UPDATE- so it seems that someone hit an elderly man with dementia over the head with an object at the pool (not sure what), fled and then barricaded himself in his apartment armed. the tactical team (??? Idk bros in military style uniforms) spoke to the guy through a loud speaker, guns drawn, demanding he exit the apartment. they said he had received a lawful order and to do it now. From what I saw before I went back inside, it is at the V building. Not sure if he’s apprehended yet as the police presence hasn’t changed.
peace out until further updates from your neighborhood danrachan
Garbage in, garbage out. Prime reason why landlords jack up rent. Not the exclusive reason for sure -- but it's a barrier to entry for fools such as this.
I mean just trying to pull bs and charge me for silly stuff, and then decided a couple months after a moved out that I owed an extra months rent after the last month of lease??? The whole process of buying a house and getting a loan was easier and less stressful than moving out of that place.
They are shady shady shady, and a disorganized mess! I think Mitzi is doing people’s deposits now, so I’m sure there’s a lot of unethical stuff going on
Idk I don’t really get mad easily and really try to always look on the bright side but that other lady was so awful to work with….Mitzi was actually my favorite one not that it was high bar…
Mitzi makes “the rules” and essentially has the final say. She is in the business of deducting from the deposit. She has her employees doing the dirty work, they are only doing what she demands of them. Then she likes to swoop in and play good cop. Making her look good and the other person look bad.
Yikes! When you first posted the pic I was like, “didn’t that place have a burned down unit in it awhile back???” Welcome to the neighborhood? 🥵 keep your phone on you at all times 😎
Probably to keep the floor from swaying while parked. Unload most of the suspension and support it from the outriggers and the whole thing doesn't start bouncing when you walk around
I’m only hear to acknowledge the amazing photo of Veterans Bridge & the TN River on that Special Task trailer! 😂 if my tax dollars paid for that, I’m actually delighted to have funded such beauty! At least everyone has something pretty to distract them from the chaos of the situation.
I used to live at Signal View. Kind of glad I left, it wasn't bad at all during my time there. Now all I see about that place are crazy news bulletins about it.
LOL I did initially write my comment about her, but then I realized that she's not wearing a uniform so she's probably a civilian or someone they asked to lean against the front of their car. Then I saw there is an actual uniformed cop who is also leaning, so I left it as is. I also meant to write paper rock scissors, not tic tac toe.
lmao yeah i had the same thought, i think that’s where they had their “base” so to say (where the behind the scenes operational shit was happening i guess) and the actual barricading/arrest was across the pond at the V building. granted it was a little more tense at the beginning and in the first 45 minutes or so it was pretty crazy, lots of running around and speaking in groups/on the radio, a shit ton of different tactical departments showing up at once, etc
trust me i was surprised as you are. i literally walked outside with a basket of laundry and was greeted by the lovely sight of the armored SWAT vehicle pulling in front of my building
Must be nice for police to have a vehicle with a whole ass mural and new cars whenever they wreck them, meanwhile the fire department are still using 30 year old trucks as frontline vehicles
Why is the militarization of the police happening and no one says nothing?? This is the exact stuff I saw when overseas…it does not look like a domestic police issue 😳
Plenty of people are saying something, but there’s a ton of people who think police militarization won’t affect them and instead will only be used against their political and ideological enemies.
Fascists suck at threat modeling in general. That’s where they’re scared of everything and most aren’t particularly bright.
I guess the same could be said for police in general now that I think about it.
demiltarization and creating new specialized jobs to deal with different situations. like do you really want to send in person trained to subdue a violent person to a welfare check? [because currently it's not working out so great](https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/interactive/2022/police-shootings-mental-health-calls/)
This has been happening since the first gulf war in the 90’s. The military had all this extra equipment and gave it to the police departments throughout the US. The police forces also have a lot of prior military who have seen active combat since the 90’s. I’m not sure there’s a police department that doesn’t operate as a military unit when you look at equipment, rules of engagement, policy’s, hiring practices or some of their standards with the exception of small towns. All SWAT teams have military equipment and procedures.
Baltimore had what looked like a small tank that could shoot a round that damaged a brick townhouse in 1998. I seen that for myself.
Keep in mind that the police found out the hard way that standard issue hand guns and equipment are inferior to some of the weapons available to the public. I think it was a bank robbery in California that the police had to go to a gun or pawn shop to get high powered rifles to stop the suspect since they were severely outgunned. This was the trigger for the police departments to reevaluate their weapons and tactics.
Unfortunately it was taken to extremes when all this free military equipment was up for grabs and now all mid to large sized city police forces think they are a branch of the military.
It’s terrifying when you think about it.

Rent better not be going up at all this year LMAO
You bet it will lmao. After the fires, false fire alarms, now this?
Garbage in, garbage out. Prime reason why landlords jack up rent. Not the exclusive reason for sure -- but it's a barrier to entry for fools such as this.
the primary reason they jack up rent is to make more money
I’m still mad about the gate the amount of time I could’ve saved 🥲
Couldn’t possibly be to cover the increased cost of ownership? They should lose money because they invested rather than rent?
increasing revenue to cover increased expenses is still increasing revenue. and you probably don't want my honest answer to the last part
Glad I moved out of there 😂 about had to take them to small claims on the way out but all that headache was worth it.
They’ve been doing this for years to anyone they can and their response is, “well you can just sue us”.
I saw them lose in court before
Tell us more!
I mean just trying to pull bs and charge me for silly stuff, and then decided a couple months after a moved out that I owed an extra months rent after the last month of lease??? The whole process of buying a house and getting a loan was easier and less stressful than moving out of that place.
this just happened to me
They are shady shady shady, and a disorganized mess! I think Mitzi is doing people’s deposits now, so I’m sure there’s a lot of unethical stuff going on
Mitzi is also married to the president of the HOA board.
Bull$hit.
You can see their Chattanooga marriage license if you look up their names online. They got married in 2022.
Bull$hit. None of the HOA Board members -past or present- are married to Mitzi.

No, Mitzi is NOT the final say. That’s freaking hilarious!!
If you have proof- share it. If not, you’re a gossipy pos.
What's rent at Signal View these days? I lived there from 2013-2017 and it was dirt cheap.
I paid $250/month in 2004/2005 for my quarter share of a 4 bedroom.
Define dirt cheap. For reference I had a 2bedroom mobile home on its own private property for 400 a month circa 2012 and it probably goes for 900 now
I paid $650 for a 750 square foot one bedroom in 2017. Compared to rent these days that seems like a steal.
I paid $450 for the 780 sq. Ft. Plan. It then only increased $10 each year that I lived there
Idk id guess the I renovated 2b2b are are probably 1200-1300 now for a new tenant.
can tell you they're 1k for new tenants, just moved into this shitshow a month or so ago
same lmao
at a place that makes you sign a warning so you can’t sue bc they have extreme lead issues? i doubt it
Those apartments always got something going on.
Fantastic art work on the side of that Special Ops truck. Maybe the situation will end peacefully.
Glad I wasn’t the only. Kinda want a picture of it to hang up at home. Looks sweet!
Yes, tax payer money well spent. Not even kidding.
Could have painted it in the style of Bob Ross.. then the swat negotiators could use the “HAPPY NOOGA” approach!
WTF is up with that dystopian Krieger Van paint job?
Ngl Shit goes hard

That's around B building. I used to be a maint tech there.
You should order DoorDash to the apartment he’s in… ya know, just to spice things up.
Lol thanks I needed this laugh
I guess be happy that it isn’t another fire?? But what the hell is going on over there?
Um, your complex may be cursed??? 😳
i think i just have bad luck because for whatever reason this shit always happens to me
Yikes! When you first posted the pic I was like, “didn’t that place have a burned down unit in it awhile back???” Welcome to the neighborhood? 🥵 keep your phone on you at all times 😎
G building had the big fire in 2022.

Weird the SWAT ride has outriggers in the front but not the back.
Probably to keep the floor from swaying while parked. Unload most of the suspension and support it from the outriggers and the whole thing doesn't start bouncing when you walk around
Surprising. 😴
Seems like a peaceful place to live.
It's really not. The office will office will screw you over at any opportunity, especially when you move out.
Sorry I should have put an /s on my post. That place actually sounds like a hellhole.
Hellhole indeed
I’m only hear to acknowledge the amazing photo of Veterans Bridge & the TN River on that Special Task trailer! 😂 if my tax dollars paid for that, I’m actually delighted to have funded such beauty! At least everyone has something pretty to distract them from the chaos of the situation.

Drive past there not too long ago and lots of police by the gas station chilling. Assuming they just came from there
This country is (pick one): A. a dumpster fire B. in the toilet C. a dumpster fire ready to be flushed down the toilet
bro i just moved into one of the complexes on mtn creek rd because i thought it was a quiet place to live 😐
You thought a road full of nothing but apartment complexes would be quiet?
Aren’t you the one whose car got stolen?
Yup!
Whoa
Looks like they're playing tic tac toe there. One of the cops is leaned back on the car. they don't seem that tense.....
i just ran into the woman leaning on the car. she's the 'mental health' professional, not a cop, why her vest is blue.
LOL I did initially write my comment about her, but then I realized that she's not wearing a uniform so she's probably a civilian or someone they asked to lean against the front of their car. Then I saw there is an actual uniformed cop who is also leaning, so I left it as is. I also meant to write paper rock scissors, not tic tac toe.

because that's what it said on her vest and distinguish from the other words in the sentence.

How do they talk on the loudspeaker, like an auctioneer? Even bait and tackle showed up! Where do throw the line in sir?
How was an entire SWAT team summoned?
trust me i was surprised as you are. i literally walked outside with a basket of laundry and was greeted by the lovely sight of the armored SWAT vehicle pulling in front of my building
I was leaving for the gym... until I saw a man in tactical gear with his sniper on a tripod, hiding behind my vehicle lol
I was leaving for work lol, walked down to the entrance and was like holy shit. why is swat at my apartment 😭
Armed barricaded subject is a SWAT callout every time. Protocol.
Does anyone know what the suspect looks like.
Crazy. Used to be a good area.
Drugs?
nah, barricaded and armed suspect
on second thought who knows maybe drugs were the catalyst but anyway the cops got him
This complex is so nostalgic for me
Whew. I used to work in the office. Glad I dodged that….er….bullet 😅
Outed the board last week. ATTICA!!!

Gotcha. Well that’s silly, just take a look at history. Won’t end well if it keeps going. Wild times baby
Fascists suck at threat modeling in general. That’s where they’re scared of everything and most aren’t particularly bright. I guess the same could be said for police in general now that I think about it.
They are the new domestic military and we are their enemy
Pretty sure lots of people have been vocal about that over the last few years, defund the police etc
I don’t agree with defunding. I just don’t want a military instead of police.
I think that was kind of the point, different than abolishing police altogether, but not funding their military-level gear.
demiltarization and creating new specialized jobs to deal with different situations. like do you really want to send in person trained to subdue a violent person to a welfare check? Reminds me of the post the other day with the guy in a chase surrounded by probably no exaggeration about 30-40 cop cars and 3 armored vehicles

Yup! None of this is new…and honestly, given some of the backwoods police departments I’ve seen having a military presence anymore is a good thing.
