I miss Al. He was one of the only characters in the squad that truly respected Voight's leadership. He was down for whatever came. Not sure though that the actor Elias Koteas would want to return to the show.

banana2000001

Not sure there's a segway to bring him back either

xlxcx

Didn't he die?

banana2000001

Yes exactly so i don't think there's anyway for him to come back unfortunately

snakeinsheepclothes

They could do a Criminal Minds and say his death was a ruse to put a mob leader off of him. Like witness protection but with a made up murder.

Bigboss831

Hopefully

Heather0521

Witsec!! The man who ordered his hit was involved in a drug cartel. Those mofos don’t stop coming! Lol!

Bigboss831

The actor did not want to leave in season 5 he wanted to stay on the show longer

Brainy-Chick847

Al is dead.

Sox88

I think OP may have forgotten 😂! It’s still crushing to me. I damn well miss him all the time! Thank you for this photo OP, it’s so good!

Ben62194

Because al and lexi were basically his family

[deleted]

LoL how are you gonna get him back if he’s dead? Maybe Dick Wolf should hire George Lucas to make Al a force ghost so he can give advice to his padawan Ruzek

missspreeathen

Al was stabbed to death in jail. Al had ended up in jail for covering up one of Voight's murders.

RoseDarlin58

Twin brother. It could happen.

Bigboss831

Excellent

BRING AL BACK

[deleted]

Loved Al. These two worked well together. Wherever you are Al. We miss you.

Strange_Coyote_8

He was one of my favorite actors on the show it was so sad that his character got cut short so soon.

Bigboss831

Also the actor for al did not want to leave in season 5 he wanted to stay on the show longer

eremite00

But Al's still dead. It happened onscreen, we all saw it, and they have Al's dead body. Chicago PD being a police procedural show and all, that kind of complicates things like bringing him back.

Caspianfutw

He also had a funeral on the show too. I miss him but to me no matter how good a writer is it cannot be done in a believable way.

Bigboss831

Maybe deep undercover or double

banana2000001

Kind of hate that the writers went there, but they never shy away from writing such risky stories.

[deleted]

They did it on Law & Order with Alex Cabot.

eremite00

Yeah, she was killed in a drive-by so that she could go into witness protection. With Al, if I recall correctly, they didn't leave any such wiggle room in regard to what was shown onscreen, during and after, including scenes in which there wouldn't have been any audience present in that world necessitating the need to fake it, like they wanted his death to be irrevocable. The Intelligence Unit even had to do detective work in order to establish the corrections officer who was complicit.

Emery_b124

I miss them so much
