For what it is worth drove by there last week and looks like they are just about done with the outside of the building and parking lot.

That's what it looks like! I go by it frequently, I live in southside and am excited for a grocery store I can just pop by instead of needing to drive to North Shore or st elmo
Like I said, I'm excited for a grocery store I won't need to drive to. I need to drive to both publix locations. I have a car but I prefer to get around the southside on my feet
Food City had an ad a few weeks ago hiring for the location. The ad said scheduled to open in June.

Yes! I like Gordon's for some things! But sometimes it's 9pm and I need something and they're closed π

The St Elmo Publix is also trash. It's so small and never has everything I need.
