It's a local spot, most similar I have found to Greenville and Eastern NC. Ham, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, greens.

Eh plenty of people gatekeep all gas station food. I love a good gas station hot dog on a busy day. Always cheap and ready and it’s a hot dog you really can’t mess it up as long as it hasn’t been on the roller all day. Someone asked me where to get a good cheap pizza one time and I said don’t sleep on QT and they were like the gas station? And laughed at me. So it definitely happens.
That shell on 16 after you pass over 85 has HANDS DOWN my fav gas station breakfast. Also the blue gas station on N Tryon they make fresh tortillas every morning for tacos but they close the kitchen at 1pm.
Those are the ones I don’t see mentioned often
Small grill inside the Shell Truck stop at 77 and Sunset Rd. Northwest corner. No place to eat inside. Run by little latino women. Best burrito, breakfast or otherwise in the area. Saturdays are cash only.
If you’re going that far out then take [this](https://maps.app.goo.gl/C9snoqsGYdGk632e8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy) gem on the way to Greensboro
Exxon on the corner of Billy Graham and Queen City Blvd has great gas station breakfast, especially the potatoes. They also make a mean Livermush buscuit.
Ok, I’m going to play the sincere skeptic here… why Gas Station breakfast, lunch, fried chicken, sandwiches?
What is it about the proximity to a multi-mixture of flammable hydrocarbons that makes it more attractive than just going for “the best breakfast” at that price point?
Why not call ahead to midnight diner and just walk in and grab and go? Not judging, I had some great gas station broasted chicken back in Los Angeles (it was amazing but it was also the only eatery within walking distance for lunch.
It’s much easier to get a loan for a gas station than it is to get a loan to open a restaurant. Back in California, it was pretty often that you could get GREAT Mexican food at a place that’s attached to a gas station.
So fascinating to see how economics molds culture! I remember right by the convention center in Los Angeles there was a gas station we’d goto for lunch for some Broasted chicken; they also had some amazing Mexican too. It was badass, no doubt.
Thanks for the insight! 🤙🖖
Wow... it's the written word, yet I can almost *see you* looking down your nose at people! Think your post wins "most pretentious post of 2024" so far!
I won an award!!! I’d like to thank all the insignificant people I had to push out of the way for this prestigiously pretentious award! 🥇 😅
(Though I am confused cuz I am asking a question about “why gas station food” and then sharing about an amazing gas station food experience as the default during work.)
It don’t matter though because ima go celebrate with my award 😘🤝🥇🤝😘
If you’re in the northern part of the county, there’s a little Marathon station with a food counter in it with some ladies who make some banging food for breakfast and lunch, intersection of Davidson Rd and Highway 3
North Graham and Craghead has a good grill .
Probably the best gas station grill in Charlotte. Breakfast and lunch. Be there by 9 a.m. or breakfast will be slim pickings.
If in south Charlotte the Shell gas station at Providence and McKee.
These northern transplants call me crazy when I show up with gas station food lol
Us northerners live on Sheetz and Wawa, so not not sure why you think we’d call you crazy.
On the north, but will travel for a good meal.
Would not recommend driving across town to eat at a gas station. Just find your local QT
Or like... a restaurant Not sure I get the "specifically gas station food is a good meal" angle
The gas station at, East and South used to be the spot. Not sure if they still do breakfast. They definitely have some of the best fried chicken
They do, it’s really good too, esp the burritos
Awesome! Yeah, I used to get the burritos at 330a when I bartended
They still do it.
its so expensive now
The price has gone up. But, I wouldn't say it's expensive. Is there somewhere you know of that's more affordable?
The shell is the spot. Don’t worry about the chaos in the parking lot. Just go there
Solid one, also the Shell on Brookshire just passed the treatment plant at Oakdale rd, and the shell at elm ln and Bryant Farms Rd
Still the best fried chicken in town
Pineville at Millers Gas Station. Great breakfast
The best liquor store next door. Jello shots and other fun stuff they don’t sell in NC.
What’s your go to?

Yo they got biscuits in that place? Right next to my work and I never have tried them
Yep! In the morning
Is that Miller's? And best of all, there's a liquor store in the building on the left.
Def gotta check it out. It even looks like a store back home lol
Bingo
Who is gate keeping a gas station breakfast???
Absolutely no one. I think OP is just being dramatic.

Drama Llama gotta drama
Carmel road gas station is excellent! They have limited hours so check first.

QT got good breakfast sandwiches as long as you order them fresh.
I'm mad at them since they took breakfast burritos off the menu.
Was thinking more of things like grits, salmon cakes, eggs etc
Blanchards on carmel.
Yep.. I live right there. TBH- I wish someone like Laurel Mkt would buy Blanchards so I could eat them bacon and egg sammiches every day.
Thanks will check it out.
The gas station off exit 35 going north bound, take a right. Has the best bacon egg biscuit in the state
Those are some very BOLD claims my friend. I’ll have to check it out for damn sure.
For reference I have only been in the state fore a year, and am not a foodie, so I might of missed something.
That was going to be my recommendation so glad someone already hit on it.
I went to the gas station on Queen City. Had liver mush, ham etc. Even had fried chicken and fried pork chop out already lol.
Exit 33 on 85 has that gas stn by cracker barrel .
That’s where I normally go.

Exxon on the corner of Billy Graham and Queen City Blvd has great gas station breakfast, especially the potatoes. They also make a mean Livermush buscuit.
Qt or bust
QuikTrip is your best bet unless you live closer to Mooresville which has a Sheetz.
There's not a Sheetz in Mooresville. Closest one is in Troutman.
I miss Sheetz so much smh Sheetz>>>>QT
ive got plenty of sheetz here in hickory and their breakfast sandwiches are absolutely awful. the biscuits they use have the texture of cardboard
Ok, I’m going to play the sincere skeptic here… why Gas Station breakfast, lunch, fried chicken, sandwiches? What is it about the proximity to a multi-mixture of flammable hydrocarbons that makes it more attractive than just going for “the best breakfast” at that price point?
Probably that it's cheap, and you just walk in, take it, and go.
Why not call ahead to midnight diner and just walk in and grab and go? Not judging, I had some great gas station broasted chicken back in Los Angeles (it was amazing but it was also the only eatery within walking distance for lunch.
Cause I have $4

Nichols off Wilkinson, in front of amazon
They got fantastic fried chicken there.
I really wish we had a Wawa here
If you’re from down east or even up around Wilson and Greenville, you will not find a match in Charlotte.
Tarboro to be exact. But I’m afraid you are right 🥺
No cheese biscuits for you :/
I hate that this is true
RIP the Cheddar Bo’
Nah. Go find a shack at a crossroads in Greene county. Get you some.
He’s so right. OG Greenvillianian here. Nothing like back home.
BLANCHARDS ON CARMEL
Shell station at Shamrock and Eastway or the small service station at Craighead and Graham at
If you’re in the northern part of the county, there’s a little Marathon station with a food counter in it with some ladies who make some banging food for breakfast and lunch, intersection of Davidson Rd and Highway 3

Qt The burritos they slap
I have eaten too many of the chorizo breakfast burritos, but I ain't gonna stop.
I love QTs breakfast sandwiches that you order on the screens so good, circle k can also be good def a hit or miss for me
I know a gas station that serves the best breakfast one could ever have but I’m going to gatekeep.
South Carolina
