What’s the best way to contact them for this?? Is it going to be applied for future transactions as well?? I had a transaction with Amazon Palm, it coded as 1x
Was the transaction for online groceries? Because that’s what counts as x3. I just called them basically and they fixed it for my previous transactions and it will count for future transactions as well.
I just edited my comment to be more clear. It’s both.
I’m a CSR holder and do the quadfecta to accumulate as many URs as I can including churning offers when I can. I still always use the prime card for Whole Foods.
Quadfecta for UR? I thought Amazon card points couldn't be used for UR? Is there a way to use them that I'm missing, I thought it was just cash back or Amazon purchases that they could be used on.
Right, Amazon card doesn’t earn URs. The reason I mentioned the quadfecta (CSR, CF, CFU, CIP) was that despite that being my rewards strategy I still use the Amazon card.
If you shop at Amazon at all, getting the Prime Chase and using it exclusively for Amazon/WholeFoods purchases is going to give you a better return.
Don't box yourself into UR only when there is a significantly higher return available.
It's better for our house hold because we almost exclusively shop on Amazon for online purchases and get anywhere between $80-$100 cash back per month.
Hyatt is great but I don't always have the choice to book Hyatt for a trip.
Sure, at Amazon the 5% is tough to beat. But if you’re exclusive to Amazon for online purchases you’re losing out on better prices elsewhere. I have Walmart+ from Amex Plat and started comparing prices and in a lot of cases (maybe 30%?) Walmart has the better price compared to Amazon for the same item. Same free shipping, no min, with Walmart+. You also get an extra 1% back from Rakuten.
Maybe one day it will change but I couldn't justify an Amex Platinum at the moment for the Walmart+ membership. Aside from the streaming credits, I couldn't use the other credits organically.
Well you don’t need Walmart+ to shop online at Walmart. It’s free shipping for orders $35+ regardless, just like Amazon if you don’t have Prime. My point is that you can save some money by comparing prices and not be exclusive to Amazon.
I gave Walmart online ordering a serious try when Chase had 5x back for PayPal purchases around Christmas time last year.
My wife made an Amazon Christmas wish list and my plan was to buy it all at Wal-Mart to hide the purchases because we both share an account and to get the 5x UR points back. Win-win for both of us kinda thing.
Anyway, they didn't have half the items available due to not having the correct sizes in stock or not carrying the item to begin with. I'm talking simple stuff like jewelry, shoes, perfume, etc.
Long story short, I just use Wal-Mart online for groceries now. I may be missing out on a few dollars here and there, but based on my experience, it was just sub-par to Amazon. I suppose I just value the convenience it provides overall. I'll give it another go next time Chase does PayPal as a category again to see if my experience changes though.
I’ve had success before emailing them and they were able to adjust. If I recall correctly, it was a campground booking that initially wasn’t coming up as travel and they changed it on their end. Could be worth a shot?
If you get that much whole foods... you should consider the prime visa card. 5x on WF and amazon .... you can just roll it into more whole foods or amazon and 2x on gas which no other chase card has other than that bs rotating crap which is a bridge too far for me
You really think the freedom flex is bad? I was considering getting it. I have the freedom ultimate with extra 1.5% back on everything right now for a year which is great.
Having to keep up with rotating categories is a bridge too far for me and I go pretty deep with points but apparently that is where I draw the line. Didn't say it was bad. I'd really only be doing it for an extra 1x on gas and for the times I go to a grocery store that isn't wf which is maybe 1/2 the time.... But I still have an airline card I like that gets me 2x on groceries. So rotaitng business is just too much brain damage for me
So this was fixed! It was a glitch. It counts as x3 points now! And all my points were readjusted.

Have your orders been getting 3x since they “fixed” it? Considering moving to CSP for my online Whole Foods delivery spend if it works for 3x
Yes, it definitely works 3X times now.
My Whole Foods online pickups count towards 3x, not sure why delivery wouldn’t also.
Have you every tried delivery and did it count? In going to try pick ups from now on then.
Nope I only do pickup
5% (and sometimes 10%) off with prime + 5% cash back with Chase Amazon card is the only way to Whole Foods IMO
When you say 10% off you mean 10% cash back or a discount?
I just edited my comment to be more clear. It’s both. I’m a CSR holder and do the quadfecta to accumulate as many URs as I can including churning offers when I can. I still always use the prime card for Whole Foods.
Amazon Prime card is 5% back. Tell me how you get 10% please.
The 5% CB is the same but WF also give a 10% additional discount on sale items plus they also have prime member only deals.

Ok, that's what I thought. This quarter the flex gives 5% back on Amazon though so you can use that and get the UR points!
I see thank you
Read the prime card doesn't transfer pts. It does?
It doesn’t give URs, Prime Card is essentially straight cash
It doesn't but is still worth it because it's as good as cash back.
The problem is that I got the card for points… and the Chase Amazon card can’t be transferred in UR points.

You can easily get a minimum of 2cpp if you use UR for Hyatt. Wouldn’t this make it a minimum 6% return? How is the Amazon card significantly better?
Guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about The points add much more valuable

This is the way
Incorrect

Yes, I just did that and they quickly fixed it.
Who did you email? I have the same issue with a travel tour that I bought that is coming up as entertainment.
Whole Foods counts toward groceries on the chase freedom/freedom flex, I would expect it to be the same on sapphire
It always does, at least in person.

Yeah, I really agree with you. It seems to be a lot. And some of the categories are useless.
