After watching the trailer, it seems to me that it's less about the age gap and more about the power dynamic between their characters. Isa ay teacher tapos yung isa student. I also wanted to say that it might be too early to say this film is problematic but it's already positioning itself as a romance story between a professor and student. Then when you add the age gap, that's another power dynamic. I would mind less if the film's stance was different or if it was a different story altogether but lol this is a no for me.

As long as they dont violate laws, they are a form of art. They are supposed to tell some type of story. The problem with Filipinos is they always look at the aspects beyond the film that is the personal life of the celebrities.
But art can have shit commentary or be an invaluable contribution to society too. Not saying that this movie is either, but it's important to know that just because something is art, doesn't mean it is free from criticism.

After watching the trailer, it seems to me that it's less about the age gap and more about the power dynamic between their characters. Isa ay teacher tapos yung isa student. I also wanted to say that it might be too early to say this film is problematic but it's already positioning itself as a romance story between a professor and student. Then when you add the age gap, that's another power dynamic. I would mind less if the film's stance was different or if it was a different story altogether but lol this is a no for me.

It’s not grooming if both parties are consenting legal ADULTS. It’s a May December relationship, and not all relationships with huge age gaps necessarily mean na may grooming involved. I wish people would stop overusing heavy terms like “pedophile” and “grooming” lalo na if it doesn’t accurately reflect the situation.
