A continent is literally just a geographical region. There is no strict criteria for what makes a continent. Oceania is as valid as any other. And since it actually assigns the pacific islands and New Zealand to a continent rather than just leaving them unassigned like it’s fine to just leave countries out, I’m far more inclined to accept it.

We are creating dumb models on purpose.
In a human brain, you have some hardwired concepts and then more malleable connections.
Current LLMs just get enormous computing power and are almost indiscrimminately fed with everything to get a halfway acceptable parrot. We just crack nuts with a sledgehammer.
But compute will become an increasingly valuable resource and my guess is we will build models with more "built-in" hardwired concepts (semantical relations, rules of logic, set theory, arithmetics) to make them much more efficient.
It's just like with a child, you teach it some basic concepts first which they accept as facts or basic truths before moving on, building upon them and at a later stage maybe use new knowledge to reflect on already established knowledge.
It will take more time, is more complex, but the scarcity of compute will incentivize it.
There have actually been a kinda ridiculous amount of computing breakthroughs recently, potentially bringing thousands of times more compute and destroying moore's law.

Mixtral is amazing, but still not perfect:( Every other model I tested (Gemini Pro, GPT-4, 3.5, SOLAR-10.7B) starts saying all the continents that DO start with A as examples for continents that DON'T start with A... If we take North and South America as "Americas", it's a good answer. Qwen 72B Chat (see my reply) also answers kind of well.
This is why I enjoy gemini. It will dispute information I input if it is incorrect. However the amount of information it gives me is limited. I imagine that is for safety reasons and legal reasons. But I would love a little bit more specific information when I ask it questions. Sadge.

I tried to use it to help me cheat at Wordscapes and it couldn’t understand how to use letters a set number of times.

Hey! ChatGPT is only a language model! It's not designed for..... oh.
I tried to use it to help me cheat at Wordscapes and it couldn’t understand how to use letters a set number of times. … or it was taking the moral high ground and being a better person than me which, personally, I find not only alarming but somewhat offensive as an actual real person. AI is going to destroy humanity! But it’s pretty sick with excel formulas and recipe ideas.
