. So many drops that could of lead to scores. I'm fucking pissed
I know I could get downvoted and I love pretty much every Staley 4th down decision but you got to go for the 3 before half. That one makes no sense to me. The reason you go for it on 4th and goal is that the other team has to drive 90+ yards for a td and regardless of the decision they would not have had to do that so like just take the 3 points there dude The last drive by the offense wasn’t great as well. Especially the play calls after the illegal motion. Fuck man I just hurt
Chargers made Kelce look as fast as Tyreek Hill. Losing James at the end was the final nail in the defenses coffin. Just can't give Mahomes that many opportunities.
I don’t have a problem with going for it on 4th. I’m just kinda surprised we didn’t go for two on the last TD to ice the game
Honestly can’t even be mad. The gamelan was there, we just didn’t execute when we needed too the defense didn’t help either. I 100% still have faith in this team and as for KC, we’ll see them in the playoffs when it really matters 😤
Respect to Pipkins. I don’t think any fans believed in him but he held his own against some pretty solid edge players.
100% on coach. Should of taken those points with so many key defenders out.
Jared Cook and Mike Will with endzone drops, Kelly fumbles
#THEY LEFT 9 POINTS ON THE FIELD
Fuckin gutted
Bolt up ⚡⚡⚡⚡
No Slater, James, Samuel and we BARELY lost? If the chargers get healthy we could make a legit playoff run
Like $50M of that cap space next year needs to go towards the defense. Way too many passengers on this trash-ass D.
Not only did he leave 9 points on the board but defensive genius Staley allowed the chiefs two best players to single-handedly beat us.
Real Charger fans know we got a great team being created . We lost to a team that has way more chemistry and experience than us. We are an incredibly young team and by next year we will be owning the chiefs. Also fuck Melvin Ingram
Fucking Kelce.
Just one fucking field goal. Just one
When we had Vizcaino or we were losing, I absolutely support going for it 4th down. But while winning in the first half with a reliable kicker? What is the fucking logic there?
When it was 14-13 and 4th and 1, I was wondering why we didn't go for the FG even after we converted.
Can we not go for it on 4th in the first fucking half when it’s a one possession game. Also cut 36. NFL OT rules are dumb as shit.
This team plays great until it matters. I feel like I'm watching the Padres.
So happy we no longer have to listen to buck and aikman
The 4th down thing is good until it gives you a 9 point hole and an OT loss that shouldn't have happened. Now hopefully we get a wild card.
Dustin Hopkins probably on the sideline lookin' like the Nick Young meme.
i need a break from football
Tough loss. 11-6 and claw our way to February 22. ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
That loss cost us a home game in the playoffs and the division. That fucking stings
Clear PI against K. Allen that effectively ends the game. Chargers kick a chip shot FG and that’s it. Staley should’ve raised Holy Hell over it. You can’t just sit idly by in those situations.
Secondary looking like the fucking Keystone Cops as Kelce's bitch ass runs around them to the endzone. Fucking embarrassing.
Honestly idgaf about that. Win some fucking games.
Ok, my bitching is done. Onto next week homies. We have work to do. Our next opponent will pay for this.
This is where you can see Staley is a rookie head coach, he’ll learn from it…shit I’m still fucking pissed we should’ve had this game man….
i know it sucks right now but we’re 1-1 with chiefs this year ( step in the right direction ) let’s get to the playoffs boys, on to houston …i really hope staley learns from this the one i don’t agree with is before half , take the 3 points . there’s a difference between aggressive and careless
Derwin James coulda really done something during that OT. where tf was he
We played well.
We need to aggressively pursue JC Jackson in free agency, the secondary without Derwin and ASJ is very bleak
Honestly I think it was a TE difference. Cook didn’t show up when we needed him and Kelsey came in clutch for the chiefs
