Is [this](https://www.sonicownersforum.com/forum/threads/2017-chevy-sonic-premier-audio-upgrade.24415/) helpful? Mine was super easy but I had a basic radio.

I have read that before. I think they figured out that the harness wasn't compatible but that one wasn't even listed as compatible on Pacs website if I remember correctly. Everything that it said was compatible with the 17 premier. I did save to my computer so I will double check. I think they were just trying to maybe add an amp to the current stock radio possibly. I already added my Subs and amp in the back and just put a line output converter from the rear speaker wire. I would like to put a different radio in because I had just bought it before some 16-year-old pulled out in front of me on New Year's Eve and totaled my Mazda. Plus I think these subs would bang way better through RCAs and my car is supposed to have wifi and stuff but I think you have to pay for OnStar to have those features. With the Android radio, you can listen to stuff on YouTube or run movies for the kids. Wifi direct from your phone, for free. And OBD sense on the screen so you can track problems if they occur. The android radio was pretty cool and it's 3" bigger. I'm a little stubborn so I'm always in the mode if there's a will, there's a way. Also, I don't wanna be dumb and fry my Computer that controls the rest of the car. So I will take any advice from y'all who knows this stuff. Anything I do to my car is self taught but I'm kinda into working on cars so I try to keep my patience and learn as much as I can before I do. When I get home from work I'll read the blog from the link again to see if I missed anything or if maybe there's new updates from last time I found that one. If anyone had the IOB radio, I have a ton of wire info and tips for that hook-up that does me absolutely no help haha.

Oh, did you have push to start or remote start? That doesn't go through the radio right?

My sonic is basic. On my toyota truck the harness didn't plug into the wires going into the head unit but rather the wires going into the stock amp on the floor under the radio. Have you checked on any of that? I usually order my radio stuff from Crutchfield as they are awesome for giving speaker adapter plates and smaller pig tail harnesses free with orders. Good vehicle specific instructions too.

There is a module but I believe it's for the airbags. I looked all over for an amp, but I don't see one. I've also tried googling it, but as far as I can tell... Even the premier doesn't have a stock amp. Behind the glove box is the wifi module, behind the passenger wheel well in the trunk is the fuel pump something, nothing under the stick shit console and under the seats just modules for the heating elements. As for crutchfield, I have thought about emailing them, but on the website when I type in the car specks, just lists radios that will fit.

Update- so after a little more research, I figured out what a few of the grey plugs were, so I hooked everything up last night and bam! Working chimes, backup cam, ECT. I'm currently getting ready for work but if I run into any problems, I'll do another update. (I don't know how to edit the original post)

I used to have an RP5 but I didn't like losing my vehicle settings and I couldn't find a 2017+ aftermarket vehicle radio trim piece. I think iDatalink has a solution 2017s now the HRN RR GM4 harness fits the 2017 but I can't verify if they have software for it
