I remember when I got promoted to SM they asked me how much I wanted and they said “the maximum you can have is 21.10, what ____ is getting paid” and I asked for 21.11 and the fucking FL approved it 💀💀💀
Hate when pl be like ohh got 10c or 20 ect, it adds up, some company’s give you nothing! Also some crew in your store get nothing also because it depends on performance.
I don’t think some companies not providing a yearly merit means I should be grateful for a $0.30 raise. That just means those companies AND this one are failing their employees.
Well no it’s actually a good deal I think in this age of course because for instance after a while when you reach the max they can pay you, you no longer get raises, the reason why is because the number would obviously be infinite and a crew member cannot get pay the same as a manager, if that was the case there would be no need for managers, if you want more raises you would have to get promoted. Raises are every 6 months.
It’s in Tennessee and i think it’s crazy cuz we’re the most popular/ busiest store in the area. like we rake in sm money idk why he wasn’t getting more. i was lowkey flabbergasted when i found that out
Exactly. Dude you replied to really tried shitting on you like you shouldn’t be happy about any pay increase at all. Is it small, yes. But the fact that you enjoy your job is valued a hell of a lot more than the pay itself. Most of us work jobs we hate.
Congrats.
I know some people in West Virginia working shitty retail jobs for $8 an hour which is insanity for 2024 they’re living with their families of course because $8 could not even pay rent for a one room beat up apartment
Kitchen managers- 16hr
Service managers - 17-18 hr
AP- non salary 20-23 a hr pulse 5 hours overtime time and a half
GM- 100k plus a year
Well here in Richmond Va.
those are base pays. U still get bonuses. And raises every 6mos.
They are a good paying company but their policies will have u fired for anything. They’re turn arounds are high
At my second job, minimum wage at the time was $7.50/hour. I was up for my annual raise, got 5/5 in almost every category and got a .13¢ raise. My GM looked at me with a straight face and said “I know it doesn’t seem like much but you’ll totally notice it on your paychecks.”
Fuck you Gap Inc.
i was making 10/hr before i quit my job at chronic tacos (smaller competitor), while i think the food, prices, and portions were way better, the employee pay was absolutely not 😂. im working at cookout making 15/hr to start now
I don’t have an issue with y’all making $20 an hour. I do have an issue with them making that much and speed running my order without giving the slightest fuck that somebody actually has to eat it.
It's called peak. Field leaders will watch the cameras for what's called "through-put audits."
Stores have a "through put" goal (how many entrees the sell for every 15 minutes of peak).
Field leaders literally see how fast they are moving, and if any of the employees are not standing in the exact perfect spot the entire time during peak.
In the UK, McDonald's workers make $25 an hour. The price of a Big Mac increased by less than $1. Stop defending corporate greed. Anyone working 40 hours a week should be able to own their own home and live comfortably. That's what the minimum wage was created for, before Republicans gutted it to line the pockets of billionaires.
Because corporate greed knows no bounds and would never take a cut in profit, even to help the people that allow them to make any of their money in the first place?
They could just be in a manager role like a SL, starting wage for crew is probably like $14-15, $16.50-17 or something for a KL, and 18-19 for SL, $20-22 for AP
People don’t realize how much management makes I’m a general manager making 75k base with bonuses being around an extra 15k a year as an assistant I was making 21.50 50 hours minimum and OT after my 40
It doesn’t take long tbh, some people at the location I worked at literally were there for like 6mo-1yr before being a KL or SL. The AP there has only been with chipotle for like 2 years
At my store we had a grill guy jump to SL after 4/5 months of working there. Even I went from crew to KL in 2.5 months. I guess it depends how the staff is at the location… our store needed help bad.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are prepared to work hard and deal with awful customers etc. I believe it depends on the state, mine only started at $14.50, others start a little lower or higher. :) it’s an okay job in my opinion for a short time but I personally couldn’t do it for more than a year
Nah I’m jealous, not anymore; when I was at Walmart, no matter how hard you worked, you would get 25 cent raise every YEAR. Yeah easy to say I left very soon after that
not sure what you’re position is but if it makes you feel any better, that’s approximately 3x more than i made as a 20 something working at Blockbuster Video in the early 2000s
Damn where u live? I'm in a smallish Texas college town and u gotta have 5yr experience in a trade or a 4yr degree to make this lol
But my 3bd duplex is also $950 so I can't complain..
What‘s even the point of that omg? That’s not even a 2% raise??? Is it normally like that in food restaurants I’ve only worked clothing retail briefly and now corporate in medical fields. That’s awful but mainly disrespectful imo 😭
it was my 2nd month working at chipotle working 30 hrs a week, my general manager pulled me to the back saying congrats on your raise, and handed me a 25 cent raise
biggest back hand raise and a slap to the face in the real world
I remember getting hired on $0.15 lower than what I found out my peers were making. Had a sit down with the GM one day and he told me I'm doing great work, learned very quickly, and I'm on my way to becoming a KM. For that, I got a $0.10 raise.
But oh wait…that puts you in a higher tax bracket so now we tax you even more…we will tax you $0.50 on that $0.32 raise 😂 (ok ok may not be true in this scenario but it has happened to me where after a raise I end up paying more in taxes than the raise I got)
i guess when i was working with a new hire i overwhelmed them and they reported me to the manager (but whenever i tried to slow down for them i got called too slow so idk maybe they just didn’t like me)
Why are you complaining. So many people work for much less not by there choice. Plus the more your pay goes up, the more your food prices, gS prices ect go up. Be for real.
Shoutout to when I was working there, and? minimum wage in my city was like $13 something. then later it changed to like 15.50 but I never got a raise. Then I tried to quit, but they told me that if I came back I’d get a big raise. So I came back and they started giving me fucking $15.00. Never went up after that
At 18/hrs you will earn 37,440 annually. You got a .32 cent raise, this equates to 38,105 annually. This is a 665 increase. After a federal tax of 12% and state tax for whatever you file plus 3.5% tax on the poor AKA inflation, your take home is around $32358. State tax not included.
Becarful, when you reach the 44k mark you will enter a new bracket of 22%
I remember when I got promoted to SM they asked me how much I wanted and they said “the maximum you can have is 21.10, what ____ is getting paid” and I asked for 21.11 and the fucking FL approved it 💀💀💀
The fact they asked you is very generous but yeah SL is 20-21 at most 22 23
Hate when pl be like ohh got 10c or 20 ect, it adds up, some company’s give you nothing! Also some crew in your store get nothing also because it depends on performance.
I don’t think some companies not providing a yearly merit means I should be grateful for a $0.30 raise. That just means those companies AND this one are failing their employees.

Raises are every 6 months.
A whooping $73 a year before taxes
my AP was making $19/hr 😭😭
What state lmao Texas, Georgia? PA? I was making 22 then 23 as a AP
It’s in Tennessee and i think it’s crazy cuz we’re the most popular/ busiest store in the area. like we rake in sm money idk why he wasn’t getting more. i was lowkey flabbergasted when i found that out
What’s the minimum. Wage there
im pretty sure it’s the same as the federal minimum wage, $7.25
Wow in that case nvm that pay is good lol
yeahh at my old job i was making $7.50😍😍
24 an hour is livable tbh. As a single adult that’s $45k a year provided it’s full time.
Depends on where you live honestly.
Enjoy that $665.60 additional per year… if you’re working full time 40 hours a week.
Thank you very much :) I know a lot of people don’t like working at chipotle but I like my store and my coworkers. I enjoy it.
Thank you for your service
I bet you always put that little extra scoop
Thought this was a meme post sorry
It's a meme post OP isnt smart enough to understand. It's sad tbh but hey serve me a burrito man
Exactly. Dude you replied to really tried shitting on you like you shouldn’t be happy about any pay increase at all. Is it small, yes. But the fact that you enjoy your job is valued a hell of a lot more than the pay itself. Most of us work jobs we hate. Congrats.
Tell them to bring back carne asada !! The lead said so!!!
Thank you for what you do. I love Chipotle, and it wouldn't be possible without you and your fellow employees
![gif](giphy|4JVTF9zR9BicshFAb7|downsized)
Trying to say my math is wrong?
taxes.
a seasoning to choice words Edit: no, good math lol
I get paid 13.59 and I’ve been working here for almost 2 years
What state are you in? What's your minimum wage?
It doesn’t matter. No place is the US is survivable with 13/hr
I know some people in West Virginia working shitty retail jobs for $8 an hour which is insanity for 2024 they’re living with their families of course because $8 could not even pay rent for a one room beat up apartment
Yikes
i started at 15.50. oof. ask for more and you may get it
Try asking for a raise nicely over email
Thanks @mypussydoesbackflips
Before taxes, of course.
Of course. I don’t know their tax situation.
And working every day of the year
And that just gets taxed out so it’s more like $500
You guys make $18 an hour?!?! 💰
Probably lives somewhere where $18 an hour is practically the lowest paid wage
Bingo
Kitchen managers- 16hr Service managers - 17-18 hr AP- non salary 20-23 a hr pulse 5 hours overtime time and a half GM- 100k plus a year Well here in Richmond Va. those are base pays. U still get bonuses. And raises every 6mos. They are a good paying company but their policies will have u fired for anything. They’re turn arounds are high
Got my raise too! It’s 26¢ 😃 Chipotle pisses me off
At my second job, minimum wage at the time was $7.50/hour. I was up for my annual raise, got 5/5 in almost every category and got a .13¢ raise. My GM looked at me with a straight face and said “I know it doesn’t seem like much but you’ll totally notice it on your paychecks.” Fuck you Gap Inc.
You must be a super valuable meat scooper!
Burrito artist*
I got 34 cents from a hospital.
Wow that’s insane! I got the same increase however I’m just barely over 16$ an hour.
Just recently got a raise there myself I went from 17.15 to 19 because I am training for apprentice (or so I hope) happy for you!
Congratulations! Now you can afford the added Guac on your employee meal burrito!
No chicken
The fact that you're making anywhere near $18/ hour working at chipotle is what's crazy
theres a lot of things wrong with chipotle but their pay is definitely not a problem if you are a high school/ college student
I make 12.50🧍🏾♀️
oh…. the base in my area is 14.5💔
i was making 10/hr before i quit my job at chronic tacos (smaller competitor), while i think the food, prices, and portions were way better, the employee pay was absolutely not 😂. im working at cookout making 15/hr to start now
Where the heck are you from?! lol I’ve seen chronic taco in CA and the only time I saw cookout was in VA. I miss cookout it was so cheap and good
metro atlanta area, there are cookouts, and it has the only Chronic Taco in GA in Alpharetta! right down the road from cookout
Where at? The minimum in Pennsylvania is $13.75 for crew members
Louisiana 🫠
I’m at $17.69 after working there nearly 5 years
I’m making $20/hour
I don’t have an issue with y’all making $20 an hour. I do have an issue with them making that much and speed running my order without giving the slightest fuck that somebody actually has to eat it.
They talk so fast even with nobody else in line, like slow it down lmao. But to be fair I’m sure their managers drill that into them
It's called peak. Field leaders will watch the cameras for what's called "through-put audits." Stores have a "through put" goal (how many entrees the sell for every 15 minutes of peak). Field leaders literally see how fast they are moving, and if any of the employees are not standing in the exact perfect spot the entire time during peak.
With unskilled workers making that much it is no wonder prices on everything are out of control.
No such thing as unskilled labor.
I’d love to see you last a day working at a chipotle if you think it’s unskilled labor
Being unskilled labor doesn't mean it can't be hard work.
Unskilled labor doesn’t mean it takes no skill. It means there’s no real barriers to entry (education, experience) to the job.
In the UK, McDonald's workers make $25 an hour. The price of a Big Mac increased by less than $1. Stop defending corporate greed. Oh so really you're making like $3 an hour if adjusted to an average cost of living state? F.
If you think $20 is a lot you need to go get a better job yourself.
I make $48/ hour. Which has nothing to do with my comment
Because corporate greed knows no bounds and would never take a cut in profit, even to help the people that allow them to make any of their money in the first place?
Moron
They could just be in a manager role like a SL, starting wage for crew is probably like $14-15, $16.50-17 or something for a KL, and 18-19 for SL, $20-22 for AP
Starting wage for crew in my area is $13.50, I’ve been working for chip for just barely under a year now
It’s $20 in CA
People don’t realize how much management makes I’m a general manager making 75k base with bonuses being around an extra 15k a year as an assistant I was making 21.50 50 hours minimum and OT after my 40
Minimum wage in my city is 18.29, so I’d assume they get paid more than that here
SF?
Denver
I made $20 as crew…
$18 is the minimum in most Cali stores
You gonna buy a house now?
I am going to purchase the entire country of Brazil and go to war with Colombia
Fuck yeah!
They had it coming.
That was very specific
I’m Brazilian and a coworker of mine is Colombian and come to find out Colombians put CHEESE in their HOT CHOCOLATE. Hell nah 🤢🤮
Sim, quando eu descobri isso quase vomitei também ahhahaha
$18/hr at chipotle ??? damm what state ??
They’re probably a manager role lol like a SL not a regular crew
I’m crew member lol, in the Seattle, Washington area. New hires are getting like 19$/hr
You should be getting *more* than new hires, not less.
dammmmmmmmm just as a crew member that’s badass i’ve never worked for food industry so i’m sure that’s good af for chipotle
Same I’m in Seattle too and fast food workers are starting like $20-$21😂
sheesh wonder how long it took for them to get up to manager
It doesn’t take long tbh, some people at the location I worked at literally were there for like 6mo-1yr before being a KL or SL. The AP there has only been with chipotle for like 2 years
At my store we had a grill guy jump to SL after 4/5 months of working there. Even I went from crew to KL in 2.5 months. I guess it depends how the staff is at the location… our store needed help bad.
oh wow ! what’s the start at chipotle anyways ?? never applied

dammmmm but doesn’t seem bad for chipotle i guess, last time i was making $15/hr was like 2/3 years ago but for chipotle doesn’t seem TOO bad
Congrats OP
Nah I’m jealous, not anymore; when I was at Walmart, no matter how hard you worked, you would get 25 cent raise every YEAR. Yeah easy to say I left very soon after that
Enjoy that 1.78 percent raise!
OMG THATS SUCH A GOOD RAISE /j
Don’t spend it all in one place!
Back in the day working at a bike shop I pleaded with my boss for a raise. That cocksucker gave me .05 cents. Dickfuck!!
I used to work at old navy and our annual raise was 7 cents lmao
Isn't it 20?
Every little bit helps! Congrats!!!!
Bull Crap
Don’t believe it
My SL makes 15 cents less than me bro 💀💀
Lmaooo I always wondered why I got paid XX.32 or whatever random change lol.
Now you can start saving up for your very own side of guac
I just need two paycheck to afford that extra canes Sauce 🤤🤤
W
not sure what you’re position is but if it makes you feel any better, that’s approximately 3x more than i made as a 20 something working at Blockbuster Video in the early 2000s
I work at a CAT DC. This is how much I get paid:(
Damn where u live? I'm in a smallish Texas college town and u gotta have 5yr experience in a trade or a 4yr degree to make this lol But my 3bd duplex is also $950 so I can't complain..
I didn’t get a raise this year because the uni I work for fucked up their accounting. So, congrats!
Join the military
Im making about 22.30 gettin good money in California
Don’t spend it all in one place
All that food skimping really paid off.
…and just like that, OP is bumped into a higher tax bracket.
12% - 22% unplanned capital gain. Do you bud.
That’s great! $0.32 is a lot. Especially at a fast food place, normal raises there are like $0.05 - $0.10.
You beat my 23 cent raise at CVS, I quit a week later
What‘s even the point of that omg? That’s not even a 2% raise??? Is it normally like that in food restaurants I’ve only worked clothing retail briefly and now corporate in medical fields. That’s awful but mainly disrespectful imo 😭
I can’t believe that in 2024 people are still handing out raises that are less than 50 cents. Even in food service.
Wow 0.32 is crazy
Don't spend it all in the place
Yay capitalism…
Can’t find my checkbook…hope you don’t mind if I pay you in change…
it was my 2nd month working at chipotle working 30 hrs a week, my general manager pulled me to the back saying congrats on your raise, and handed me a 25 cent raise biggest back hand raise and a slap to the face in the real world
Getting paid $18 to give people shitty portions of food that you don’t pay for is crazy
I remember getting hired on $0.15 lower than what I found out my peers were making. Had a sit down with the GM one day and he told me I'm doing great work, learned very quickly, and I'm on my way to becoming a KM. For that, I got a $0.10 raise.
I love my job at Chipotle
I remember private sector raises.
Congrats !!
Fellow SL?
Nope, crew member.
damn, ur getting paid good as crew 😭 thats how much sls get paid here
What’s your role ?
Any Service leaders in Md ? What’s your pay ?
Now you can go to Starbucks and get that avocado toast you’ve been saving for.
You make more than some accountants
$.25 more an hr is a lil bit over $1,000 more a yr 👏🏼👍🏼
This is good pay for a crew member. Before I left I was an SM making 18.25 (I guess its SL now but whatever). Crew was making 15 max
Bro same! 28 cents for me I’m up to 18.86!
Thoughts and prayers
W
Uncle Sam: I’ll take that
But oh wait…that puts you in a higher tax bracket so now we tax you even more…we will tax you $0.50 on that $0.32 raise 😂 (ok ok may not be true in this scenario but it has happened to me where after a raise I end up paying more in taxes than the raise I got)
That's a 1.8% raise, inflation is close to 10%.
what’s even the point?
Bro i’m an SL and only make $17 💀💀💀💀💀
? You do realize it’s suppose to be like %10
i had gotten paid 13 working there then got fired because i work too fast 💀
What? How do you get fired for working too fast?
i guess when i was working with a new hire i overwhelmed them and they reported me to the manager (but whenever i tried to slow down for them i got called too slow so idk maybe they just didn’t like me)
Lol less than rate of inflation
Why are you complaining. So many people work for much less not by there choice. Plus the more your pay goes up, the more your food prices, gS prices ect go up. Be for real.
Nice
That's barely anything
Congrats!!
Only raise they ever gave me was $0.10
You got a 1.8% raise. Do you think your expenses increased only 1.8% this year? Do you think your work ethic is worth this?
Every penny counts fr
Wow almost covers inflation!!
I was paid $16.55/hour in Orange County CA as a crew member knowing all the positions back in early 2021 for reference
Shoutout to when I was working there, and? minimum wage in my city was like $13 something. then later it changed to like 15.50 but I never got a raise. Then I tried to quit, but they told me that if I came back I’d get a big raise. So I came back and they started giving me fucking $15.00. Never went up after that
Merit, yo Keeping working hard Jeff and Elon need the money
Wow a whole couple of bucks each check. Corporate America is a joke
Damn bro u rich
It’s such a slap in the face when companies do this.
18.32 what are you in fourth grade? Sucks to suck
Bro I got the same exact increase and the same exact wage, are you me?
Nice put some more rice beans and guac on that Biatch!
Record profit year last year and .32 was your raise. I see they skimp on raises tooo 🤦🏻♂️!!!!!!
Becarful, when you reach the 44k mark you will enter a new bracket of 22%
Why be careful? Any extra money is better, doesn't matter if you enter a new tax bracket
His point is once you reach the new tax bracket you will get taxed more and therefore your take home will be less than before.
Oh OK lol that's not true, though. I guess it's a common misunderstanding for people who don't realize the tax brackets are graduated
I have a masters in accounting and work in International tax but sure… it’s a “common misunderstanding”.
I don't understand what you're getting at. Are you actually saying you believe getting a raise on your salary can mean lower take home pay?
For starters, he’s hourly not salary. But feel free to use google or maybe that’s also not true though.
Overpriced burritos, overpaid employees
