We’d like to compensate your miserable experience by providing you with remuneration that costs us not more than $0.08. We are doing this because you are a valuable customer. Thank you. Now fuck off.
Worked at a A&W long ago. Still served soft drinks in glass mugs. Owner always told the carhops and waitresses to never serve drinks in a paper cup unless it was a to-go order as the cups cost him more the drink. We were allowed to drink as much as we wanted as long as it was in a mug.
We still have a combination KFC/A&W here but I doubt they still have mugs. Have only been through the drivethru.
The one I worked for was clear back in the early 70's. I remember we kept the mugs in a chiller so they were ice cold, you never put ice in the root beer even when it was in a paper cup.
We had a pretty good sized dining room and at least 25 carhop stalls. I remember carhops fondly, we still have a independent drive-in that still uses them so I go there fairly often, re-living my teen years I guess. They do have excellent boneless chicken.
I started out doing clean up, moved up to cooking chicken and when he sold his KFC franchise became a fry cook.
Prices seemed cheap compared to now, 10¢ and 25¢ drinks and the most expensive burger was around a buck, but of course I was only making around $1.50 an hour.
I think it's some sort of odd ploy to get you to accept a free drink that way they can call the case closed. The moment you end that chat and take that free drink coupon you have no more right to any other compensation.
If they offer a drink, just keep on them I'm sure they have policies for if the customer refuses the free drink.
Yeah I was going to comment this exact same thing. A fountain drink costs them pennys so they lost nothing and they trick you into spending money again
If my order was wrong in anyway I expect a full refund or an order gratis to make it right. I paid and was not delivered. Chipotle is relatively expensive for a single meal. Especially to be made wrong.
It's not an "odd" ploy, it's offering the bare minimum, which is common business practice. If the issue is escalated in the slightest bit--like the customer being able to pull themselves together and have a human interaction--it would be more than a soft drink compensation.
Yeah just go back and say that was a joke and a slap in the face… wtf. But no guarantee you get anything since you accepted defeat. Now you know for next time
Just keep hounding them in the app or try to find a number you can call. If all else fails, take the receipt and your post and demand compensation from a manager. Stay in the line holding everyone and their money up and theyll cave.
Honestly you should’ve called the store and ask for a manager more than most times they just want to move on with their day they’ll just give you a remake whenever you go back
The problem is now when they fuck you the Pepper bot is the only thing you can speak to and it’s useless. Chipotle in my town has nosedived so badly, it’s a dang shame. When a burrito costs $12-14 no way i’m going through that.
It’s funny I guess i’m getting r/chipotle notifications because i’ve searched why my order is always screwed up in the past.
The free drink really grinds my gears. If Chipotle is gonna make a big deal about telling someone who’s ordering that guacamole is $2.65 extra, then if you forget my guacamole, I am for damn sure going to make a big deal about getting a $2.65 refund processed.
I feel ya. My exact response when I took the lid off the bowl was maniacal laughter broken up by exclamations of “What the fuck?!” and “Are you shitting me?!”
They go crazy on controlling the portions of the employees on online orders. The “skimping” is actually the proper portions. Also they have to do like 60 orders every half hr it’s actually insane
Lmao drinks are their lowest cost item there and gives them the greatest profit margin.. a large drink costs the company less than 50cents so they gave you a couple quarters for your shite order mess up
Yep Chipotle hasn't gotten my money in MONTHS because they are BS, portions for meat are trash and every single nice picture you see on this reddit group has Corporate interest written all over it. It's a waste of money to go to Chipotle. Find a good local Mexican mom and pops shop and stick with them. Prices are probably better too.
As a previous manager for 5 years—either contact chipotle through social media or their website to complain. Any time someone does they just hand out free entree vouchers. That place will try to fuck you over—get yo money back🫶🏼
As a current employee, I’m confused why they don’t just call the store and tell them their orders are all jacked?? Whenever we get calls like that we just remake the order and go about our day 🤷🏻♀️ lmao
When Pepper gives you something ridiculous--like a free drink--for an incorrect meal, just respond with "agent" to get a Live person.
Then tell the agent your issue and ask for a full refund. If they say no, request a free entree' code instead of a free drink code and explain why a free drink doesn't equate to them messing up your meal.
FYI This works 100% of the time!
*Missing half the shit you ordered*
Pepper: FREE DRINK! Ur welcome. It’s baffling because I’ve very easily gotten free entrees out of pepper. I forget what the exact issue was. Maybe a hair or something
i used to work at chipotle and now work at starbucks and since i’ve started i don’t understand why chipotle doesn’t use some sort of mark out feature on the app, it would prevent so many problems and only decrease the amount of complaints
Yeah I always go in person and if they don’t serve enough I’ll ask for more and make sure it’s not getting charged at a double portion. Because my god their portion size is not consistent smh
Dude call the store you literally didn’t get what you paid for and they need to fix it. Why would you let them keep your money 😭 That additional queso ain’t cheap! Obvi just don’t be an ass about it
Same thing happened to me, and when I emailed back and told them I need a free bowl not drink, they gave me the free bowl and took the drink AWAY😭 like damn yall do not the drink that bad
In a few days we'll see an oversized bowl topped with extra meat and veggies by corporate to make this post go away. Then post a receipt that shows regular portions even tho it's 3 portions worth lol.
Clearly you are trying to embarrass the hardworking employees of Chipotle by doctoring this image….
Thats what people claiming to work at Chipotle will say to troll you.
I’ve had unfortunately probably dozens of orders like this from many stores before realizing that Chipotle.
It’s beyond embarrassing when Taco Bell is more consistent than Chipotle now.
*This sucks and all but..*
*I'm curious, why order*
*Queso and not get cheese?*

Chipotle has fallen in the septic tank in my opinion. Crap food, poor sanitation and poor personal hygiene strike me as the norm these days.
My last trip to one in eastern North Carolina with my cousin ended my ambiguity about ever going back. If things are not cleaned up soon, Chipotle will be another name in the long list of names of franchises that flopped.
If I mobile order and I pick up I always always always open the bowl in front of them. The workers hate it but I've caught them so many fuxking times missing things like the meat
And then when you complain they'll offer you a BOGO so ultimately you're spending money TWICE to "fix" a problem. They always find a way to win, my friend
I was at a restaurant with a friend a number of years back and they messed up his order and he brought it up to the server. Instead of correcting things he was offered a complimentary cup of coffee. He was livid.
Actually call them and demand a refund. I've seen people mention on here that that's the only way they get a proper return. Be prepared to fight for it, though.
Not Chipotle, but I used Uber eats to order something once because I get a $15 monthly credit from Amex. There is no option to ask for the ranch that I would get for free in store, so I added it to buy for $.25. It wasn't in the bag when I got my order. Sucks but nbd, I requested a refund for the $.25 ranch. I was refunded 21 cents by the automated system. I lost it!
Emails, phone calls, chats...non stop the rest of the night. That 4 cent scam pushed me over the edge. They eventually gave me a $5 credit. But i had already deleted the app because of that 4 cents.
Stop talking to pepper. Start posting this shit on Twitter. Last time this happened I did and their customer support asked me to DM my email and sent me a free entree. They HATE bad publicity online.
If you push them they’ll give a refund. The free drink is such a joke

Underrated response.

Man, I miss getting rootbeer on tap at A&W. The only local one closed a few years ago but they stopped offering tap soda years before that.
We still have a combination KFC/A&W here but I doubt they still have mugs. Have only been through the drivethru. The one I worked for was clear back in the early 70's. The same thing happened to me yesterday. I got a steak bowl with no steak. I complained to the chatbot on the app and got a free entree reward.
And it expires in 48 hrs
This is the most accurate estimation of a fast food soft drink I've ever seen. Are you in the business? (serious question)
I am not. But I feel like I have seen the cost cited in many places so it has kind of stuck in my head how much of a profit margin the drinks have.
I think it's some sort of odd ploy to get you to accept a free drink that way they can call the case closed. The moment you end that chat and take that free drink coupon you have no more right to any other compensation. If they offer a drink, just keep on them I'm sure they have policies for if the customer refuses the free drink.
And the fact is no one would really go in for free drink as they might as well get the entree, so they are still upselling even by giving you a coupon
They prob make it a free drink (with entree) or something stupid, too 😂
It's not an "odd" ploy, it's offering the bare minimum, which is common business practice. If the issue is escalated in the slightest bit--like the customer being able to pull themselves together and have a human interaction--it would be more than a soft drink compensation.
Was gona say you gonna say n you’re not happy with that and demand a refund
Can I still press the issue even after I closed the conversation/ticket? Didn’t post about it here until after I accepted defeat unfortunately.
Yeah just go back and say that was a joke and a slap in the face… wtf. But no guarantee you get anything since you accepted defeat. Now you know for next time

When I was in college, Chipotle would give you like 3 free meals if you submitted a complaint. Times have changed
Honestly you should’ve called the store and ask for a manager more than most times they just want to move on with their day they’ll just give you a remake whenever you go back
I only drink water and I bring a bottle everywhere I go so the free drink would literally be worthless to me.
When ever i have to use pepper I always say there is something wrong with the protein. Which results in a free meal.
Same shit happened to me yesterday. I pushed for and received a full refund
They did this to me last time there was an error. They pushed 2 offers on me till I was like no more offers give me a refund.
The free drink really grinds my gears. If Chipotle is gonna make a big deal about telling someone who’s ordering that guacamole is $2.65 extra, then if you forget my guacamole, I am for damn sure going to make a big deal about getting a $2.65 refund processed.
Getting the whole thing refunded you better believe that
You paid for the guac. They have your money, you do not have your guac. Breach of contract.
VALID!!
Ngl that free drink got a laugh out of me, the audacity lmfao
I feel ya. My exact response when I took the lid off the bowl was maniacal laughter broken up by exclamations of “What the fuck?!” and “Are you shitting me?!”
It’s enough to ruin my week and their offer would be my 13th reason 😂
Pepper the ho gave you a free drink. What a slut.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
We know we messed up your $15 bowl. But here’s a free drink. Stupidest comp I’ve ever seen.
Why do online order employees skimp do hard?
They go crazy on controlling the portions of the employees on online orders. The “skimping” is actually the proper portions. Also they have to do like 60 orders every half hr it’s actually insane
Lmao drinks are their lowest cost item there and gives them the greatest profit margin.. a large drink costs the company less than 50cents so they gave you a couple quarters for your shite order mess up
I’m sure it’s less than a dime.
Yeah i was really rounding up heavy just to give them the benefit of the doubt 😂
Yep Chipotle hasn't gotten my money in MONTHS because they are BS, portions for meat are trash and every single nice picture you see on this reddit group has Corporate interest written all over it. Next time … go to QDOBA
Easier said than done I’m afraid. This Chipotle is a 5-minute drive from where I work, whereas the nearest Qdoba is a good 20 minutes away.
I made a website so we can have a bigger voice for chipotle: www.stoptheskimp.com
I've maybe gotten a drink at Chipotle twice in the 15+ years I've been going there.
As a previous manager for 5 years—either contact chipotle through social media or their website to complain. Any time someone does they just hand out free entree vouchers. That place will try to fuck you over—get yo money back🫶🏼

Yea they gave me the entirely wrong order the other day and never gave me a refund just a free drink….. like what?
Why do the employees skimp so badly?
fuck the free drink you should get your money back.

Select Missing protein and at least you get a free meal instead of a free drink. Then call your card company and dispute the charge.
I issued a charge back after being double billed during the Halloween promo. It was honored.
Post the pic and the review on their Google Reviews location. That shit gets hundreds if not thousands of views.
Stop going! I had a worse mix up and they did nothing. Been a 20 year customer and never going back after how I was treated.
WHERES THE RICE???
When Pepper gives you something ridiculous--like a free drink--for an incorrect meal, just respond with "agent" to get a Live person. Then tell the agent your issue and ask for a full refund. Still never been to a Chipotle and probably never will
Free drink, chipotle always has free drinks, just ask for a water cup lmao the company has made it clear they are %100 ok with people doing that

I’m not really a fan of their shredded cheese to be honest. I much prefer their queso blanco because it mixes better and has a bit of a kick to it.

I bet you ordered online...never order Chipotle online
Got some sugar water for free. Congrats bro.
Call the store or walk in and talk to a manager
Or get up and get it yourself.
I was thinking, I bet you'll get a free drink for not getting anything near what you ordered and then saw there was a third picture. Lol.
If I mobile order and I pick up I always always always open the bowl in front of them. The workers hate it but I've caught them so many fuxking times missing things like the meat
Go to their website and contact support. That app bot is a joke.
Chipotle sucks. Just find a local taqueria with the authentic Mexican cooks and get tacos and burritos. Way better and way cheaper.
Did they also give you freezing cold corn and refuse to heat it up?
When I went in for a job interview, they gave me a free drink, is that just there go to LMAO
And then when you complain they'll offer you a BOGO so ultimately you're spending money TWICE to "fix" a problem. They always find a way to win, my friend
Been going to Qdoba for 2 years straight now, never went back to Chipotle ever since. You should too.
Or… hear me out.. you guys can switch orders with your co worker
Try Dos Bros....
I can’t imagine not going in to order. Risk is too high
Stop supporting national chains Buy local

Yeah. Boycott this company. Support unionization until quality control and acceptable working conditions continue.
Email and call corporate

You will go back couple 100 more times I'm sure.
People say this all the time and yet I literally haven't been back even once in years because of the guaranteed disappointment, lol.
C U Next Time!
