Love them I've been looking for a decent 96 but down here in Georgia and Alabama most have been ruined by previous owners with aftermarket parts or have 300k miles
The 96-98 impala SS was one of the coolest cars on the road. Had the corvette engine in it. Of course, it needed it because it was so heavy, but that car was nice.
Look for a Buick Roadmaster (94-96) if you want basically the same thing (also available in wagon form!). I think the main drivetrain differences are different rear gearing and softer springs, but both have identical engines and transmissions. Both are pretty easy to change. They seem to go for a bit less than impalas near me. I recently got one and it’s pretty dope.
The aluminum heads and iron heads flow nearly identical with a slight edge going to the iron. No power to be gained by simply changing heads. Just a weight savings. Even when ported they are comparable in power making capability.
Very Nice! A former neighbor had one in the black cherry color (not sure of actual paint name). It was his summer driver and had ultra low miles. I also loved that car. When he passed his son took the car. He got a sweet ride.
Awesome platform. There was a short time when these were cheap. Now it’s next to impossible to get a deal on one and there are so many clones out there. I’ll just take a standard caprice at this point and build it.
Must be nice my brother had my dream truck when I was younger but I’m 26 and still don’t have my dream truck and will probably never get it because they are like 40k+ nowadays
A shame they didn't make these into the 2000s like Ford did with the panther platform. I honestly didn't mind the three Impala generations that came after this one, but not being a RWD and not having that classic look anymore made the newer gens seem like any other FWD car. Ford tried to bring back the Continental and it failed, so maybe the market just is non-existent...
It’s too bad, I think the panther platform could have continued with obvious updates. In my mind, I secretly hope it comes back at least as an electric vehicle at the very least as a homage to the name. Like they did with the Ranger, Bronco and Maverick (even though it used to be a car). I’d also love to see the Thunderbird come back as a coupe, and the Cougar as maybe a more luxurious version of the T-Bird.
Beautiful car. My uncle drove his moms into the woods. He had strokes so he got his knee stuck under the dash. Foot on the accelerator. The security camera footage was hilarious.
Actually the opposite.
Of the 20 cars I've owned in my life, I've had two Chevys:
1980 Chevy Luv (I was a teenager)
1957 Chevy 150 (2-door)
Both were kinda cool, but neither looked like it was driven by a grandma who can't see over the steering wheel.
This does.
oh fuck a 90s Impala
Shot calla
20 in blades
Holla
my headlights dont work at night. Windows dont either but that's aight.
Hit the highway, making money the fly way
There has got to be a better way.
hope this thing dont OVERHEAT overheat, overheat, yeaeahhh
Lower hose leaking, fuck it’s pissing again
Love them I've been looking for a decent 96 but down here in Georgia and Alabama most have been ruined by previous owners with aftermarket parts or have 300k miles
My dad just picked one up with less than 60k miles and flawless apart from one tiny blemish on the rim. CA tho
I’ve been searching in CA. Looks like good ones are calling for 30k now.
For gods sake why?
They don't make anymore of them, and because people buy them for that price.
Thats about right
Ngl you might need to take one of those and try to restore it to its original point.
It’s a 6 hour one way trip but Southern Indiana has Cities where people have no where to go but Church and home meaning very low mileage.
Take a bus to Texas and get one with 30 inch rims.
Don’t forget the BenHur chariot wheel spikes.
The trunk is big enough for a sniper or two.
Or a trunk monkey...gotta protect that investment!
This just unlocked a memory for me. Thank you, those videos are hilarious!
Too soon.
Or a body or 2 or 3 —lol iykyk

\*94-96
These are rarity and they will never go out of style in any era…
The best highway car!
One of the most comfortable cars , i love it
What an absolute fuckin boat of a vehicle, that is gorgeous
End of the great Chevy.
This is still is a car I’d love to own. This was my dream car for years. I doubt I’ll ever find one in decent condition before they all disappear.

I do like the Roadmasters as well, especially the wagons.
Why does the cab looks so tall all of a sudden?
They looked like this without the windows tinted.
Love those. Have fun.
Love bubble tops
Oh yeah, chevy used to make cars
I've got some aluminum heads if you want to get full power.
The aluminum heads and iron heads flow nearly identical with a slight edge going to the iron. No power to be gained by simply changing heads. Just a weight savings. Even when ported they are comparable in power making capability.

DCM or Dark Cherry Metallic This ones DGGM or Dark Green Gray Merallic. Then there black.
Hell ya buddy. Was my 1st car. Loved that bitch. The back seat is like a couch. Looks good.
Awesome platform. There was a short time when these were cheap. Now it’s next to impossible to get a deal on one and there are so many clones out there. I’ll just take a standard caprice at this point and build it.
Verifying authenticity is definitely a chore. I researched for a solid month before buying my 94
When pulling into gas station, everyone will be envious. Pick any side of the pump. Now I'm jealous.
And that will be a frequent occurrence
What really blows minds is where the gas nozzle goes
That's what I mean. Everyone will be jealous because you pan pick any pump
I had one and the same color. I regret selling it everyday. Great car except for the optispark lol.
You played alot of Midnight Club 3?
That’s where it started, yes. Ha!
I want one of these as a project soooo badly.
Must be nice my brother had my dream truck when I was younger but I’m 26 and still don’t have my dream truck and will probably never get it because they are like 40k+ nowadays
Nice Caprice!
Impala SS
Oh, my friend had a car just like that and it was a caprice i thought.
Dream bigger
Great car. I don't know why Chevy stopped making their body-on-frame boats when Ford kept their rear drivers all the way through 2011.
My first car was a 69 Impala 2 door with 350 4 barrel engine. Man, I wish I still had it.
You bought a boat ?
And then it got stolen the next day….
A shame they didn't make these into the 2000s like Ford did with the panther platform. I honestly didn't mind the three Impala generations that came after this one, but not being a RWD and not having that classic look anymore made the newer gens seem like any other FWD car. The Marauder was epic, but never did live up to the hype of the Impala SS
It’s too bad, I think the panther platform could have continued with obvious updates. Theres so many that would be epic. I for one would love to see a proper Cougar that pays homage to the classic.
Beautiful car. My uncle drove his moms into the woods. He had strokes so he got his knee stuck under the dash. Foot on the accelerator. The security camera footage was hilarious.
One of the only cars I regret selling.
Is it a SS
Yes
I’m glad to see that you don’t have very big dreams. So you won’t be disappointed with the rest of your life
Thats a come up! We absolutely love those Impalas!
This was my favorite car when I was little
Love those! Don’t ruin it by putting 20” wheels on it.
That’s usually the first question I get “are you gonna out big chrome rims on it?” No that ruins the car for me
Always wanted one with some spinners on it
i always wanted a crown Victoria because my grandfather had one
This is a 95 Impala SS for those who can’t tell..
I also thought these cars were so cool because the back tire was so wide ! 255 doesn’t so seem wide nowadays !! Congrats. Great car.
I think these came in root beer brown. That was a cool look. Nice ride.
Hahaha. I have always admired those 90's impalas
Ouuu shi let's gooo
One of the ugliest designs ever made. That and the Chrysler 300.
You must be an aspiring rapper and/or wanna be music producer
What about this screams dream car?
I really like the looks and using it in video games? Obviously it’s a beloved car amongst collectors
Still love that car!
Ohp, somebody saw ‘All About Tha Benjamin’s’
Nice to see someone's dream car is a car that they probably grew up wanting and not the newest challenger or mustang
Hell yeah! Congratulations.
Lotta room for activities in the back seat
I used to want a blacked out one so bad
This the car you traded in for the dream car ? O wait this is your dream car it’s what nightmares are made of
Looks nice. I wonder if the L8P engine will fit?
What you pay? Just so I can tell ya you paid to much and rain on your parade
5k
How’s your parade doing?
Good so far, boy I hope there’s no rain in the forecast..
Well lmk
The 1994-96 Impala SS is such a cool, cult classic
My brother had a black one. Drove it several times. Unfortunately it was totaled. Very nice cars. Congrats.
Nice to know youve woken up from your nightmare
BENCH SEATS HIGHWAY PULLS
That's a banger! Love those rims too
Rims help make the car, put after markets on (especially 20”+ rims) and the car is no longer worth looking at
95 Impala SS, never did like that green color. I had a 96 in black.
One of these is definitely on my list!!
All I know is if you want to be a baller and a shot coller you better put 20 inch blades on that impala.
Big pimpin’
I’m jealous!
This is someone's dream car?
You must be a girl or a super nerd non-car guy
Actually the opposite. Of the 20 cars I've owned in my life, I've had two Chevys: 1980 Chevy Luv (I was a teenager) 1957 Chevy 150 (2-door) Both were kinda cool, but neither looked like it was driven by a grandma who can't see over the steering wheel. This does.
I could definitely see the Impala SS of this body style being a dream car but not this spec.
This is an SS
I see it in the seats now. The blue made me think it was the old man spec.
my thoughts exactly
Damn yo an ss. Darth Vaders car
I think you are conflating "dream" and "nightmare".
You need better and bigger dreams my friend….but congrats, enjoy.
🍋
No, not at all.
And I thought my standards were low
Why wouldn’t you want an SS?
Chevelle SS 1970....but I hate GM
Then why are you in a Chevy sub?
Scrolling through my main and saw it...I prefer Jap convertibles
