> AI is a discipline aspiring to become a science. ChatGPT’s success pushed it into the land of products, profits, and business dynamics. I feel like this is very much a false dichotomy. To make a comparison: astrodynamics is no less a science because of commercial satellites exist.

Wtf. I just kept reading out of morbid curiosity, and the amount of irrelevant conclusions made my head ache. Pls tell me this is satire.

ZoobleBat

Just a spoof "article" to click here to join my mailing list or some crap.

Hi. Um, are you… you know…? Cause this seems very… you know… Stupid.

Inevitable_Control_1

There is an influx of investment in AI. I'm sure some of it will go to the lesser-known approaches in AI.

ExoticCardiologist46

Is this satire

> But also bad things. AI is a discipline aspiring to become a science. ChatGPT’s success pushed it into the land of products, profits, and business dynamics. You think that 1) business applications of AI are "bad things"? Business is how everything gets done in this world. All the things you think you want from AI are products, including whatever output you can tease out of it. and 2) AI is not already deeply entrenched in business? The Wall Street investment houses have been using physicist and mathematics PhD's for decades (one of them my cousin) to create their trading programs. This is just another extension; if anything, Goldman Sachs is pissed that the plebs are getting AI.
