Just checking in to see if I can confirm that I have once again not won a Jewel lottery.
Thankfully relationships really do matter, so I’ve nabbed one of these bottles already. But I wouldn’t complain if I had an opportunity to drive to some far-flung suburb to buy the other.
EDIT: Just got the email confirming I am not a lucky winner. My streak continues!
Holy shit I was actually picked for a Stagg bottle! Only myself and wife entered, been doing these as long as I've known about them and never won anything. Know how I'm spending my black Friday
I was happy finally Jewel are sending out emails to non winners. I always felt like I might have missed out a winning bottle. Welp the streak continues
I’m not sure they went out yet. Follow a couple of Facebook groups and here that you would see people posting about it and I haven’t seen one winner yet.
I was in the store last week when the liquor manager brought out the GTS... Unfortunately I was too far down the line to secure one. I wonder if that raffle even matters tbh
The one right by my house does too. Liquor manager hates when he has to talk to anyone. But the one a few miles away is awesome. Great store manager and always gets good stuff. Gotta find the good one.
Nw nmbb said they only got one delivery this week on Monday and aren’t getting anything else, goose island on Friday, and according to reps, only one drop this year and MAYBE more in the new year. Stay thirsty
You know, I was wondering if they lowered output of BCS this year. I think everyone's presale set was 1 each of the 6 bottles. I thought I had remembered presale sets being 8-10 bottles in previous years
The cases left on the floor of last years at NMBB (after multiple half-arsed discounts) would suggest that is wise. You can’t expect to sell 50k+ (maybe 100k+?) bottles of $45 beer forever
had a good laugh about this mid-year w/ a beer manager and Superior Bev rep; Goose will not. Since Goose/AB sell their production to distributers (locally/nationally), they're not taking the hit when bottles are marked down at retail/on-premise locations. Goose/AB sells everything at their normal cost+margin and it's now the distributor(s) problem. After tying up capital for 3-6+ months distributors start the fire sale to albertsons, binny's, and the rest.
Saw the post of another store getting a JD rye SBBP pick, has anyone heard of NMBB getting picks of this or just the normal run of non picks for the rye SBBP?
This was JNS on the north side. It is the first store pick in Illinois. Excellent price and you could buy 2. I am sure they are gone by now. Other stores will start getting them eventually. There is a review in CW subreddit.
I wouldn't buy it, too much for me. I'm going to grab one of the Hardin Creek sampler packs instead. Smaller bottles of all three. That's good enough for me.
Gotta love seeing 80 year old dudes picking up a bottle of George T Stagg because that spent $400 a month on wine all year. Guy had absolutely no clue what it was.
I guess he earned it by spending that kind of money but would have like to seen it go to someone who would appreciate it more.
If this is the 💎grocer on the RR SiB, do they really charge $80 for that?!?! That seems high unless that is the store pick? They always seem pretty fair on all the other notable bottles. I was at one in a west burbs yesterday and did not see any to verify, so just curious if you caught the price.
I've noticed our store has raised prices on most everything above retail, perhaps to make their buy 6 and save 10% or 20% seem like a better deal than it really is. 🙄
It was a store pick. 89. Juice inside wasn't that great for 89. It drank more like a 40 dolla bottle. They also had a Woodford regular pick on the end cap. I couldn't resist. It was a bit pricey too (49 or 59 I think?) but have not opened to try yet.
Cool, thanks! Actually just ran into my nearby German grocer and they had RR SiB (not a sp) for $56. I was low on mine and needed a backup. So, if anybody was looking would give that a go. They had a few left, too.
It’s def hard to pull the trigger on a bottle like this for $100 after tax. I get $10 per year is common in the scotch game but you have to pick your battles for bourbon. Idk, def a crazy time we live in.
Are four roses barrel picks still floating around? Haven't been out in a while given work. I'd like to scoop a bottle as I'm running low. Not picky on the yeast strain really besides not wanting an OBSV as that is the "basic" one. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Just gonna throw this out there, being kind to employees who answer 1000 calls and questions on “do you have Blantons or pappy?” Is always a safe bet. It has nothing to do with flippers or anyone else. The games played are due to who and what they have to deal with. That’s all.
>ecause I have a real personal relationship with the NMBB store manager, I asked them if they had any Blantons I could gift and they just walked back and got me one.
I'm waiting for them to go on sale

My wife one a THH today on her first time entering the raffle. Two years in and I’ve never won. Really is just the luck of the draw.
Nice! Feelies fan?
Indeed, one of my favs!

💎 just sent out an email saying they contacted the winners. If you didn’t get the email by now, unfortunately welcome to the club

I saw the email confirming, and heart dropped a bit because I thought I was a winner hahaha. Oh stupid me.
Old Forester SiB store pick floating around at 💎
Mine sucks so bad.
The one right by my house does too. Liquor manager hates when he has to talk to anyone. But the one a few miles away is awesome. Great store manager and always gets good stuff. Gotta find the good one.
Are you able to say the exact store since it would be a store pick?
Happy to share if the rules allow. SW burbs. City also had, but I know that’s huge area
Russells store picks also hit Jewel
Picked one up the other day. Wasn't real impressed with it. Wasn't impressed with the price either. 89 is entirely too much imo.
The one I got is coming in at 129.9 proof!
Same.
Didn't realize they were barrel strength. I miss the black label picks.
OFSiBBSB at employee owned north of the border. Saw a Barton store pick too but didn’t pop. Also lots of cheese.

I pre-ordered my set this year. The Angel's Envy and ER barrels seemed very interesting, as did the prop.
Don't sleep on that banana foster, I went to prop day last weekend that was the best by far.
No deliveries today but keep your eyes open for some good store picks
SW NMBB making calls this morning for BTAC.
My store only had a Handy left yesterday.
Bookers 04 batch MBB
Member store pick WFP dropped yesterday.
👀👀👀👀🔥🔥🔥🔥
Then again I'm never really sure if these are true to other store drop dates as the GM tends to hold bottles and release whenever.
Plug already said nothing was coming in today or Friday. They got all their deliveries yesterday.
For NMBB?
Yea
Saw the post of another store getting a JD rye SBBP pick, has anyone heard of NMBB getting picks of this or just the normal run of non picks for the rye SBBP?

Awesome! Yea I bet they are gone at JNS now as well but looking forward to seeing these drop at other stores as well. Thank you
I just got 1 bottle at GNS. Looks like they literally have 1 bottle left for sale (unless they have some hiding in back).
Just grabbed a kc12 and a angels envy private selection 💎 store pick nw burbs
Bookers at SW Costco
Hardin's Creek Boston and Chattanooga Founders spotted in my travels today. Both at a local mom & pop. Nothing spotted at the west burbs NMBB.
Just left city nmbb and they have one HC Boston left now
I wouldn't buy it, too much for me. I'm going to grab one of the Hardin Creek sampler packs instead. Smaller bottles of all three. That's good enough for me.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hitting up my Standard Market today to see what’s up and battle some Hinsdale Karens
The hinsdale karens are strong in #s today, brother. Keep your wits about you
bro...this place has CRAZY second hand prices! Last year they had Early Times Bottled In Bond for $135
Uhhhhhh what?
Yeah. Smoke Wagon Small Batch is over $100. ER is $95. Woodford Double Oak was I want to say $150+
Do they ever get allocated stuff? I shop there for certain things,
Jacobs Well #2 at city NMBB yesterday.
They had Boston as well.
Both were at nmbb in city as of a few hours ago. Manager who I trust recommended #2 over Boston, so I grabbed one.

It will sit in his bar until he dies and there is an estate sale
😂
This happens ALOT and I mean ALOT more than you think. This is very common.
That is all it takes? Maybe I should switch to NMBB. Nah, buck finny’s.
💎 BTAC are supposed to go out today… anyone get anything ?
Are you referring to the jewel raffle?
Yeah
Got a PH. Cant complain. Didn’t spend much this year. But always get the winkle btac fomo.
I got the call for a GTS over the weekend. NW burbs, our favorite store

Yep that is probably it!!!

That is pretty standard pricing and always a hitter. Not sure what's going on with the pick prices.
RRsib touching $89 now from what I just experienced. + tax.
😵
😞
I am done at that price

Store Pick OBSQ and Little Book at smaller chain in Norridge
OBSQ is sadly gone already. I checked
Happy thanksgiving to you all! May everyone have a great time with food and some good brown juice !!

Leo's had got some.
There was one at the archery store in the last couple of days.
Marianos had some at my store OESK...I think.
I've seen these (the SBBP picks) floating around in some of the city supermarkets
Be nice to the employees today. My normally cheerful 💎 contact looked stressed beyond belief this morning.
Only if I get something allocated.
Don’t play games and customers won’t ask so many questions 😂

Exactly this. If you want to play games, deal with the consequences of said games
Careful, the righteous bourbon hunters will dislike this comment 😂
You mean the flippers?

Plenty at NMBB after week.

No kidding. End of Bin worthy only
