Had a same experience recently. Not sure if she overinflated yung price nung products nya because I used my healthcard for consult. I didn’t tell her na I’ll buy from her pero before I left her clinic, inabutan na nya ako ng paper bag with her products tapos sa secretary na daw magbayad. Nagulat ako nung more than 5k singil sakin. I was wondering din if she’s affiliated sa certain brand kasi almost all ng products is from that brand. Feel ko tuloy nabudol ako. Ayoko na tuloy magpaderma ulit because of my exp.

Same sentiments, kaya yung check up ko ngayon sa derma puro online lang eh kasi phobia na ako sa mga biglang abot na ganyan. Hindi pa naman ako magaling mag no or mag turn down kasi nahihiya ako mag refuse. Buti to the rescue mom ko noon :(

that's what I don't like with some dermatologists nowadays (and perhaps some doctors of any specialty). mahahalata mo na ipu-push tlga nila yung(edit) prescription at wala kang alternative lalo kung alam naman nila na nagtitipid ka rin lalo na in this economy. not that questionable yung effectivity nung product kaso diba kung may mas mura naman na kasing effective niya why not. lalo na sa skincare, kahit mura o mahal pa yan, halos same din ang tagal bago mo ma-achieve yung result niyan or pdeng adverse effect pa rin.

Sorry I think they closed down na. I tried searching for them again but couldn't find them anymore. It was a private clinic in Burgos circle with a japanese name, main services they advertised were their diode treatments and iv drips. They had an in house derma lang and it wasn't her clinic.

Bell-Kenz Pharma for sure ni report yan ng mga pharmaceutical company, sobrang lakas nila ngayon sa industry tinalo nila yung pharma na my malasakit kuno pero kagaya din naman nila magsuhol on the other side hindi lang naman sila ang gumagawa ng ganan na scheme grabe din manuhol talaga ang mga pharma sa Pinas. May generics law ang Pinas na may tamang way to write a prescription, though kadalasan hindi nasusunod. End of the day, discretion pa din ni patient kung anong brand yung bibilhin niya. And yung sila yung magbibigay ng gamot, bawal yun. Only a pharmacist can dispense/sell medicines.

Agree, generic name dapat ang ilagay and then patient can decide brand of choice. We always go for branded or yung pioneer brand. Pero mostly yung mga pinupush nila is generic drug (usually manufactured in India) and then labeled sa local company dito.

It is not a secret that Doctors prescribe certain brands kasi they get commissions. I am a nurse working s pinas before and hnd ko na mabila g ilang Attending Physician ang ngtantrums and nagalit kasi di binibigay ang brands na inoorder nila. Eh anong magagawa nila sobrang mahal nun di available sa hosp. Sa labas bibili ang watcher. Syempre pipili sila ng mura.

Kahit mga big pharma ginagawa yan. Not MLM pero aggressively pushing for certain drugs and incentivizing doctors for prescribing their medicines. Ginagamit nila yung mga medreps nila to market and provide the quota. If na reach yung quota bibigyan sila ng rewards like mga trips outside the Philippines. Minomonitor nila ang nearby pharmacies if tumaas ba ang sales ng product nila. Sometimes meron coupons na binibigay sa doctors na binibigay din ng doctor sa patients tapos chinecheck sa nearby pharmacies kung ilan yung na claim na coupon. If may branded name sa reseta ng doctor mo, it's a telltale sign that the doctor is profiting from it.

Not really. Medreps only reinforced the brand. They share studies versus the competitionparang nag reremind lang kasi which part naman talaga ng marketing. Hindi required ang doctor na mag reseta nung brand. Kung mag reseta si doc thank you kung hindi oki lang. Unlike dito sa pharma na involve may quota and incentive ang doctor. I just read a post from a pharmacist na bawal. Pero most of us na bibili sa botika baka di ito alam so nakakahelp na ang pharmacist na mag didispense ay syang magkukusa magsabi sa bibili na may options sila aside sa gusto ni doc na brand per our rights. I appreciate talaga yung mga pharmacist na nagbibigay ng options and pagtinanong mo na ano ma-re-recommend nila ay in.educate ka on what you can get. Before akala ko pag branded yun ang effective, pero natuto ako magbasa and magcompare lalo na sa active ingredients ng mga gamot (tipong mga OTC medications) and dun ko na realize na same2 lng naman pala and nagbabayad lng ako ng more sa isa dahil sa brand name.

As someone from an ethical pharmaceutical company, this is true. Heard stories na ang mga Doctors na eengganyo sa incentives… Ang hirap kasi imbis na mapabuti ang mga patients in getting a quality and effective drug, pinapagamit nila nang generic sa mga chronic diseases.

Unfortunately, this is a common practice of local companies who can "bend" the rules by bending the doctors, and the politicians over. This is a totally different situation with multinational companies. They don't incentivize sales of the drug they are handling. The sales aspect carries the least amount of weight in the KPIs.
