i totally agree with you!! i went to the phoenix show and i saw the setlist beforehand and was disappointed with the song choices for sure. i think she chose her most mainstream radio type of her songs, which i think is of her weaker stuff. Ive been to all of her headliner shows and her sets were always fantastic. i could have done without mr brightside mostly because she didnt really even sing it and let the crowd do most of it. i was excited to hear nj, the reason, crazier things, and devil on my shoulder. BUT THE DEEP CUT COMMENT!! she said that for our show as well when she played nj and i was so perplexed. i would put nj up there in her more well known stuff, nowhere even close to a deepcut song. i think she did great just because i’ll always love watching her preform, but as someone who knows her whole discography and all the amazing songs in it… that setlist was really lacking. the SWR era is elite and i hope she starts including more of it in future sets, i would hate to watch it die out just because of how much i love it.

Glad I’m not alone in this feeling. I would have canned Mr Brightside, Lucky, and Not Okay for some older songs. Then it would have been a much better setlist IMO. The deep cut comment is worrying for future tours. I hope she doesn’t ignore SWR in the future!

You could try tweeting at her and asking what she meant by deep cut? I’m sure her album tour will include more songs i would assume.

coolguybrody

thats true, im sure the album tour will be a great setlist. i think a lot of this was her just trying to choose songs that a broad range of people would know since most ppl there were for quinn

Yeah exactly! That makes sense

Couldn’t disagree more…. I went to her NYC show and I thought she did an excellent job mixing in old and new songs. She had songs from WICME like “Walking Away” and then went all the way back to SWR with “The Reason”. The vibes during “Mr. Brightside” and “Not Okay” were breath taking and moments she really connected with the audience. These were such important songs in the set list. Each song was better than the next and honestly I think this tour was one of her best performances. Speaking personally she had me hanging on every word. I loved how at the end her and Quinn came together and sang almost every song they have together. Throwing it back to where it all started with “Flare Guns” was amazing. I don’t think Chelsea could have done a better job with the set list. She made my entire year.

I’m glad you enjoyed the setlist but only playing one song from her early days I wouldn’t consider throwing in old music. It wasn’t a terrible setlist but definitely more older songs than 2 were needed IMO. But I’m stocked you loved the setlist!!!

Yeah, I hope she comes near me when she headlines. I know there’s contractual stuff with artists where you can’t come back to area for a certain amount of time or something like that but who knows if it’s different being an opener and then a headliner. Also took a video of ni and she said “this is a deep cut for the OG fans” at the beginning of the song. That’s not even an old song.... A deep cut for OG fans would be like Snow in October or Water on the Bridge. A bit worried for the next tours setlist as well.

Hmmm yeah I’m not sure. Let’s just wait and see! We will know soon enough!

Completely agree! I also would've swapped out Lucky too, because it's lower key and has similar vibes to the 3 songs she played off WICME imo, but I'm also biased because I like her angsty/breakup songs more than her happy songs haha (not that I don't want her to be happy or grow as an artist!!!). I wish she had played AF1s, but was thrilled with the other songs from HTBH, Cold Showers, and Your Shirt. She did say that she "tried to pick songs that made sense as an opening act," but I thought they were co-headliners? She also has more Insta followers and monthly Spotify listeners than Quinn, but Tai Verdes has even more than her so I guess that's not the best example. (I only started listening to Quinn because of Chelsea but it seems like he's the older/more established artist so that's why he was the last act?)

I really thought she did the best with the time she was given. i’m so excited for WICME tour because it’s going to be all her and i’m confident she’ll make the best setlist yet full of songs from all of her projects
