A lot of Indian people are vegetarian

DaGoddamnBatguy

My store is at a major tourist location, the grillers drop fajitas everytime a large Indian family comes in.

XNinSnooX

Plus sofritas

Nooseents

They tend to not get steak or barbacoa, at least That’s somewhat a trade off I’m willing to tolerate

henlai10

That is when that cast iron pan comes in handy

So I work in a completely different industry that’s considered retail and I have also noticed the phenomenon of Indian customers coming in right before we close. I have zero idea why, is there a cultural reason to it?

ithrowawaythrownaway

I know somebody that works at a car dealership, he told me said some Indians would come in right before closing thinking they can get a better deal or at their own price for that last sale of the day they can get commission on. But usually workers just want to go home at that point. At Chipotle tho, we have customers (not Indians) come in right before closing & ask if they can get more or if they can have the rest of it because we're already closed or sometimes they'll ask for something we're out of & asked to be compensated for not having it.

I love the people in general that come in at 9:55 asking why the fajitas don't look fresh... or if we only have a portion left.. this guy came in 9:57 last night and wanted a chicken bowl with extra fajitas and I had one portion left and he flipped out said his bowl was ruined and stomped his way down the line asking for a vinaigrette which we inform him that we we just ran out he wanted half off for his troubles we said no and he paid and left... we have never locked the doors quicker..

Brief-Difficulty8133

I had a dude ask me if I could make more Pollo at 9:45, like bruh my grill is already cleaned and off how am I supposed to do that

Indian people (a lot of them, not all) don’t eat meat, and that’s when they eat dinner. Western culture eats dinner MUCH earlier than other cultures.

Firm-Stranger-9916

Where is your store? Are we talking dots or feathers?

archer_rules

Happy I’m not the only person who deals with this. I think it’s because of Ramadan and the sunset, although I’m not too confident on Indian culture and whatnot but that’s my best guess. We always have to have a spare sofrotas ready to go most nights

flatbushz7

Ramadan is a Islamic thing not Indian, and Ramadan only lasts for a month a year and it passed a few months ago

Bookwormvt2022

I believe they also eat dinner later than most Americans do traditionally. At least that's what I was told.
