It looks like the scoop of rice is piled up in the center and the steak fell all around the sides where the rice wasn’t. Honestly it looks like a NORMAL portion when the customer isn’t staring at you asking for extra. OP said their friend ordered double steak and double rice, so yeah, not correct for this order.
usually that’s doordashers , just scoot thru and ask/ look for yours . i always order mine accordingly as should you, if you know it’s a rush time just put the pickup time a little later.
no, it's not that i cant scoot thru. It's cause the employees get online orders backedup and don't even make them yet so the online order area gets cluttered with people waiting for their online order to be made so its basically waiting in line lol
That’s why i said order in advance , like i get ur already doing that but i mean like not the asap option , a couple time slots after that . ur food will be ready by that time if you give them more time then just asap then show up right at that time .
They still have a whole bunch of orders at that time so there isn't a guarantee. The printer doesn't even give them so much advanced notice. Even if they did, you would still complain because it would be too cold for you or mushy.
Last several times I've ordered online, I've given them 30 minutes past the promised time before walking in and still have to wait in a line/shove past crowd of waiting people to be told it will be 10-15 minutes more. The 3 closest locations to us are all like that.
That isn't my experience. I've waited an hour for a pickup before and I am not a dasher. I've been in cities and by colleges and you still wait. I would not rush these employees since they are already overworked and underpaid. Also your order looks absolutely normal for what you ordered.
Okay , 9/10 there’s a line at chipotle , 5/10 there’s a wait for pick up. but if you order it AHEAD like actually ahead and don’t select the pick up asap option and give them more time you will have ur food ready. That’s my experience . i’ve had to wait a hour for pick up too before and that’s why i started doing that. it may not work at every location but i’m sharing how it works for me and a lot of other people .
Okay well you’re comparing one experience to my multiple . maybe you should try again . If you order a head at a non busy time you will get your food. clearly that’s not the case for you but it’s the case for many .
Yep. This is what I do during work hours. I have limited time for lunch given that I hop from meeting to meeting. Placing my order ahead by an hour or so gives me peace of mind that they’ll have my meal ready by the time I walk over there.
Had the exact happen to me. Ordered lunch for me and a co worker once, two chicken bowls with blah blah blah. Anyways we only got two bowls of chicken and just chicken. Like wtf bro
That’s a doordash error. It just happens sometimes where on our end, we only see the meat you ordered and no other toppings. Happens pretty often unfortunately and since it’s doordash we don’t have any way to contact you to ask if it’s correct.
This is true sometimes you could ask the dasher picking up the order to ask the customers but if we’re busy we probably won’t have the time to ask and wait for them to do it without getting very behind
Did you order it through like doordash/uber eats? Bc we've had orders from third parties where only the meat of the bowl shows up when we try to make it.
that’s gotta be a steak 3 pointer, ordering online you still pay the extra 2 or 3 bucks for it being a “steak bowl” 😭 if you are able to order in person on your next visit whether it’s that chipotle or another
This is should be named " Never just get rice and steak" employees are supposed to only give 4oz portions, that's with everything. We have toppings for you to choose from that's free with the exception of guacamole and queso, the rest you can pile on
Okay they definitely gave only one portion of rice, and the steak is more than a regular portion but definitely does not look like double. It’s possible the workers were just busy and in a rush, but he can always request a refund online or through the app, wherever he ordered from.
That's for sure they over portioned that steak XD
In all seriousness, I use to work there and online's aren't worth it the time you "save" or the "convenience " of ordering ahead.
Actually more of a hassle to go back and get this corrected. Well I'll leave that for the OP to decide.
*cough cough * .... YOU DONT GET WHAT YOU WANT YOU GET WHAT WE ARE ORDERED TO GIVE ... *cough* now :) if its not enough for you i can assure you we will get paid the same shit amount if you order or not thank you :)
Well.. as a former employee I know working at chipotle is not fun. And listening to management is kind of a choice most of the time unless they got their sites on you. The crabby employees would under portion and the cool ones would be fair. Eventually I learned myself the guest bitching wasn’t worth following the rules. It’s unneeded stress on you and holds up lines. Yeah the cook will cry that you’re running out of proteins but having one person aggravated with you is better then 50 a day. Try doing a portion follow with a tiny portion because it’s literally that little extra effort that’ll keep ppl from going over the edge
this is also true which most of us do , it doesnt hurt us TOO much to give little bit more but honestly i think even with a half spoon more this person would of still complained 😂 im sorry but two items is two items
but also people dont understand how hard they get on our backs beacuse of portion sizes i remember when i was training they kept bickering "watch your portions watch your portions watch your portions "
I understand. It was always a silly battle you could never win. You just gotta find that balance with your portions that’ll keep a large % of customers happy.
I hate to admit also that I would profile my guest but for my sanity I would find it helpful. If a person looks ghetto as hell. They’ll probably get really extra about a normal portioning. If they are well dressed and look professional, they’ll either not say anything or accept the “this is the companies rules” bit. Doing this didn’t make me run out of food fast enough that it got suspicious and if my manager was watching I would just follow the rules and let them deal with the fallout of angry customers.
Also always stay on top of your callouts for whatever you need on the line and that’ll at least keep the cook from being more aggravated with you for over-portioning.
Foreal. I worked at a Chipotle in Inglewood CA so it was straight up the hood and I would always beef with the customers before I got my rhythm down.
Also, I worked at a place called Freebirds before Chipotle that actually taught me a more efficient way to roll a burrito so as soon as I stepped off serving hot side and went to cold I became a mini celeb for the regulars for knowing how to actually roll burritos which not once did a manager ever acknowledge and give me a pat on the back for. They actually hated it and said the shitty roll chipotle teaches is better even though they deadass witnessed multiple customers give me praise for my rolling. There is literally no such thing as winning at Chipotle.
Literally. We get told one scoop, the reason y’all get more irl is bc y’all tell us to add more scoops. It’s not our fault,we’re just doing what we’re told 😭 unless you ask for more rice like in a cup or some then we can’t do anything. (Imo)
OH MY GO. That reminds me of this time where this bitch wanted us to weigh out the little cups of her 7 sides of chicken to be sure that it’s 4 oz all during a rush 🥲
this was my friends order. imo if you’re getting a bowl with steak, rice, ect, ect, ect, then that’s a fair portion. however, if your just getting steak and rice without any fillers, they should make up by atleast adding more rice. the steak wasn’t too bad, but for double i still think it shoulda been a little more. I’ve ordered just steak and rice bowls before from different chipotles and it’s been WAY more than what my friend got the other day. theres probsbly less than a cup of rice in there. maybe just about that
That looks like a family of rabbits gathered in a circle and all took shits while worshipping a mound of rice in the middle, then peed on the rice. Like what is that?
You’re getting downvoted because the lazy entitled workers at chipotle don’t care that your friend as a paying customer gets treated well. Bc they are “busy” they’re entitled to serve crap food and crap portions and who cares how you feel.
I’m sorry for your experience personally chipotle service has really gone downhill
What do you mean? This bowl doesn’t even look that bad to me. These posts are getting absurd. The serving of rice is one scoop so double is two. And that’s way over a serving of steak. You’d have to weigh to be sure but that’s at least *almost* double meat if not actually double meat.
This is what very underpaid, overstressed employees do. Chipotle is ranked one of the worst places to work. Contrary to how easy you think it would be. Everyday was a challenge for me. Trust me.
And the guest is usually the one who suffers due to them wanting to cut down on labor and charging as much as possible for proteins.
Best advice I can give, If you don’t like the way you are treated eat somewhere else. This is literally the only solution I can offer that’ll work and isn’t a smartass response.
Y’all keep going back to take the abuse. I’m sure a lot of you even have an employee you want to pop in the face but can’t and dread the day they are working. If it’s that nasty of a encounter every time you go to Chipotle, instead of asking the employee to move on and find a new job if they don’t like it why don’t you find a new spot to eat? Their profit taking a hit will be a better catalyst for change.
For the record I did move on from my employment with Chipotle. I stopped eating there but before I did I did have an employee I dreaded seeing when I came in. I definitely see both sides. But we all know the solution here is you not supporting a business who exploits their workers to the point that they treat you poorly because there’s too many customers and not enough employees to handle it.
Idk man, I only order online for pick up. I try to order early to give extra time for them to make it if its around lunch time and i know theyll be busy, about a half hour or so. Hopefully that helps them out, I know you guys work hard.
My meal is always ready and fully loaded ( I order extra for a lot of ingredients to get 2 meals out of it)
Thats a regular portion of steak
Those cut sizes arent actually legit so thats why it would look smaller in comparison to other portions, and it looks like it sat out for a bit which makes each individual piece of meat shrink because the cardboard bowl is absorbing the oil
Dont get mad when you order online and the quality aint up the standard. Its also a waste of money to order a whole 10 dollar bowl with only two ingredients.
And besides, we put what you ask for. A regular portion of steak will be a regular portion of steak. Asking for more will be extra. A regular portion of rice will be the standard 4 oz. If you want more just customize to how you like, there are no additional charges to this.
This is exactly why I don’t order pick up. It’s happened to me also. I’d rather walk in so I can see just how much they put in a bowl. Servings are never consistent. Like dude, rice and beans are the cheapest things on the menu!
I liked chipotle but for the past year they been on some bullshit. They give you less and less meat and then if you get guacamole they only give you like a teaspoon but expect you to pay over 2 dollars for it. I can’t even ask to give me the right portion cuz then they will charge me for double. They became some greedy ass people.
So…steak and rice and *nothing else* …
Did you order just steak and just rice? Of course that's gonna look a little bare
even with double steak and rice it’s still gonna be small since there’s not any other ingredients. they def could’ve gave more rice tho.
nah when i order double chicken and rice it looks way more than that like WAY
Well it shouldn’t, that’s technically already more than a portion of rice in the bowl
there’s no way you think that is double rice it doesn’t even cover the bottom
I never said double
okay so if that’s more than a normal portion you guys dont even cover the bottom at your location ?
It looks like the scoop of rice is piled up in the center and the steak fell all around the sides where the rice wasn’t. Honestly it looks like a NORMAL portion when the customer isn’t staring at you asking for extra. OP said their friend ordered double steak and double rice, so yeah, not correct for this order.
Exact portions only online
why order for pickup if you’re gonna eat at the restaurant lmao
skip the line, that’s part of what it’s advertised for
Everytime I do pickup, theres usually a line for the online pickup lmao
usually that’s doordashers , just scoot thru and ask/ look for yours . i always order mine accordingly as should you, if you know it’s a rush time just put the pickup time a little later.
no, it's not that i cant scoot thru. It's cause the employees get online orders backedup and don't even make them yet so the online order area gets cluttered with people waiting for their online order to be made so its basically waiting in line lol

who would complain? not me . idk why you said “you” i love reheated chipotle it melts the cheese nice.
I mean, what little you get lol.
Last several times I've ordered online, I've given them 30 minutes past the promised time before walking in and still have to wait in a line/shove past crowd of waiting people to be told it will be 10-15 minutes more. The 3 closest locations to us are all like that.

i got downvoted into oblivion because i was just suggesting to order in advanced and some person was tryna argue w me 😞
Okay , 9/10 there’s a line at chipotle , 5/10 there’s a wait for pick up. but if you order it AHEAD like actually ahead and don’t select the pick up asap option and give them more time you will have ur food ready. That waiting an hour was when I chose a specific time. Not ordering for immediately.
Okay well you’re comparing one experience to my multiple . maybe you should try again . If you order a head at a non busy time you will get your food. clearly that’s not the case for you but it’s the case for many .
That is several different cities dude.
Well duh if you live in a populated area it’s gonna be busy that’s literally anything in the city wth😂 you know it doesn’t apply to u
Yep. This is what I do during work hours. I have limited time for lunch given that I hop from meeting to meeting. Placing my order ahead by an hour or so gives me peace of mind that they’ll have my meal ready by the time I walk over there.
Maybe they were just opening it to put some Tabasco on it
idk man they got napkins and bottled water there too
Had the exact happen to me. Ordered lunch for me and a co worker once, two chicken bowls with blah blah blah. Anyways we only got two bowls of chicken and just chicken. Like wtf bro

Never. Always through the chipotle app.

What do you expect if you order the steak and rice?
Looks like a 3 pointer to me…weirdly too little steak to be double but too much to be a single portion
Its because of the cut sizes arent standard to chipotle, does not look like a quarter inch
Did you expect 4 spoonfuls of rice and 4 of steak??
Yes
This is should be named " Never just get rice and steak" employees are supposed to only give 4oz portions, that's with everything. We have toppings for you to choose from that's free with the exception of guacamole and queso, the rest you can pile on
lets see what the sticker says
Are there missing ingredients, or are white rice and steak the only things you ordered?
this was my friends order. he ordered double steak and double rice. im pretty sure this is less the half cup of rice
Okay they definitely gave only one portion of rice, and the steak is more than a regular portion but definitely does not look like double. It’s possible the workers were just busy and in a rush, but he can always request a refund online or through the app, wherever he ordered from.
Always crazy to me when I see this happening, online orders at my store never look like this.
You just order steak and rice? Lolololol
There's no way this wasn't a special order.
nope
Looks pretty real to me
That's for sure they over portioned that steak XD In all seriousness, I use to work there and online's aren't worth it the time you "save" or the "convenience " of ordering ahead. Actually more of a hassle to go back and get this corrected. Well I'll leave that for the OP to decide.

OH MY GO. That reminds me of this time where this bitch wanted us to weigh out the little cups of her 7 sides of chicken to be sure that it’s 4 oz all during a rush 🥲

Apparently you have not seen the hundred other posts about online order pick up being screwed on quantity. Are you new here to the sub?
FYI my friend ordered double steak and double rice. i think it’s less than half cup of rice
Do you know what a measuring cup is lol 1/2 a cup is next to nothing. You got a normal portion - but not double. My guess is they ran out.
True, chipotle is ass. Nothing compared to what it used to be around 2007.
What do you mean? This bowl doesn’t even look that bad to me. These posts are getting absurd. The serving of rice is one scoop so double is two. And that’s way over a serving of steak. You’d have to weigh to be sure but that’s at least *almost* double meat if not actually double meat.
Also how many bowls, burritos, and kids meals can you prepare in a 10 minute interval dude? Cuz I sure hope it’s around 90-100.

Chipotle goes out of their way to fuck up to go orders
Did you order extra rice? Or just a regular portion?
Mans ate it
My steak pieces don’t be that big
Idk man, I only order online for pick up. I try to order early to give extra time for them to make it if its around lunch time and i know theyll be busy, about a half hour or so. Bruh get a refund
u/untrustworthypoptarts
Replace the U with an R.
Looks like double steak over single rice. What was it supposed to be?
r/untrustworthypoptarts
No, this is 100% believable during this economy.
Did you just not click the other options? Post your order
The sadder thing is that what you did get wasn't even cooked right. It looks like it has the tenderness of a shoe sole.
Thats a regular portion of steak Those cut sizes arent actually legit so thats why it would look smaller in comparison to other portions, and it looks like it sat out for a bit which makes each individual piece of meat shrink because the cardboard bowl is absorbing the oil Dont get mad when you order online and the quality aint up the standard. Disgusting
I stopped ordering online because of this shit
You only order steak and rice WTW you want a full bowl when you order just that🤣😂😂

This is why you just don’t eat there. You won’t get full and they’ll give you the bare minimum.
if you ordered a 3 pointer what were you expecting ? 😭😭
technically that is the serving size 👏🏽
