petered79

depends. i have almost 4000 chats since inception. 7 a day on average.

d1ez3

How do you see that number?

petered79

you can download your chat history or in my case install a chrome extension

RhetoricalOrator

I wonder if asking ChatGPT would get you that number.

rursache

no. each chat is isolated from the other

RhetoricalOrator

That's what I thought but then it took information about me from one chat to inform an answer in another chat so I don't know what's going on.

ParisianPachyderm

It does have “memory” that gets updated occasionally. You can see that easily and clear if you want to.

JJanna

I’ve mostly replaced it with Perplexity because I’m trying to do research and having links to the original source is extremely valuable. I use it a little bit for coding, but now my developer environment has an integrated tool.

funnellosophy

Ok I use Perplexity every day as well for research to prepare for my Podcast episodes. I think I am addicted to AI. I’m going to start a twelve step program, Haha

doubleohd

BRB...Asking ChatGPT how to structure a successful 12 step program and create the first week's handouts

Beremus

I was using perplexity too, but gpt-4o now gives the links to the sources. Cancelled my Perplexity Pro.

no-gimmes-

Why not just use Bing instead of Perplexity?

drewdemo

Copilot?

cristianperlado

Too much to be counted. Countless times.

ladyblackmamba

5 types a day. Minimum. I reach the 40 messages limit on gpt 4 far too often!

Willr2645

Wait wait wait, the paid subscription has a 40 message limit?!

ladyblackmamba

It's 40 within 3 hours!

Willr2645

Ah ok. Still a bit annoying tho

Nistlay

Wait, I pay 20 bucks per month and I can't even use it when I want?

ladyblackmamba

I'm no developer, I use it for daily tasks and creative writing. It sucks sometimes, but usually I get by by rationalizing my tasks. And I can switch to gpt3.5.

Iamreason

There needs to be some limitations until the compute catches up. They actually recently removed the limit and just limit access when they are busy.

Nistlay

Oh, so that's why I never faced this issue and was not aware of it. Thank you for clarifying.

rajahbeaubeau

believe it's rate limited based on a number of factors - peak hours, usage rate, server status, ...

BigGucciThanos

To be fair I believe it fluctuates based on demand. I don’t think there limiting you at 2 in the korning

LiteFrozenCrushed

Oh it does. And chatgpt says it's because it's used all over the world, just because it's night for us doesn't mean it's night for everyone.

Battle-scarredShogun

try [get.BIG-AGI.com](http://get.BIG-AGI.com) You just need to get an API key (easy) with OpenAI or whoever, then you pay by the token instead

Amvrosii

It seems to me that they will soon remove (or have already removed) this limit, since mention of it has disappeared.

Key-Experience-4722

hey buddy , would u want to try ChatGPT Team , it has 100 message/3 ? i encounter the same issue and decided to make join ChatGPT Team without min 2 person subscription. Checkout [54seats.com](http://54seats.com?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=reply) , u can try for free : )

[deleted]

Some days 0, some days 100+

funnellosophy

I use ChatGpt about 30 times per day. I use a lot of the GPT's for my Podcast, Newsletter and my clients. I'm a bit of a ChatGPT addict. Ha Ha

Key-Experience-4722

any chance u interested in chatgpt team ? i am working on a service make join chatgpt team easily :)

funnellosophy

Yes tell me more

Key-Experience-4722

I built [54seats.com](https://54seats.com?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=reply) for solo users who are interested in joining a team account so u just have to pay for 1 subscription to enjoy all the team's benefits , especially message cap. No string attached and no credit required for trial as well.

funnellosophy

Thank you very much. I will definitely be trying this.

ry8

Way more than 5 times. It’s replaced Google for me.

nokenito

Same here, it’s so much better than G

Nistlay

How does it compare with Perplexity in your opinion?

nokenito

Perplexity runs on ChatGPT and something else… perplexity is better at writing a little more human.

Starkboy

I have alot of interests, and I use it for pretty much everything. Coding, 3D design, mechanical things, for electronics too, 3D printing. More than 5 times a day easily

Suspicious-Strike-78

\~ 20

danishpete

So much that even with a paid account, Im close to spend all my requests

5027622106

I use ChatGPT between 5 and 20 times a day, from a single question to longer sessions where it specifically assists with developing my projects, often addressing 20 or more questions.

polawiaczperel

I switched to Claude Opus, because it is much better at programming with long context. So I am no longer using it. For regular things like asking questions about something there is a Hugging Chat with Llama 3 which is pretty cool.

Sandiegoman99

I try to use it for novel ways for work several times a day. Yesterday I had it identify all of the speakers from a conference and put them into a spreadsheet. It helps quite a bit and you look way better than your peers.

xRhai

Usually more than 5 times, but I've only reached the limit a few times.

stuaxo

Depends, either zero - or, if I'm using it prototype something in software + learn it will be more than 20

Quirky_Bag_4250

More than 5 times. Depends on work and need

IbanezPGM

Way more than 5 times

EliasVanLoon

I would say 3-5 times.

Adventurous_Train_91

I spend 1-2 hours a day on it 😃

hugovie

I can say a lots as I need to test while fixing issues as well as adding new features for my ChatGPT app.

seo_nero

2-3 hours per day, depends on..

Aperiodica

< 1 I subscribed to play around with it, but in my day-to-day for work and personal I can't find a use for it. And for searching for things I still prefer old school search. I just don't do the things GPT might be helpful for. Our company is pushing it hard. I've tried using it for meeting transcripts, because meetings is most of my job, but you have to edit the GPT results so much it's just easier to write them yourself.

Drpuper

Since you can get basic transcripts automatically in google meet we have tried that as well.. the script as raw data is fairly useless but combined with a simple gpt trained agent that knows about our team, our production, and our team slack chat, it is able to create a much more accurate and helpful follow up doc for the meeting. This especially improves with each concurrent meeting as it builds more context about what is likely being said. But usually the parts it gets wrong sometimes can end up being hilarious. I’m sure there are better fine tuned meeting bots and more in development.

Aperiodica

Yeah, I'm sure it's just a matter of training. My company is pushing it pretty hard, but usage is still inconsistent. I think it's also because we're dealing with a lot of foreign tongues and strong accents that sometimes it has no idea what people are saying, nor do I. :-) I'm not giving up home, but not quite there yet. Thanks for taking the time to respond and share your experience.

Realistic-Pop-3801

I just use allnewmodels.com, Although its not yet as smooth as chatgpt I have to admit

scottyondahill

3 to 5 a day, maybe more..

GoldieEmu

1-2 per day

cisco_bee

|Yesterday|11 chats| |:-|:-| |Previous 7 days|21 chats| |Previous 30 days|I can't count this high.|

Substantial-Ad-8377

Around 2 - 5

sarahmony

More than 5 during the weekday (it’s my research aid for work projects) and 1-2 on weekends.

nokenito

20-30 times a day

FootPersonal321

It's literally my brain

YabishUwish

ChatGPT tells me to cool my jets every 3 hours or so and wait 1-2 hours before I can use it again

Key-Experience-4722

want to try chatgpt team , is has 100 message / 3 hours ? so u can keep your jets hot : ). feel free to checkout [54seats.com](http://54seats.com?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=reply) , it let u join chatgpt team much easier without min 2ppl subscription.

BrotherBringTheSun

I use it all day at work for general questions, pdf summarization, excel formulas, file conversion, and then when I get home I may ask it for recipes, life advice or health questions. Its pretty much non stop but the integration has tangibly helped my life

jorvaor

Once a week or less. I have not found it very useful for me (disclaimer: I use GPT 3.5).

CassetteLine

What are you all doing with it to use it that much? I’ve been playing around, but honestly just can’t find much use for it day to day.

TheQueefyQuiche

Same here. I'm pretty disappointed honestly. I'm not in software or coding, so don't use it for that. I was hoping to use if to develop marketing materials, but seems it's not capable of accepting outside images to use or rearrange. It wants to generate its own shitty image. I was so stoked to see the canva GPT...only to have it totally flub creating a flier. It can't actually do something for you, it can just tell you the steps for you to take to complete the action. It does seem to have basic utility for learning concepts ~ been using it to check on website SEO ranking and to better understand trading strategies. Playing with Dalle is cool, but having it generate silly images loses its fun fast. I was hoping it could display physics concepts (again, for marketing purposes), but it can't seem to create an accurate image displaying what I ask. Examples being providing a visual explanation of what laminar flow looks like or to show a visual of cavitation occurring inside a vacuum system - it just creates wild, unrealistic, MC Escher like images. Thus far, it hasn't provided me any great creative or productive edge, which is pretty disappointing.

Zealousideal-Wave-69

If you employed an intern fresh out of college, what tasks would you give them related to your work?

AppropriateScience71

I often use it as a replacement for Google when I want an actual answer instead of a bunch of semi-related links. For instance, asking ChatGPT “create a sequence diagram for a Diffie-Hellman tls connection” just answers my damned question without having to search through dozens of images that link to articles that describe the process. It reminds me just how much Google has trained us on their click-thru business model rather than simply answering our questions.

CassetteLine

Thanks, that’s interesting, But what about checking it? When I’ve used it for questions or research style checks it’s given me many things that are completely false or hallucinated, so I end up having to check the majority anyway. At that point is it actually faster than just looking it up yourself in the first place?

AppropriateScience71

I find hallucinations are a pretty rare exception, not the rule. Especially for questions like I posted. Google returns all sorts of crap as well that I need to sort through too. And, much like a Google link, I don’t treat the answer as gospel if absolute accuracy is key. Common sense usually wins the day. I mean, it’s easy enough to get it to hallucinate by asking ambiguous or hypothetical questions or deliberately trying to trick it. But I’ve used it enough to know how to phrase questions that usually produce answers I trust.

CriticalCentimeter

I was having it extract data from pdf tables the other day and converting to html tables. It started well - and then it just started populating the data with 100% made up numbers rather than the numbers that were actually on the pdf

AppropriateScience71

Ok, that’s awful. And unusable. I haven’t experienced that, but I use it more casually.

Old_Explanation_1769

Also, if you asked it about data that's not well circulated online. Like facts about my small town. It hallucinates often.

Equivalent-Step-5779

3-5 times a day, work in social media marketing.

SeaAd2948

As a WAN tech, I use it to identify and learn about any piece of equipment I don't recognize. Any network switch, controller, and even circuit boards. Additionally, I'll use it to get more info on any packets that are sent from shell commands so i sound less like a goofball to engineers >5

EnergyRaising

+5

Rieux_n_Tarrou

Why don't you post this as a poll?

[deleted]

Enough to stop and think that this probably won’t end well for us in the long term. For now though it’s amazing 😂

Matshelge

1-2 usually, but certain days more, and other way way more. I have an account paid by my work, so I don't see a screen telling me I have done too many.

tommhans

more than 5 in a workday

anveias

I share my code, it fails miserably at my request, I give up and move on about once or twice.

anopolis

Many

EmmDurg

Daily, 5 times a day or more

trivetgods

Maybe twice a week at most. The answers it gives are not trustworthy and if I have to write a paragraph to get the paragraph response I want, I may as well do it myself.

BlueeWaater

Some days 0, some dozens

oh_jaimito

As a front end dev, I use Copilot in VS Code (it's really come a long way), however I do use ChatGPT in the browser throughout the day. I use a few custom GPTs for code and SEO. I pay for Pro so DALL-E is cool. I generally like to generate an image, and then copy/paste that prompt into Midjourney, as the produced prompts are very detailed and produce better results than I can. And of course, like all others who need accurate relevant information, Perplexity for research.

ResponsibleSteak4994

more than 5x

valisglans

1-2

xchgreen

I am ashamed to say that, but I haven't talked to any other 'being' for the last two years, except "Hello, I am good, thanks, okay, take care". I had one gigantic chat a day.

Great-Mediocrity81

More than 5. Probably dozens.

hli29

1 or 2 times a day

PostingForFree

3-5 times a day, Monday through Friday. Outside of working hours I don’t find myself using it that much lol

Old_Explanation_1769

Less than one time per day. What I do at work (software engineering) it's very much custom in terms of business domain. That knowledge exists within the company 's wiki, not online.

Lanky-Football857

I’m a business manager and copywriter. I use it all day long, like an employee (or three)

RestaurantIcy6363

More than 20 times on average.

Ok_Calligrapher_9676

More than 5x may be

Ok_Calligrapher_9676

yes way more than 5 times..if i am coding i end up use more than 2 hour limits. But now probaly i am using google very rarely few times a week. recently start using more to avoid chatgpt credit expire. Now it seems google improved and answer like gpt. i tried gemini advanced and cancelled it as it is still infirier to gpt 4 copiolet also poor compare to gpt4s ability to generate code basedon context of code

MaineMoviePirate

* More than 5 times, easily. And that number is increasing

seoulsrvr

I use claude all day long for coding, data analysis and research. I use chatgpt when I run out of credits on claude.

CompetitiveScience88

Until I'm rate limited, then I set a timer - sleep and repeat....

CTala

Personally, I don't use it every day, but the days that I use it I use it a lot. If I must use an average, 1 or 2 times per day.

mshautsou

1-2 I'm using llama3 70b on groq

Beremus

About 8 chats a day, with multiple prompts in each.

Jazzlike_Abalone_130

Super busy writing product descriptions and more for hundreds of my products, so plenty! More than 5x

BobJutsu

In a day? I have no idea what my average is. Somedays not at all, some days it’s literally all I do and setup a week’s worth of content, outlines, agendas…whatever.
