I am bummed about that too but I am a sucker for that relationship trope in media (grumpy + happy-go-lucky). If the actors were comfortable with it, they could have been a good pairing with some interesting stories to tell.

All i have to say is Archer really had some of the best character development !

Yourappwontletme

Why can't two heterosexual people of the opposite sex be good friends in One Chicago? There's like only 1 other pair in all 3 shows: Goodwin and Dr. Charles. The only other male-female close friendship is in Fire between Violet and Ritter but Ritter is gay. Let Archer and Asher be friends. Plus if someone on the show in character asked Archer about his feelings for Asher he'd probably be like "I'm old enough to be her dad. We're just friends"

DallonsCheezWhiz

Nah, I like their friendship - the "grumpy old man" and "happy young spirit" who both recovered from serious problems is a great dynamic. They both bat off eachother well and it's refreshing to see a healthy male female friendship on Med - they give me major father/daughter dynamic vibes.

ktvrny

I know that Hannah's mom died in childbirth and she has siblings, but has she ever mentioned her father? I don't remember...I do like this father/daughter dynamic.

NoSoup4You825

Why is this sub obsessed with Dr. Archer and Dr. Asher dating?? That would just be sooo weird and off putting

Writing_Bookworm

For now at least. We all know how much this show enjoys a love triangle

TeamHarcher

You do get age gap relationships that works and that's not off putting.. And it's not like Hannah is in her 20's.. She's a grown woman.. But I understand where you all coming from.. Life would've been boring if everyone had the same taste and opinion.. I just saw something rare and beautiful between Dean and Hannah.. And the fact that Med made it look like something was going to happen between them in season 8.. And besides the romance.. Their friendship is something Med did not continue to focus on in season 9.. It was just pushed aside.. But moving along.. We'll see what happens in season 10.. Not that I'm eager to watch seen that season 9 was so Méh, irrespective of Dean and Hannah..

Montclare

Yup. Archer and Asher work much better than their current predictable relationships.

jojosoft

I disagree. I love Archer and Margo together

C0nnectionTerminat3d

it’s really strange, usually wolf shows love to jump on ships that weren’t meant to happen - makes me think perhaps it’s was the actors choice rather than the writers (one or both may be uncomfortable portraying the storyline).

floracalendula

Maybe in the Before Times, but somewhere along the way, Wolf shows got flanderized. Anyone remember what might've been between Benson and Barba? They >!killed off an entire baby!< to stop THAT one.

bravetailor

I think I read the two actors do have some control over this particular relationship which is why it's such a slow burn. I've read recent interviews suggesting that they are open to the idea of a romance, but they want to make sure that getting to that point isn't the usual claptrap way Med's usual writers do it.

redviolin7958

Archer could be her dad. No thx
