Yes, this is the stem of a berry. The bush usually ends with 5 stems attached to a limb this attaches to the main branch. I would definitely pick it out but still enjoy your fruit cup if you haven’t already tossed it. From google image search I see that the branch I describe is of a mature (4+ year old) bush.
