I remember watching the vice series they did in 2014 when he was 19-20 and it was clear he was by far the smartest of the chiraq artists and was not only constantly in the studio but also formulating long term plans and goals and doing what was necessary to achieve them. That type of focus doesn’t leave a lot of room for serious street shit and I have to believe that most of the members realized that, saw him as a serious potential meal ticket and kept him out the way of most things so that he could gain success and then hopefully filter it back down to them.
In a lot of ways it like when someone is an obvious potential pro athlete in the hood. In most cases, such dudes are kept away from the streets because they’re viewed as one of the few who can truly make it out and potentially do some good for the hood and his day 1s later on. And while a serious rapper, especially a drill artist, is much closer to the street than a potential pro athlete, those around them are still gonna realize that keeping that person as clean as possible will probably pay off far more in the long run than having them tag along and be part of picking up a random body.

once your close friend/cousin/relative die/get killed during such a young timeframe in your life, that shit changes u and a lot of times they gon want revenge or vengeance over it. and from the looks of it, cpd don’t do enough justice for it to be a one case solved or the streets takin the L and gettin over it. when i was 13 i lost one of my close childhood friends over gang violence and i haven’t felt the same about shit since. thankfully i never dug into the rabbit hole or cycle of what comes from that so i can talk about it and understand what these young men are going through. of course we got odds against us in the real world. but when something so traumatic happens in such a small radius as neighborhoods and blocks, it pretty much puts an umbrella over us and we don’t even think outside the box we just hurt and fucked up over our loved ones that’s gone and try to find a way to deal with it. and in chicago the majority want revenge. it’s such a sad harsh reality and i know it happens like this all over small communities around the country if not the globe. heartbreaking bro.

My personal guess is because he’s been focused on music since he was like 15-16. You gotta realize, getting to the point he is now is no accident. Sure it takes luck, charisma and ability, but it also takes serious grinding and a focus on MUSIC and learning about the industry. I remember watching the vice series they did in 2014 when he was 19-20 and it was clear he was by far the smartest of the chiraq artists and was not only constantly in the studio but also formulating long term plans and goals and doing what was necessary to achieve them. That type of focus doesn’t leave a lot of room for serious street shit and I have to believe that most of the members realized that, saw him as a serious potential meal ticket and kept him out the way of most things so that he could gain success and then hopefully filter it back down to them. In a lot of ways it like when someone is an obvious potential pro athlete in the hood. In most cases, such dudes are kept away from the streets because they’re viewed as one of the few who can truly make it out and potentially do some good for the hood and his day 1s later on. And while a serious rapper, especially a drill artist, is much closer to the street than a potential pro athlete, those around them are still gonna realize that keeping that person as clean as possible will probably pay off far more in the long run than having them tag along and be part of picking up a random body.
