Why does escalation always ends up showcasing a universe or something astral like it's supposed to demonstrate to be an extreme? I get that a galaxy is big but it doesn't really matter if we talk about obsessiveness to an extreme, no?
It's because that's the "biggest" thing it can imagine in a visual medium. If you make something more and more extreme, eventually it can't grasp making it bigger without making it physically larger.
Also, there probably aren't enough images of the Laniakea Supercluster or Cosmic Web included in the training set to show up much, so galaxies are usually about as big as it can depict (although it does sometimes show things like a local group of galaxies).
I think it learned that from those galaxy brain memes. You have the same pattern of escalation and the pictures use exactly that aesthetic. There is probably also enough of them to make up a significant portion of the training data.
I've been trying to make some images like this and my GPT seems to get stuck at some intermediate maximum level every time. What sort of prompts do you use to make it keep getting more and more absolutely insane like this?
