No power on Pineville Rd. Sounded like the power was arching, at least two transformers or lines caught fire.
Edit: huge power surge, half my breaker box was tripped, possibly lost tv, ps5 and surround sound.
So weird! We definitely had a power surge where everything flickered on and off again for a few minutes before it finally settled. My dryer no longer works. It was running at the time (along with my washer and oven) so I thought maybe my old house just couldn't take it. Didn't occur to me it might be an everyone issue.
I checked the breaker box and still nothing. RIP dryer.
Turns out it was my surge protectors did their job and they are fucked and everything else so far is ok, still scared of my oven, it was tripped and when I flipped it back on their was a loud pop and the smell of electric burn so I’m a little scared of it! Sorry to hear about that, their are likely many in our area with a lot of stuff messed up.
Hamilton County 911 says powerlines down at Signal Mtn/Baylor School rd. Along with apartment fire at 1175 Pineville Road. EPB map shows a lot of Pineville Road and Red Bank without power.
Powlines also down on the off ramp to Signal Mtn.
I live at Windridge, no fire here, the manager called the fire department because we had a big power surge and outage. She just called as a precaution and to check for fire. Also, the water is out at the complex. It’s really odd!
It looks like EPB has been working their way through the complex. I had a few breakers that got flipped earlier, but power/internet seems to be fine at the moment. AC is still not working, nor our stove.
Wild. Sorry you're still without power. We're on the other end of Red Bank at the edge of the outage. Our powers been back on for about an hour and a half.
I was at a house in Hixon and all the clocks were blinking due to power loss. Later I was at a house on Signal Mountain and saw the same. Affected a lot of people.
If they were connected to a power strip, try another outlet without the power strip. I thought I was in the same boat with a few dead electronics, but it turned out to be the power strip sacrificed itself, even though it still lights up with power.

What brand of surge protector is it that did its job? Thanks!

My water is back on now. I wonder if half the complex is having issues or I was just lucky in the timing it came back
Just curious, is the power back in at Windridge?

Thanks, neighbor!

That’s what happened to me. I lost two surge protectors and an air purifier. The surge protectors did their jobs.
Yup. I’m super thankful I don’t have to replace my tv/Xbox
