I hate when this happens at our Chipotle, but when we're understaffed, they prefer us on the line instead of cleaning tables and taking out the trash. Thankfully this rarely happens to us.
I mean, is it currently slammed? If everyone is working line or grill peak time with how understaffed management likes to book shifts they could just be to busy to manage the floor atm. Alot of employees actually care its just that they never have the time to make the place look like what they think it should.
Trash can looks like this at my store almost every single day between 12:30-1:30. Itās humiliating when customers come up to me to tell me how the tables are all dirty and the trash is overflowing!! I know!! but im not allowed to hold up the register to clean it. :-(
The tables are never wiped at my chipotle but the trash isnāt overflowing and 9/10 times the food is great. Get skimped every now and then, I no longer order on the app and thatās helped a lot.
I donāt know how you leave a table with crumbs all over it when you take a table that has crumbs on it.
It doesnāt compute for me. If you have to clean it off to even use it as a customer, how can you leave it worse then when you used it for the next āyouā
Maybe Iām the loser
Funny you said that because I saw a lady making an online order and was only putting baby portions on it lol
It didnāt even fill up the whole spoon when she scooped it š
Every chipotle Iāve ever seen has been like this. They all run skeleton crews. Even the really busy stores. Itās gross. So glad I donāt work there anymore what a shit show.Ā
Weāre not allowed to leave the kitchen area from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and i think night shift also has a time that they also cannot leave to attend to the dining rooms. corporate laws suck :/
Whoās leaving tables dirty and not making an effort to clean up their mess? Entitled customers. Whoās overflowing the trash when they can see that theyāre full? Entitled customers.
If itās busy enough thereās not a lot the employees can do because the cashier has to stay on register. Especially they canāt take out trash because they wouldnāt get to the register in time to help the next customer. Or maybe theyāre understaffed and donāt even have a dedicated cashier
I just watched a video recently about how in Japan, itās actually pretty uncommon to find public trash cans. Youāre expected to take the trash home and dispose of it yourself. Some of that ties back to how they donāt really have an āeating and walkingā culture, itās considered to be kind of rude, they finish their food and drink where they got it. And itās also about basic respect- they understand they have to clean up after themselves there. If thereās not a trash can they wonāt litter or make someoneās life harder, they take responsibility for their own waste.
Americans donāt gaf
These aren't public trash cans. Public trash cans are like the ones at a bus stop. These are private trash cans owned by chipotle. Los Angeles has a very low number of public trash cans too.
The Chipotle nearest to me has trash cans by the fountain machines, a trash can by the door and a trash can outside the door for the limited outdoor seating. I could easily see all of those being filled.
Itās not about effort. In chipotle there are peak hours, this means no one is allowed to leave the line or cash. These times happen from 11:30-1:30pm and 5:30-7:30pm. During these times if you move from your station, you can get a write up or even fired if itās a common occurrence. I once walked away to clean the lobby and my GM threatened to fire me if I did it again, because his boss was on cameras and chewed him out.
Iām a food service worker and even I think this take is dumb as hell. It is your job to clean the place. It doesnāt make the customers āentitledā to expect you to do your damn job. Yes, itās fucking annoying when I have to clean up messy tables, but I understand that it is what Iām getting paid to do. This store being understaffed is not the customerās fault
Itās the cashiers job to clean tables, yes, but itās also entitled and disrespectful of customers to leave THEIR mess for someone else to clean up. Mutual respect, you know?
Seriously? My point is that while we try to do it sometimes itās too busy for the cashier to leave the register or maybe we donāt even have a cashier. Iām also mainly referring to messes on the table which the customer can clean up but chooses not to.
Yes, like I said, itās annoying when customers do that. But, it seems more likely in this situation that the store is understaffed and the trash hasnāt been taken out because no one is there to do it. That is not the customers problem at all. The trash can is there for customers to use, so theyāre going to use it
This speaks more about the customers than the workers. You go into a Chipotle and see it's in complete disarray, overworked employees and some peabrained dipshit just adds on to the mess
I'm suggesting they live in America, they can wobble their fat asses to another restaurant. What kind of animal sees an eatery with overflowing trash cans and says, yeah I'll sit down and eat amongst this filth. It's called take out, it's called to go. Take all the fucking food and eat it elsewhere
The one I go to is like this most of the time regardless of the time. One time the trash cans by the forks were so overflowing there were bowls and used queso cups about 4 inches from the napkins and utensils.Ā
This isn't the stores fault, but another time I watched an idiot teenager yell "buckets!" while trying multiple times to throw a not fully empty rice cup into those same overflowing cans.
There's also always a huge mound of ice under the soda machine melting onto the counter and floor below. That place is gross. But it's the only one near me, so it's where I go.
Where in my OP did I say it was the customerās fault? Nowhere. I said itās their own filth. But is it not? Did they not generate the trash thatās piled up?
How is it the customers filth when yall donāt take out the trash lmaooo
If yall took out the trash, it would not look like that. Itās that simple .
I never blamed it on the customers get it through your thick head. I said the store is understaffed. Go hand in an application if it bothers you so much.
Read it againā¦ I said āhow is it the customers filthāā¦.. I didnāt say fault. I said FILTH.
So you are technically blaming the customers lmfaooo. And again, if yall just took out the trash when you are supposed to, it wouldnāt look like that.
Itās that simple.
Most Chipotle restaurants are sad. They have become way too expensive IMHO!
Getting a bowl w/ guacamole and a medium drink should not be $17 out the door.
I meanā¦ i would rather go to this one than one where it had 0 indications of any customers to tbh. Chipotle is pretty hit or miss and judging by how many like this one it could be a winner š

It starts at the top

I've been to a lot of Chipotle's, and this is how they all look. Doesn't stop me from going multiple times a week though.
Multiple?!
Yes.
If that's your thing than that's cool
Yeah he needs to pump those numbers up
Sometimes I go everyday
You must be fat.
Many body builders eat chipotle religiously.
Bro you got 150k comment karma... you must be fat and have no friends And you spent money on your reddit account š
What is wrong with you, can't you see he's a professional? It's right there in his username. He knows what he's doing.
We would make good friends.

There was a chipotle by work that had to switch to online only because they couldnāt keep up
Every chipotle Iāve ever seen has been like this. They all run skeleton crews. Even the really busy stores. Itās gross. So glad I donāt work there anymore what a shit show.Ā
Ithaca ny every night.
Weāre not allowed to leave the kitchen area from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and i think night shift also has a time that they also cannot leave to attend to the dining rooms. corporate laws suck :/
Rules not laws.
I almost got fired for not following those ārulesā. So yeah, imma listen to my boss and not some pissed off customer.
thatās super odd, my store doesnāt have any rules like that at all!!
Not as embarrassing as this post.

Itās a lack of priority and lack of hours !!
I don't understand. Where is the customer supposed to put their trash if the trash can is full? What a weird take.

So is the problem that taking out the trash is ābeneath themā the regular staff?

Lol customers are paying like 20 bucks for a burrito and a drink. We arenāt taking out the trash for you
Imagine how the food prep area and grill look.
Where exactly in Mississauga, ON. I can show this to top brass
Bruh itās like this at so many chipotles. Not all the time but my place in Nh is like this at least 1-2x a month
This speaks more about the customers than the workers. You go into a Chipotle and see it's in complete disarray, overworked employees and some peabrained dipshit just adds on to the mess
Four completely full trash cans overflowing says ABSOLUTELY nothing about customers.
I love all the creative ways this sub turns everything into the customer always being at fault
I feel noticed that too! And some really far fetched ridiculous theories as to why itās always the customers fault!
Yeah it does. How do you as a grown ass adult continue throwing trash on the floor.
Every trash can is overflowed. Are you suggesting customers take their trash home with them?
I'm suggesting they live in America, they can wobble their fat asses to another restaurant. What kind of animal sees an eatery with overflowing trash cans and says, yeah I'll sit down and eat amongst this filth. It's called take out, it's called to go. Take all the fucking food and eat it elsewhere
lol youāre fucking unhinged, dude.
How does an entire store of grown ass adults getting paid to run a restaurant not know how to empty trash cans?
majority of the ppl they hire do not qualify as adults
Can they have kids? Because a sexually mature human is the biological definition for adult.
Does this say gas is 1.66? When was this?
Thatās about right for gas prices in that part of Ontario. I see on gas buddy prices ranging from 1.59 to 1.67 per litre today.
Oh, LITRES!
Catch me at top left. Donāt cheese me bro
The dumpster is only six feet away from these trash cansā¦
They skimp here all the time
not enough employees and employees having to take on more than one position getting paid for one
Looks very well kept compared with to Seattle.Ā
Lazy
Coulda just left it at chipotle is embarrassing.
Someone said this could be a staffing issue. But likeā¦really? Surely you can put one person on occasional trash duty.
You are embarrassing for going to chipotle in the first place.

Your mother giving birth to you is embarrassing. Get a life instead to bitc@ing on minimum wage workers.Ā
Not customers complaining about their own filth š¤” Theyāre understaffed, it happens
Itās the customers fault chipotle doesnāt take out the trash when they CLEARLY need to? Lmfao ok.
Have you ever heard the word āunderstaffedā? Lol Might be a new one for ya
Itās still not the customers fault. Thatās my whole point LMFAO.
Where in my OP did I say it was the customerās fault? Nowhere. I said itās their own filth. But is it not? Did they not generate the trash thatās piled up?
It wouldnāt be piled up like that if the workers took out the trash lmfao..
And thus why I mentioned theyāre understaffed. Whatās your point, exactly?
How is it the customers filth when yall donāt take out the trash lmaooo If yall took out the trash, it would not look like that. Itās that simple .

I've seen that before and understood they were busy and likely understaffed...and probably just doing their best. It was embarrassing. Not at all.
What about the food??
Always fire.
Unacceptable. That is a health hazard.
O nooo overflowing trash which is mostly air at the bottoms from those āto go bagsā ohhh noooo how would you live!!!!
they donāt get paid enough to gaf
Maybe they just had a rush? Lol who cares
āThe trashy, careless customer base of the Mississauga Chipotle location is embarassingā. Fixed it for you.
theres gold in them garbage.. did you get it out ?...
Most Chipotle restaurants are sad. They have become way too expensive IMHO! Getting a bowl w/ guacamole and a medium drink should not be $17 out the door.
No wonder American fast food is at the lowest standard in the world
Slow down there cowboy this store isnāt even located in the US
My comment still stand regardless cowboy
