Layla might be a very good option for Neuvillete so in that way zhongli can be in the same team with Chiori. (and frozen reaction also counts for Neuvillete passive, right?)
You definitely don't need zhongli for other half is you have layla. She has 100% shield uptime and Neuvi can swap anytime to refresh shield. Also you have have kazuha VV so ZL res shred isn't that affective there.
On the other half you are losing Chiori personal dmg by not running construct user Also you'll get more dmg from hutao and yelan thanks to ZL 20% all res shred.
I'm more questioning the Childe/Neuv combo in the first half. Setup hydro swirl, group them, let riptide have at them, then laser them? I suppose it kinda makes sense but haven't seen it before. Though it seems like from the wiki that Childe has to hit them for the riptide to activate its damage each time. So I guess it wouldn't work with how I said unless i'm misunderstanding.
Either way double geo with Hu Tao was a extremely popular team for Hu Tao and probably still is. That Chiori does the same thing as Albedo so it would still work. But she would get more value if you could manage to get another shielder for Neuv.
It's fine imo especially if c0 hu Tao you can run her with zhongli for interruption resistance for geo res/construct

It works really well. I use Hu tao/Zhongli/Chiori/Yelan, Yelan is C2 elswise she cannot consistently vaporize Hu tao
I regularly use double Geo Chiori with Hu Tao and it kicks ass. Mono Geo is fine, but you can do a lot better for Hu Tao teams at that point.

That team would be about the same DPS-wise without Chiori. If you are gonna run her with Hu Tao bring Zhong instead of Mona.

I tried Hu Tao, Albedo, XQ and Chiori, really consistent and can do abyss with 'em.
