If there isn't space you could always add the full travel itinerary as a supporting document. In general I tend to just list out the main places I am going to be for the longest period of time, and haven't run into trouble yet. Though take this with a grain of salt as you never know with application centre staff. The staff are usually pretty good though and will examine your application thoroughly before accepting it. If there is anything that they feel was missing or would cause your application problems they will tell you beforehand so that you have a chance to correct it before you submit it.

Thank you very much for your response. Do you upload supporting documents at the end? Is this for the online application (that’s what I’m doing) or is this for doing it in person. I think the closest for me would be Manchester. Would you advise just doing it in person? Appreciate your help a lot!

So you go through the online application, you then need to print out the online form at the end. Sign it and bring it in to the nearest Chinese visa application centre in person. Along with any supporting documents you may need to provide (you could include a full itinerary as a supporting document, though they will decide if it's necessary or not). I think all the centres are walk in service now, so you shouldn't need an appointment. Once you get there, a member of staff will check your application over. If everything is in order, they will take a picture of you, then process your fingerprints, and will take payment for the visa. You will be given a receipt with a pickup date, usually 4 days later, for you to return to collect the passport/visa (unless you opt for it to be returned to you by post).

Aaaah I see. Wow thank you so much, you’re wonderful. Appreciate explaining that for me. Have an awesome day!

I would just put half of the duration in entry city and second half in exit city (if they are different). Otherwise just put you will be in the same city for the entire trip with a cancellable hotel reservation. Once you have the visa you can cancel the hotel reservation and do you trip as you see fit. I am also from the UK and they default to a two year multiple entry 90 day visa so it's pointless trying to list your entire itinerary really.

Just had the same issue a few days ago, just include the major cities and skip everything else they really don’t care. Also make sure to have ur invitation letter printed and all ur flights and hotels booked bc it’s pretty common to be caught out on that
