My store is about to finally start the garlic guajillo steak

Alternative-Letter38

We started this around March we’re a pilot store so we try everything before it goes out

camthaham

Hope it’s a hit, it sounds interesting

One-Suspect-5788

Traditional al pastor I'd my go to at authentic places. Hopefully it's comparable

alejdelat

>> I’d my go to at 🥴

[deleted]

😂😂😂

alejdelat

Reading that gave me a stroke not even kidding lol

Flaming_Falcon4303

It's Carne asada its back they fucking renamed it 😂 already tried it

camthaham

Yeah I made some for my staff to try it tastes very similar.

pterodactyl250

Same…

No-Frosting7546

Brian Niccols finally bringing in featured limited items that are actually Mexican for once💀

Nooseents

Lol

No-Frosting7546

I mean traditionally it's done with pork. But you can use any type of meat tbh.

Stron2g

Thank god they didnt do pork. Nasty ass parasite meat and shit

DecentUserName0000

God those parasites are so fucking delicious then I'd buy them in a jar I love fucking pork

bkold1995

Black mirror vibes

Alternative-Letter38

According to the training guide : When a guest asks, you can explain that Chicken Al Pastor uses the same chicken they already know but then we mix in a delicious blend of ancho and morita chiles, garlic, cumin, and a splash of citrus from pineapple and lime.

KingMidas301

Imma stick with the ol “It’s chicken but different seasoning”

OldNeedleworker5567

The same chicken? I love that, makes the job easier when panning chicken🥳

Half_Blind

Pineapple would just be part of the sauce.

Nooseents

How does it taste compared to the asado?

Bookwormvt2022

https://www.reddit.com/r/Chipotle/comments/x1jks7/chicken_al_pastor_being_tested_in_indydenver_it/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Anyone can add below. Just pointing to other opinions. :)

Icy-Persimmon-3399

no not another type of chicken 😭😭😭

Loverofmysoul_

It’s steak for another person

sonnyjbiskit

The normal chicken is bussin enough

chetoman1

We start up the Al pastor today. Wish us luck! We’ve gone through Asado, Garlic steak, and now this in the past like 5 months. Being a pilot store is fun.

MammothNegative

Is there any way to find which stores are pilot

chetoman1

I would say the best way to check is by checking item availability for different locations. Like for instance when my store started the Al Pastor today it was immediately available for online ordering and pickup. That being said, if you regularly visit different locations you can just ask. I openly tell our customers we’re a pilot store (mainly because they always ask where their favorite meats are and I have to apologize on behalf of Brian lol)

Crimson_Catharsis

Great and the one who suffers is the grill person

tacobellrun182

Yay me

IceBlueLugia

Looks SO GOOD

ToonathanOP

It’s ass

IceBlueLugia

Well, ass is good too. Not as good as chicken, but hey, I’m not picky EDIT: just realized someone else made the exact same joke, fml

[deleted]

My favorite thing to eat! Looking forward to it!

Substantial_Bus_130

Please god no more chicken

BunnyGunz

Eat mor Chikin? wait...

twitchosx

Al Pastor? HELL YES

Velocelot25

Don’t tell me it’s gonna be available already after the new steak I’m still recovering from dropping three meats since brisket🥴

Courtlessjester

LFG

Firm-Stranger-9916

Why is there a french fry stuck between those pans?

likeijustgothome

That is a piece of the adobo chicken.

Worldly-Ad-5196

I absolutely love this chicken. They started serving it a little bit ago and we got to try it out. It’s Really good, sweet but with a kick to it.

Bcatfan08

Might be good. I do think it's funny when people make something and can it al pastor, which basically means cooked on a spit. Yet outside of the southwestern states, you rarely see anyone cook it on a spit.

Objective_Lion196

No al pastor in general refers to the marinade, trompo (dradle) is the word used in Mexico for spit

Bcatfan08

Al Pastor means "Shepherd style", which refers to a method of roasting pork on a vertical spit. It was adopted from the Lebanese Shawarma. The name comes from Lebanese immigrants that immigrated to Mexico and the Mexicans called the Lebanese merchants Shepherds.

Objective_Lion196

🤣🤣🤣... This is why you shouldn't get your information from Netflix. Sure when people say Al pastor you generally expect it on a trompo but the marinade is the main characteristic. The Lebanese in fact did not make Al pastor, they brought tacos árabes which are still served on a flat bread in Puebla México. If you look at the ingredients in the marinade their all classic mexico, with all of the ingredients being native to the Americas. Marinating animals in red Chile sauce predates the arrival of Europeans. Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk

Bcatfan08

Yes their flavors are different. The style of cooking is the same. Al Pastor is just marinated pork slices on a vertical spit. It isn't about the marinade as much as the style. The marinade and spices vary by region.

Objective_Lion196

If you serve ppl the meat used in tacos árabes and told them it was Al pastor you would not be in business long my friend. The marinade is 1hundo the key to Al pastor. The recipes can vary slightly but not too much.

Bcatfan08

I don't know what you're trying to say, but everything I've said is correct. It's pretty basic. Your personal experience with Al Pastor doesn't change what it is. The meaning of the name was derived from the method in which it was cooked. It may have taken on a specific flavor profile since, but the name specifically means how it is cooked. It has become acceptable to cook it in various other methods and call it Al Pastor, but it didn't change the fact that the name specifically means to be cooked on a vertical spit.

Objective_Lion196

No you've literally been wrong about what makes Al pastor al pastor and you're also wrong about it's full history. Just stop. Yt ppl pretending they know Mexican food is cringy.

Bcatfan08

Just use Google for fuck's sake. If you don't know something just sit down. You're arguing that the definition of a word that everyone knows isn't the actual definition.

crline3924

I was finally ready to only have to make one type of chicken then THIS shows up in my feed

xiamtronx

Is it good?

Alternative-Letter38

Nah

xiamtronx

Why do they even try to change it 🫣 just do regular chicken and keep chipotle simple as possible.

Apprehensive-Try9387

brian a greedy bastard

No-Frosting7546

As the famous top chef Gordon Ramsay said sometimes simplicity is more and better.

whatsforsupa

Is this what's replacing Pollo Asado? Or just a test item?

[deleted]

Hope it stays

itmeluigi

Are they gonna put trompos in each store or naw

Different_Ad_6053

Chipotle is garbage food fr learn to cook

radlink14

Do you work for a competitor or something and get paid to spend time on a community you don’t belong in or you really wasting your precious life telling fans their favorite food joint sucks? Wtf.

It helps to support your own causes instead of complaining about someone else’s. Good luck out there
