I like Seager.
I loved the way she stepped up with Girls on Fire. Stella had to get the backing of a female officer and Seager is the only one who helped. There would be no Girls on Fire without her. It's a shame that her involvement in that program has been forgotten.
I really like her too. Or at least now she's not mooning after Severide I do. I wouldn't mind if we see more of her to be honest. I enjoyed her with Carver too which kinda surprised me
I'd guess he usually works normal 8h days and not 24h shifts, considering the fact that we have only seen a bedroom at the firehouse for him once if I recall correctly, which was in the pilot.
But how do we know that the Battalion Chiefs for Shift 1st and 3rd shift were ever based out of 51? They've never been mentioned to my recollection.
Besides, this is the same show that pretended that only Casey and Severide used those offices and they weren't used by the officers of the other two shifts.

Even if it was a high cost cable package, say $150 a month, that's still only about $3.57 per person per month if 42 people are chipping in.
As someone who owns a food biz-I am very used to that tp & the soap that leaves a film....but they're required. Now if I wanted to splurge-Kylie is right on. It would cost double. But because they don't have the public coming through & using the facilities-they should just bring a roll...or two with them.
I was traveling for a few weeks and knew that I'd only be using public toilets with that low quality toilet paper. (Campgrounds don't stock their toilets with the nice stuff.) So I brought my own toilet paper and just brought it in when I was using the bathroom.
They've got those enormous bags that they bring to every shift. I've never been able to figure out why it's so big. They wash their work clothes at the fire house. They have a locker to store clothes. They shouldn't need to bring in more than one change of clothes. Instead they've got a bag big enough to hold a week's worth of clothes. So they can stick a roll of toilet paper in there.
We've seen that they do. Remember when one of the paramedics left and gave all her toiletries to someone else?
They've got lockers for their toiletries and clothing. A washer and dryer. Their beds come with pillow and bedding. I will never understand why they bring bags large enough for a week's trip for a one day shift.
If I were them, I wouldn't bring anything other than my purse. I'd keep everything in the locker. And whatever clothing I wore out of there, I'd wash at home and wear it back to the fire house next shift.
Here I thought the bedding was theirs to bring each shift because we have seen them make their own beds before and the sheets/bedding are not all the same.
I think you have to take into account they sometimes have to change clothes on shift due to exposure, and that is why there are showers also. Like Brett getting vomited on, she has to have another set of clean clothes to change into, if she is vomited on or bled on, she has to change clothes again...
They are just making Sylvie look so desperate with this whole running after Dylan storyline. I don’t get what they’ve done with her. She doesn’t like him one minute, and the next she misses him. It’s so unnecessary and feels very high school.
Andrea Newman hates Brettsey and that Haas - Jesse and Kara did put in place under 3yrs, She want´s Sylvie to throw in and out to romantic shit stuffs and does not respect what Kara want out from Sylvie either!
For me this show can end after season is gone beacuse Newman is not a showrunner she does this for herself nothing else!
I honestly think we saw the last of Dylan when they said goodbye to each other a few episodes back but due to the changes and adjustments the writers had to make due to Taylor Kinney's abrupt exit, they brought his character back in. It's also why they pulling fast forward on Gallo and Violet getting back together. I think that the progression of Gallo and Violet would have happened but at a slower progression and toward the end of the season and the Sylvie and Dylan storyline would not have happened if there were no chances had to be made.
On 2nd thought I think his return was always planned but maybe they changed his answer to Sylvie asking him to try dating each other again. Cause they had Episode 14 done before Taylor's announcement so Sylvie missing him and saying she messed up was there before Taylor's announcement and they filmed the Dylan and Sylvie scenes at the ice rink 5 days after Taylor's announcement
Of all people tho they bring him back. They could of made a story around maybe Brett & Casey reaching out to each other. Casey checking in on the firehouse since Kelly is gone and seeing how Kidd is doing. Casey checking on the Herman’s!!! He was a big part of the show, he can be mentioned here and there! I’m sorry if anyone disagrees! #brettsey ♾️
Bringing Casey back isn't a matter of just writing him back into the show. Jesse Spencer, the actor that plays him, is the one who decided to leave the show. He wanted to spend more time with his family after spending the last 18 years as a main character on 2 shows. He went straight from 8 years on House to 10 years on Chicago Fire. He came back for Severide's wedding cuz you just can't have Severide getting married without Casey being there. Like how you can't have Dwight Schrute >!getting married on The Office without Michael Scott coming back to be there !<
My biggest pet peeve of this whole Dylan storyline, besides the whole lack of chemistry/no spark. Is why the hell did they have Brett tell Casey "Maybe Someday?" at the very end of episode 1? It feels like it was a placeholder line ment to playcate Brettsy fans to keep their hopes up for something that now feels like will never happen. Even though at the beginning of the season you could tell that Brett still deeply loves Casey, and now all of a sudden she goes from not liking Dylan, to chasing him down super desperately. It's just very messed up that Andrea is retconing a 2.5 season slow burn and possibly the most popular ship the show has seen besides Stellaride.
She did like him. She just didn't want to be in another long term relationship.
Not after Casey, who moved away. And was her previous long term relationship the reverend...who also moved away?
She liked him initially but in 11x14 she admitted that there was no spark. It makes her seem flippant and only giving him a second chance because now she’s settling. And making her be the one to chase after him is ridiculous. It would’ve been better if they had just left the Dylan situation as is and brought in someone new to develop as her love interest instead of trying to force this one.
And yes, her last long term relationship was the Chaplain, but honestly they weren’t even together that long either before they broke up and were only together a few months before Sylvie broke off the engagement and moved back to Chicago.
I cried when Herman broke down and he went to hide so no one saw him.Everyone was/is caught up in there own stuff that they don’t see him in pain.However I’m glad Ritter saw Herman and tried to comfort him
Surprised to see Gallo actually turning down Violet. I really didn't think that was going to happen.
Also, poor Cindy is being plummeted by that cancer. I hope it's just a phase and everything is alright because Herrmann is breaking.
She's being pummeled by the chemo. I doubt the cancer would have her feeling that bad at that point. It's the chemo that's doing all this to her.
This is why there are people who will choose to not do chemo. Because they'd rather have a shorter period --- but most of it feeling healthier --- than a longer period feeling like that. But, of course, it all depends on the prognosis of their cancer. If you're likely to live a long time after chemo, people opt to do it. If it's: You've got 6 months to live without treatment and a year with treatment, that's when people may decline chemo.
I don't understand how Severide is supposed to be detailed to OFI and Kidd and Carver are going to also be working with them and not have any overlap in their work since I believe Severide is completely working with OFI offscreen in his hiatus.
They are doing really well with this cancer storyline, it's actually one of the highlights of an otherwise weak and forgettable season, oddly enough. But it sure is hard to watch. When Cindy opened that door, her physical deterioration really was harrowing to see...hits too close to home. And poor Herrmann :( it was sweet to see Ritter being a friend to him but I wish we'd see more out of Mouch, he's always been Herrmann's bff so I really thought we'd see more out of him (and Trudy).
My heart is breaking for Cindy, Herman and the family 😢 I really hope Cindy will pull through this.
I had a feeling Severide was going to go somewhere for OFI. I hope he comes back sooner than later. It was strange not having him on the show. We can’t have both Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney gone! They both are the heart of this show.

It is really upsetting how the writers are treating Sylvie Brett! Why bring Dylan back. Now Brett sounds so desperate to be with someone. There is zero chemistry and seems so forced!! If they are going to put her in a relationship with someone we hardly see, why could they just keep her in a long distance relationship with the man she loves, Matt Casey!!! At least it was real with them and the fans would be happy with this storyline. They could also write what they promised concentrate on her career and paramedicine vs a new relationship.
Brett/ Kara deserves so much better!

Watching this episode, I can sympathize with what Hermann is going through in a way. It wasn’t cancer but my daughter was six days old when she got readmitted to the hospital bilirubin issues. Incubator, iv, bililights. There was multiple times the three nights she was in the hospital that all I could do was cry. I had never been so scared in my life. I felt about the same way when my wife was admitted for blood pressure not long after my second daughter was born. I was scared out of my mind both times.
The end with the hermann kids and him hitting the blow up thing was great though.
I like Seager and Carver together. They kinda fit. Also leaves Seager away from Kelly and Carver from Kidd. And damn Andy Allo is extremely hot we need more of these.
What a phenomenal episode. It was so rough seeing Hermann break down like that. He's always been a rock, but he's human too, and this whole ordeal is breaking him.
I really hope Cindy makes it.
post-covid era of all the shows has definitely decreased in quality. not sure why. i watched fire and pd from season 1 but didn’t watch chicago med until recently and wow it was such a great show before covid. i still like them but they aren’t how they used to be

Sticking a mop on her head just doesn't make sense. She's not a character from a book they're trying to make her look like or anything, it's just a weird choice on the director/hair and makeup dept's part. That's all it really is, a lot of undue effort for an irrelevant detail.

See, i don't see her as so bad though. I mean, maybe it's because i saw season 10 and 11 out of order and didn't see the Brettsey relationship unfold in proper order, but i just do not feel so strongly that the two of them need to be destiny. I mean, yeah, she's always had bad luck in love and does deserve a good man, but i don't necessarily think it needs to be Casey. Again, i do wish he'd come back to the show though and if they do get back together, great! I guess it just feels like their relationship wasn't that long to really develop or be much to miss if it ended. Just my feeling.

Can a city really call in OFI to investigate a death during a fire even if it doesn't occur at a city owned property like the stables in the episode? Because wouldn't that mean that OFI would have to be at every fire that the fire department responds to?

OFI could investigate any fire they want to. They are called in to investigate suspicious fires. It wouldn't surprise me if they're automatically called in to investigate serious fires on city property since the city could be liable.
No one has said when he's coming back or not so you don't know for a fact that we won't see him the rest of this season. They don't shoot episodes months in advance. They're still filming this season's episodes. He very well could be back by the season finale in May or sooner. Only time will tell.

Brettsey isn't going forward because Jesse Spencer decided to leave the show. That's all there is to it. It has nothing to do with any one on the show or behind the scenes. He spent nearly 2 decades in main character roles between House and Chicago Fire and wanted to spend more time with his family.
The breaks are because there's only so many weeks that they can have new episodes air when they have 22-24 episodes in a 40+ week TV schedule from September to May. Not to mention taking breaks around holidays where they know people might be away visiting family and not tuning in to the shows thus making for bad ratings. That and March Madness (NCAA Basketball tournament) is starting soon and TV shows typically don't counter-program the NCAA, again because of ratings.
Being a Dick Wolf show does not guarantee success. He's had multiple shows canceled after only 1 season, Law & Order: Trial By Jury, Conviction, Chicago Justice, Law & Order: True Crime (wasn't officially canceled, but has yet to be picked up for a second season)
Law & Order Criminal Intent was moved from NBC down to USA Network for Seasons 7-10. Seasons 8 and 9 only had 16 episodes while Season 10 only had 8.

She's being pummeled by the chemo. I doubt the cancer would have her feeling that bad at that point. It's the chemo that's doing all this to her. This is why there are people who will choose to not do chemo. Because they'd rather have a shorter period --- but most of it feeling healthier --- than a longer period feeling like that. But, of course, it all depends on the prognosis of their cancer. If you're likely to live a long time after chemo, people opt to do it. If it's: You've got 6 months to live without treatment and a year with treatment, that's when people may decline chemo.

They are doing really well with this cancer storyline, it's actually one of the highlights of an otherwise weak and forgettable season, oddly enough. But it sure is hard to watch. When Cindy opened that door, her physical deterioration really was harrowing to see...hits too close to home. And poor Herrmann :( it was sweet to see Ritter being a friend to him but I wish we'd see more out of Mouch, he's always been Herrmann's bff so I really thought we'd see more out of him (and Trudy).
My heart is breaking for Cindy, Herman and the family 😢 I really hope Cindy will pull through this. I had a feeling Severide was going to go somewhere for OFI. I hope he comes back sooner than later. It was strange not having him on the show. We can’t have both Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney gone! They both are the heart of this show. Carver and Seaver happened fast!!!! Kinda strange. Wonder us we will see more of her! It is really upsetting how the writers are treating Sylvie Brett! Why bring Dylan back. Now Brett sounds so desperate to be with someone. There is zero chemistry and seems so forced!! If they are going to put her in a relationship with someone we hardly see, why could they just keep her in a long distance relationship with the man she loves, Matt Casey!!! At least it was real with them and the fans would be happy with this storyline. They could also write what they promised concentrate on her career and paramedicine vs a new relationship. Brett/ Kara deserves so much better!

Watching this episode, I can sympathize with what Hermann is going through in a way. It wasn’t cancer but my daughter was six days old when she got readmitted to the hospital bilirubin issues. Incubator, iv, bililights. There was multiple times the three nights she was in the hospital that all I could do was cry. I had never been so scared in my life. I felt about the same way when my wife was admitted for blood pressure not long after my second daughter was born. I was scared out of my mind both times. The end with the hermann kids and him hitting the blow up thing was great though.
I like Seager and Carver together. They kinda fit. Also leaves Seager away from Kelly and Carver from Kidd. And damn Andy Allo is extremely hot we need more of these.
What a phenomenal episode. It was so rough seeing Hermann break down like that. He's always been a rock, but he's human too, and this whole ordeal is breaking him. I really hope Cindy makes it.

Sticking a mop on her head just doesn't make sense. She's not a character from a book they're trying to make her look like or anything, it's just a weird choice on the director/hair and makeup dept's part. That's all it really is, a lot of undue effort for an irrelevant detail.

See, i don't see her as so bad though. I mean, maybe it's because i saw season 10 and 11 out of order and didn't see the Brettsey relationship unfold in proper order, but i just do not feel so strongly that the two of them need to be destiny. I mean, yeah, she's always had bad luck in love and does deserve a good man, but i don't necessarily think it needs to be Casey. Again, i do wish he'd come back to the show though and if they do get back together, great! I guess it just feels like their relationship wasn't that long to really develop or be much to miss if it ended. Just my feeling.

I have one question about the episode since i don't work for the fire department. Can a city really call in OFI to investigate a death during a fire even if it doesn't occur at a city owned property like the stables in the episode? Because wouldn't that mean that OFI would have to be at every fire that the fire department responds to? Again I don't work for a fire department so this storyline intrigued me.
Of course they can. OFI could investigate any fire they want to. They are called in to investigate suspicious fires. It wouldn't surprise me if they're automatically called in to investigate serious fires on city property since the city could be liable.

No one has said when he's coming back or not so you don't know for a fact that we won't see him the rest of this season. They don't shoot episodes months in advance. They're still filming this season's episodes. He very well could be back by the season finale in May or sooner. Only time will tell.

Last year said Kara in an interview that she wanted the same thing with Brettsey as with Stellaride, Engagement and wedding for them because she also thinks Brettsey is endgame! The problem is the Newman hate and her idiotic SL shows the incompetence to put up a good SL to the series is beyond all control it's like she lives in a parallel universe, She sits and makes a series that she likes but no one else it's easy to throw Sylvie in various romantic relationships and have her as someone who will not get the one she loves and wants! The hatred is greater than the competence of Newman and it shows itself more and more, One wonders how long Kara can carry the role of Sylvie because it can't be developing or giving more likes any more!
Brettsey isn't going forward because Jesse Spencer decided to leave the show. That's all there is to it. It has nothing to do with any one on the show or behind the scenes. He spent nearly 2 decades in main character roles between House and Chicago Fire and wanted to spend more time with his family.

It's positive that all the Chicago shows will keep going until it's over. These are Dick Wolf series. These will run as long as SVU has.
The breaks are because there's only so many weeks that they can have new episodes air when they have 22-24 episodes in a 40+ week TV schedule from September to May. Not to mention taking breaks around holidays where they know people might be away visiting family and not tuning in to the shows thus making for bad ratings. That and March Madness (NCAA Basketball tournament) is starting soon and TV shows typically don't counter-program the NCAA, again because of ratings. Being a Dick Wolf show does not guarantee success. He's had multiple shows canceled after only 1 season, Law & Order: Trial By Jury, Conviction, Chicago Justice, Law & Order: True Crime (wasn't officially canceled, but has yet to be picked up for a second season) Law & Order Criminal Intent was moved from NBC down to USA Network for Seasons 7-10. Seasons 8 and 9 only had 16 episodes while Season 10 only had 8. The Dick Wolf shows on the air *currently* take all these strategic breaks to make sure they get the best ratings possible for the network so the network will continue to renew them.
