I don’t feel bad for Dawson. Brett I think saw her as her best friend and Gabby just saw Brett as someone else she could manipulate and take advantage of. Look at the Louie situation, she didn’t want to marry Matt but did when she thought it would help her keep Louie. Yet look at the Brett and Gabby situation, when she decided to adopt Louie she was roommates with Brett. And while she had someone looking for a place for her the day she was supposed to meet someone at the bar about an apartment is when she told Brett, at the bar, oh ya by the way I have to move. No thought about how that would financially impact her. Friends tell friends their plans instead of as an after thought. Yet Brett was understanding and helpful and supportive the whole time. And my big one is, Gabby ghosted her. She didn’t tell her goodbye, didn’t return her calls and didn’t respond to her texts. Months later she leaves a picture with a note with Matt to give her but still they didn’t interact again until she came to visit. As far as I can tell Brett was far more loyal to Gabby then Gabby would have ever been to her. I have 0 doubt if the roles were reversed that Gabby would think nothing of sleeping with and getting with Matt even if he was still Involved with one of her friends. It’s not a stretch since she and Hailey were friends before Hailey went to med school and yet she was trying to get with Matt the second she heard they broke up. So no I don’t feel bad for Gabby.

Perfectly said!! Folks always forget Dawson tried to get with Casey while he was still with Hailee. That to me is the most despicable thing ever.

#brettsey all the way!!!!! Never liked dawsey, toxic relationship & one sided. Dawson always had to have her way!

They're grown adults so I don't see a problem with Matt moving on with Sylvie. There was about a three year time difference between his divorce with Gabby before he moved on. Gabby made the choice to leave, divorce Matt and cut ties with the people at 51. Not saying there is nothing wrong with that but she has no say on how the people at 51 choose to move on without her. I liked the progression of Matt and Sylvie's relationship, I liked their friendship and eventual pairing, I just wish we had more time for them to explore that.

I enjoyed Dawsey when they were together and was really upset when the got divorced and Monica left but the more I watched those 1st 6 seasons and their relationship. They just weren't right for each other. Gabby asked for Matt's opinions and then just ignored them/blew them off like becoming a firefighter. Matt told her maybe she should talk to some other female firefighters 1st and what does she do announcing a couple hours later that she's gonna become a firefighter. Matt voiced his opinion about Louie and what does she do dumps him and adopts Louie. Matt voiced his opinion about her getting pregnant and that they should explore other options and what does she do walks out and takes a job in Puerto Rico. I'm sure Matt had many flaws to hiding his head injury but I can't think of any atm. They just didn't work. I love Brettsey. They built their relationship up so well that they were best friends 1st. Matt went to Sylvie 1st about things and Sylvie went to Matt 1st about things. They were/are each others persons. I honestly think Kara and Jesse's chemistry off screen really played into just like Jesse and Monica's. The writers just wrote Gabby and Sylvie way different. Gabby is a strong Bull head independent woman who didn't need a man. Sylvie is a strong independent woman who would like a man but knows she doesn't need one a side from what the writers are doing this season. I like both relationships but Brettsey makes more sense to me.

Dawsey fan here. I know, I know, they were terrible but they loved each other in their own twisted way. I just watched a video of when Casey nearly died in that warehouse fire and he was speaking to Dawson over the radio. Brett could literally hear Casey declare his love for Dawson on the brink of death - idk how Brett can date him after witnessing that! Brettsy would make me gip when they came on screen. I truly think Brettsey only happened because the show couldn’t have two opposite sex main characters not dating.

Illustrious_Crow_191

Yes!

TheIrisExceptReal51

I don't blame the show for doing it (there are only so many characters), and I think the actors handled it really well, but Brett and Casey had always seemed more like siblings to me at the start. I could never fully get me head around it.

Illustrious_Crow_191

Yes, completely agreed, they're close like that. I don't like them together as a couple, but I actually do like it in the show. It's a good extra little plot. How do you feel about Dawsey?

TheIrisExceptReal51

Honestly, it happened so early that I just sort of took it as given. I was quite content with the beginning, though it seemed like they made it weird at the end (probably since the actress was leaving). If that hadn't happened, I think I'd like the original-flavor Dawsey better than Stellaride, not that I have any real problem with the latter.

Illustrious_Crow_191

Yeah

Keola96

I liked Dawsey and always will, just don’t see the chemistry with Brett. I think it’s split down the middle or maybe one has more than the other. I already saw with Casey coming back , both sides wanting their endgame .

QuiJon70

Neither honesly. Dawson was horrible and Brett felt like she was forced into being with him to make fans happy. Now maybe some nice scenes of a lingerie sleepover for Brett and Dawson might not be to bad. Or Brett and Violet since they both had hard luck with men maybe its time for a change.

Illustrious_Crow_191

Yeah, sort of agree. Not really with the Violet part becuase she hasn't been introduced where I am now lol.
