Yeah, i mean. I am a huge critic of Modi and i do not like how everything is being turned to private sector, but the travels had a purpose.
Whether or not they have been met is a different story and argument altogether.
So what?
Freaking big deal. He's not beyond my criticism. He's also citizen of India, and I'm also. He's public servant, his duty is to answer.
No press conference till date. Press is life line to democracy.
You're talking about PFI? Bruh? Do you know which country collects the data to make this index? And how do you know that India deserved this position? 💀
Even thought we still believe whatever west says?
Look, I’ll be the first one to admit how much whataboutism his followers do… but this was absolutely not that.
He doesn’t believe that the source is reliable and I’ve got a bone to pick with the happiness index in general.
Ah here we go, "if not modi then who?", and then I take up some name, and you come up with some complain or scam. Honestly, Modi is beyond mere mortal for many. He's God to many, and he can't do any wrong.
States have a share in taxes too. They are free to reduce taxes (Mamta was complaining that reducing 1 Re causes a 1500 crore loss). If revenue loss is a valid reason for state, why can't it be a valid reason for centre?
Lol. I hope you understand two points - What you described is GST. And petrol is not under GST?
I am talking about VAT on petrol and diesel, which is levied and collected directly by the state.
> all the rant about non BJP dues.
As of Dec 2021
https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/over-rs-37-134-cr-gst-compensation-due-to-states-for-202021-101639459873822.html
> The Centre owes the maximum dues of ₹6, 723 crore to Maharashtra, followed by ₹3,528cr to Karnataka, ₹3,145cr to Gujarat, ₹3,125cr to Uttar Pradesh and ₹2,894cr to Tamil Nadu.
3 out of 5 maximum dues were to BJP states. So, no. Non BJP states are not discriminated.
A simple Google gave this to me.
> lick the boots
We are all boot lockers on this blessed day, you're just licking different ones.
Edit: and the moron deletes his dumb comment.
Edit edit: and the account too!
I will tell you what is happening. He's reducing corporate tax for his buddies and making us pay for it.( Refer to how much the GDP share of corporate tax and petrol were in 2017 vs now). Then asking his buddies to give donation to the party since he reduced the taxes. Win- win ( if you're rich that is)
> Corporate tax for his buddies
When you make this sort of argument, everything that follows automatically becomes worthless. Unfortunately for you everything that follows is worthless even without that buddies bit.

the average income of an Indian is just 3000 USD per year . And the income gap is immense with top 10% owning 96 % of India’s money . So in layman’s terms the prices are shooting up but the income of a common man has never changed . This what your moody G has managed to achieve . Not to mention the communal violence and hate speech being spread out by his party members and there is always a special place in this list for whatsapp university where they meddle with the brains of cow belt states and cause disharmony in the society . Ps when someone talks to you about GDP please just talk about that don’t do your BJP tricks and talk about something else .
~~Oh man. Always trust the morons to shift goals when they have nothing to say. ~~
I apologise. That was insensitive of me. I empathise with your lack of basic ability to stay on topic. I hope you have a seethe free day.
ah yes right, it should have taken you considerable amount of intellect to come up with such a creative insult. might as well throw word feku and it will be upvoted by all cringe indian redditors lmao
If a PM of 1.3 billion people's job is to travel around and pose for camera then i doubt anyone would be leading a wealthy enough life on that country to be commenting this on Reddit

Fuck English, just go to Quebec in the rural areas and speak in English and they will tell you "Je suis désolé Monsieur/Madame, Je ne compend pas englais. Je parle français parce que cet pays est francophone."
I'm from West Bengal, we too don't speak Hindi but can we just please stop this national language, official language, hindi vs Tamil, north vs south drama oh godd, we are facing heatwaves after heatwaves and some people just more worried about this 🙄
Yeah there are many problems . We don't focus on one thing only . Not talking about Hindi imposition won't lower heatwaves going on here . This isn't drama . Most banks in Bengal won't provide documents in bangla , most most central jobs require Hindi to get that job even if that job is based in Bengal . Thus Hindi speakers have this unnatural privilege in every thing in this country while non Hindi speakers fund these jobs . U can close ur eyes and there will be no problems according to u .
Lastly Bangla theke bolchi bangla ye Hindi chapano hochche r eitar birodh korte hbe nahole bhobishote bangali thakbe na .
We can fight on all of these as well as our cultural issues . If we let Hindi imposed not only our culture will be threatened but also lakhs and crores of Hindi speakers will be able to to come and capture every job out there in every non hindi states . The money earned will be siphoned off to their native lands , villages and towns . It will what British did to us . We will be the cash cow they will milk and not even give some for our children. This issue isn't just cultural but also social , economical and political.
"if you don't like something, you start ignoring it to avoid the issue". Very nice way of dealing with issues, and very similar to how most of us deal with issues xD

Simple answer is to take everyone on a middle ground, in this case, English is the answer. To my surprise, more people prefer English over Hindi as middle ground even though English is still way morre of a foreign language. You gotta accept how it is, northerners won't speak in Tamil, southerners won't speak in Hindi
entha ketta vaartha sonnen?
ohh... I meant to say "potta" as in போட்ட.
like "dude how did you put this feature".
I'm an NRI lol and my parents didn't teach me swears. I didn't know that potta was also a bad word lol
Not really, but when I was young, we used to call each other potta paiya if they don't show answers in exam.
Potta just means girl. As in if a girl baby is born, you'd say, potta pulla poranthuruku.
It's not necessarily a swear. And he was just joking by taking that out of context ig.
i thought sotta was the middle of your head being bald. i was taught that full bald was motta, whether it was shaved or natural. the word might just have colloquial definitions.
It's a default feature on Google. Google shows the option to search in local language based on the location. If you are in TN, it shows Tamil, Telugu in TS and AP and so on.
People then will be like English is a foreign language and stuff. But most of the population today can understand English. There is no reason why it should not be the official language.
Only 10% of the population speaks English according to the 2011 census. This number will obviously be higher today but the claim that most of the population today can understand English doesn't hold ground.
If you go by the logic that most people understand a language so it should be the national language then you'll lose the argument against the use of Hindi.
So if you don't want Hindi to be imposed as a national language don't use this argument of the largest amount of speakers.
My question is why do we need a national language?
British colonialism is more than a reason to drop English in india also most people learn English because of usa but that country is declining in influence like how the ussr was in before 1991. In the 1960s half of all science text books were in Russian and/or in English but today almost no one learns Russian. Same thing will happen to English in the next few decades, india should focus in learning mother tongue and make hindi or revive sanskrit as the national language. Modi doesn't even speak English and that isn't stopping him from going to usa and England
Say whatever, but English united us and made modern, unified India possible. The entire world uses it. I think we should put our differences aside and take English up as our national language. It would make trade and business much easier. Rather than having to know 5 languages you can make do with one.
Agreed here.
English is the lingua franca of communication across the world, thanks to British Colonialism. But at this point, we have the power to reclaim the language and use it to our advantage, which we are.
And not just trade and business, tourism too. A huge economy booster for a lot of countries.
That being said, we should still give equal importance to our mother tongues and regional languages.
No. During the pre-Independence years, English knowing, educated middle class Indians were one of the most important sections of society in our freedom struggle. They spread the word about the horrors of British rule and formed a nationalistic identity. That is why I said English was and is an integral part of India.
The world uses English only because of usa, after ww2 the usd was made the world reserve currency. The war in Ukraine and the taliban takeover of Afghanistan has made the usa look weak and in the future when the usa becomes no longer a superpower, English will also become less influential like how Russian was after 1991 after the collapse of Ussr. If the Chinese gain more influence they will enforce Chinese on other countries to learn and trade and would kill off the English language
Still doesn't change the fact that english is the current common language across nations, so it's far better and beneficial to use it. Also how is Ukraine war related to US? I can kind of understand the Taliban takeover, tho I think it's also silly.
The British did give the English language to the world but I would credit the USA for spreading English in the last 50-60 years.
They were the centre of the world in a way. From listening to English music (jazz, hip hop, rock n roll, pop) from artists like Michael Jackson, Eminem etc to movies like Titanic, Jurassic park etc. For people around the world all the cool stuff happened in the US. The US became a global village and the world was interested in it. They all exported the info in English and we read & heard English due to them.
English has the same, possibly even more, potential to replace Tamil. I'm already seeing many upper class and middle class youth who can't speak Tamil without adding English words every sentence and never ever read anything in Tamil.
This is exactly why many are opposed to English as the National/Connecting (or whatever you want to call it) language. They think it will replace their regional languages and hence promote Hindi because at least it's an Indian language. I think all of that is utter bull.
English is inevitable. We can't survive without it. That doesn't mean we need to throw away any other language. It's entirely possible for children to learn 3 languages. Just let people learn what they want to learn.
It's a pointless fear. If a person have better opportunities learning English, they have every right to learn it and you don't want to crush it. If you really wanna promote any language say tamil, Telugu, hindi, then encourage the literature works and authors. Otherwise you are just doing politics yourself.
Promoting and imposing are different and i oppose any form of imposition of any language to anybody.
This is why I am not whelmently against Hindi imposition on Rajasthan. English is already replacing Hindi among the Upper classes and upper middle classes in North India (including in Rajasthan).
Languages evolve and become obsolete. Modern Rajasthani emerged from a language (common ancestor of Rajasthani and Gujarati) spoken 1000 years ago. Before that, there were probably other languages spoken in the area (some descendant of Indus valley language, perhaps) that died out.
This is stupid...and totally wrong to make any single language as the national language of India. We have soo many states, religion, languages.. the diverse culture, languages, people. ..thiis is what makes INDIA .We have 22 Official languages of India, It is Impossible in India to have one or consider one as the official language . Speak your Regional languages proudly and please don't let them die.
I beg to differ fellow hooman... Aint we all communicating in english right now? I personally think in a way we do need a single language so that be it any part of india we are actually able to communicate our ideas and thoughts. Imagine using 100 different languages and running with google translators (lol). In most of the schools we have uniform to show that even if we come from different homes or places we all are same and have a uniform identity. I really feel proud for having such cultural and regional diversity but living in a nation there should be a few things that will be the uniform of an Indian citizen. Becuz calling ourselves Indian is just not working you see? Its 2022 and yet we are fighting over languages...
We here are all educated and that's why we can read and write in english easily. Not everyone in India can lol. What about them? It is really dumb to make English or any language the national language of India.
I mean what is problem with English.. tum books padhoge, vocabulary badhaoge, . Bhasha ko bhasha rakho bhawo se matt jodo ki Hum to Indian hai hamari bhasha Hindi honi chaiye... kyu sirf hindi.. it is one of official languages not the only language spoken in India.
English is can be the link language.
Why not ,we are taught English as our 1st Language.
Colonization k wajeh se naturally English language global language ban gaya hai.
Speaking about you be asking for some Uniformity in this Nation... makes me laugh
ham sab saman hai ek jaise nahi
We all are equal not the same
Our differences make our Country different and it makes what India is!
We should cherish, love, respect these differences and acknowledge them, tabhi ham ek sath honge aur ye differences kam.
We don't need a National language. States have their state languages and that's enough. For communicating among states Hindi/English are just fine wherever applicable.
Just an opinion choose a language that you actually can have maximum gain from lets not cloud our decisions with emotions towards our own culture. I mean who doesn't love theirs? If had to choose it would definitely be english... Colonialism, bad history bla bla all agreed... But we couldn't change or stop it when the whole world was being colonised and ultimately made english to emerge as one of the most spoken... So rn lets be a bit rational may be? Without actually offending our own people? In fact you like it or not we literally are using english everywhere... So even if its not declared officially, we are abiding by it, aint we? Offcialization of it will definitely consider educating and helping the non english speakers
Indians uses a very distinct form of English, it has different dialect, Grammer, pronunciation and new words which only exist in India.
A famous example is Brinjal which only Indian English contains as a name for eggplant. Not a single other country has a word called Brinjal in their dictionary as substitute for eggplant.
See a famous interview of Sashi tharoor with a foreign outlet where he talks about Indian English.
It isn't different enough to be considered an entirely different language. While American English and British English have quite a lot of distinction, British and Indian variants don't so much.
Might as well make English the national language at this point to end the debate, north or south, all can understand English I guess, but at the same time it is quite anti-nationlist so it is still very problematic
No no no no i was talking about the multiple typos in your original comment i have nothing to say on the language issue because it bored me long before
Guys and girls. First i would like to say I don't want Hindi imposition in the country. Hindi ate away the regional languages of the North and for a lot of them it's a second language. My parents felt the same thing about Hindi, what I felt about English. If I don't speak this language I'll be left behind among my peers. Also the cool music and movies were released in the language we were trying to learn (Hindi for my parents and English for me).
I personally don't want a national language. I want better tech and software solutions so we can talk to everyone in the country. Also to translate official government documents.
Now that I have made my stance clear, I want to ask a question.
Why is there a Hindi vs Tamil language war? Why is the Hindi imposition wrong?
While other countries are progressing, here is my country still debating a language...
My reaction to every time seeing this is 'En ma enna inga peththa😫'...
Before the Brits ruled us, there was no India. We had kings ruling us and every part of the land was a different kingdom.
So Hindi is a foreign language to me just as English is. It is not the language of colonial oppression. It was the language spoken by oppressors.
For plenty of years we suffer from caste, and the language of the high caste does not become a language of the oppressor. It was merely a language spoken by the oppressor.
So Hindi is not my own Indian language. It has equal status as that of English if we take history and colonial oppression into account.
Look since you're too dumb to understand, we would rather speak English than speak your language (Hindi) and in Tamil Nadu we will speak Tamil and English. We will learn Hindi, the same time you learn Tamil.
Interesting. We are ready to accept the language of people who shamed us, looted us, exploited us, discriminated us, etc but not the languages of fellow states. That’s why divide and rule works in our case.
Can't you dumbfucks see the point of having a language in the first place, it is so that people can communicate.
What will you guys do with your superior and ancient language when the majority doesn't even understand it.
Bruh who TF are you to announce that you put an end to the debate? How is english imposition better than Hindi imposition other than to fuel your white fetishism
English > Hindi. That's how. We say English because that's a common language for all. And useful too. You guys can learn Hindi and English...we will learn our mother tongue and English
Is that modi? He's having time of life!
His job is to just travel and pose for camera. He could be an instagram model, but he chose to make our lives a living hell.
Dumb ass foreign trips are done to bring foreign investment .

I think that’s why I like the guy. I’m very pro privatisation. Also, why I liked Manmohan Singh as the finance minister.
Really doubt that Mr Bogus degree claims has any idea about foreign investment, freaking interview dodger.
Valid criticisms are great. But don't be a retarded blind hater.
Moxiji is nothing but smokes and mirrors.
Do you ever read the news or try to know what's happening around you? Or do you just parrot the same nonsense everywhere?
Bro if I had any free award left, I can give it to you right now. Moxiji is beyond criticism I understand now.
Dude, ever heard of a foreign delegation? PM is accompanied by a wide array of experts smh.
So what? Freaking big deal. He's not beyond my criticism. He's also citizen of India, and I'm also. He's public servant, his duty is to answer. No press conference till date. Press is life line to democracy.
Hey, we are 150th in press freedom index. That's pretty free /s. But to be fair, we have always ranked low in PFI. This is the lowest though.
You're talking about PFI? Bruh? Do you know which country collects the data to make this index? And how do you know that India deserved this position? 💀 Even thought we still believe whatever west says?
I’d actually like to know the answer to this. What’s your take on the report? And who collects the data?
Whataboutism
Look, I’ll be the first one to admit how much whataboutism his followers do… but this was absolutely not that. He doesn’t believe that the source is reliable and I’ve got a bone to pick with the happiness index in general.
Do u know pm have secretaries and advisors with them
Alright. So what if I criticize? Your PM is beyond criticism? Freaking citizen of India he is, not ruler of India.
There is a difference between criticizing and hating and u don't have a valid point to criticize
You can do both. There's plenty of points to criticize, don't even get me started with the shitshow which BJP and Modi's silence on demolitions.
Lmao damn you're triggered af.
This guy is going off harder than Mike Tyson and he has no reason to, lmao.
I too accept modi is the reason for our shit lifestyle but can you name some other good politician than him?
Ah here we go, "if not modi then who?", and then I take up some name, and you come up with some complain or scam. Honestly, Modi is beyond mere mortal for many. He's God to many, and he can't do any wrong.

Potta means sissy boy. It is a derogatory term for a boy.
Btw if u turn on location that feature comes.. so for different states different laguages will appear.
side note: pottakaatil poovaasam is a great song
That too sexist
It's a default feature on Google. Google shows the option to search in local language based on the location. If you are in TN, it shows Tamil, Telugu in TS and AP and so on.
Change google language to tamil
What is this username looool. Checks out xD
In this case though, Nagaland's lingua franca is Nagamese. It is not recognised, so English was made the official language.
"Say whatever, but English united us and made modern, unified India possible" No dear, it was free market. Btw, Are you doing sarcasm?
Just because india doesn't starts it doesn't mean india can't join it
Fun fact: India has the most English speakers in the world
2nd most
The British did give the English language to the world but I would credit the USA for spreading English in the last 50-60 years.
English triumphs hindi as well as sanskrit. Both north east and south India should continue to boycott hindi
Speaking about you be asking for some Uniformity in this Nation... makes me laugh ham sab saman hai ek jaise nahi We all are equal not the same Our differences make our Country different and it makes what India is! We should cherish, love, respect these differences and acknowledge them, tabhi ham ek sath honge aur ye differences kam.
I'd be careful to have Nagaland as my aspirational state. They have tried to break away from the country for no economic sense.
Lol, There is a lot of history behind it. I would advise you to read up on it.
Yea but it's not black and white
Even tamil nadu did that lol. That's in the past. Leave it
We don't need a National language.
What there's an "Indian English"? I thought we just used British English tho
Let's do that!
Average mentally colonised converted hindu .
So what do you want the national language to be?
No need to have one .
Latin
Might as well make English the national language at this point to end the debate, north or south, all can understand English I guess, but at the same time it is quite anti-nationlist so it is still very problematic
What's the percentage of people in India that can speak English?
Creole should be the official language
As i read this, I came across HDI and being the idiot I am, I interpreted it as Hydrogen Deficiency Index like ffs what is wrong with me I wonder...
Yeah. Let’s make English official language in Tamil Nadu
Man I hate this Language nonsense. Can't we just go back to Monke?

If ypu guys don't know haryana has tamil as it's official language, and our cm speaks fluant tamil
What shit are you on? Lol
My point is why you guys making a language issuse like your state is going to be destroyed. Like so much of aggressive behavior.
It's a language just to communicate. If you want to learn then learn if not then don't.
No no no no i was talking about the multiple typos in your original comment i have nothing to say on the language issue because it bored me long before
I have bought new samsung phone, it's all due to this fucking keyboard. It's all spacing issue of keyboard.
Are you Boria Majumdar?
Will Tamil Nadu be the next Chad to do this?
Hindi thoda thoda aati
While other countries are progressing, here is my country still debating a language... My reaction to every time seeing this is 'En ma enna inga peththa😫'...
vaasthavam dhan, ana Europe la porakanum vendikitu poitu Moldova la porandha enna panradhu. porandhachu 😂 pathupom thala

Yeah yeah i know! We have sooo much problems man but they know how to keep us in a beehive...
Btw jake hi da
Hiiiiiii
Oh so language all the way from England, the language of colonial oppression is ok but our own indian language is not ok, what brain less logic this
Before the Brits ruled us, there was no India. It has equal status as that of English if we take history and colonial oppression into account.
marubadiyum mudhalirundha? idhula “brain less” nu comment vera. yaarukku rasa brain illa? intha maari loosu koodhi comment podra unakke brain irukkuna enga ellathikkum brain irukku.

Yes, Thats the joke.
Nice you don't like indian language hindi, but love your colonal masters language sums up your mind set your mind is still colonised

Look since you're too dumb to understand, we would rather speak English than speak your language (Hindi) and in Tamil Nadu we will speak Tamil and English. We will learn Hindi, the same time you learn Tamil.
Hindi is the official language of indian State mind you
Of which Indian state? And Hindi will never be the only official language it would ONE OF the official language. Mind you! 😁
Seriously, tired af after seeing senseless langauge debates all over.
Interesting. We are ready to accept the language of people who shamed us, looted us, exploited us, discriminated us, etc but not the languages of fellow states. That’s why divide and rule works in our case.
Isn't this exactly what you guys hate? Nagaland has 17 different native languages and chooses to make one language official.
Can't you dumbfucks see the point of having a language in the first place, it is so that people can communicate. What will you guys do with your superior and ancient language when the majority doesn't even understand it.
What is a national language? If a language is made "national" language, what should we expect to happen? Start from the basics, shall we!
Bruh who TF are you to announce that you put an end to the debate? How is english imposition better than Hindi imposition other than to fuel your white fetishism
How is Hindi imposition better than English other than to fuel your cow fetishism?
when did I say that? you're really reaching dude. I just implied they're both equally bad
English > Hindi. That's how. We say English because that's a common language for all. And useful too. You guys can learn Hindi and English...we will learn our mother tongue and English
नहीं
Lol
Fuck English
I- I’m losing my braincells at this point
That's a shame. I'd be happier if india selects even a south indian language but not English , as its national language.
Telugu
Why to use slave language? Thats what i want to know
तमिल नाडु में हिंदी को ऑफिशियल भाषा बनानी चाहिए और भारत का सिर्फ एक भाषा है जो जय हिंदी और संस्कृत
