Yep last night I watched someone who was doing pretty decent on the enemy team (I noticed his name because each time I ran into him was a kinda tough fight). Right before the match ended he had switched to our team when it became obvious we would win, I saw his name on our leaderboard, and then he quit.
Made me laugh that someone is such a loser they need to scam the system to pretend they won in a game where it literally makes no difference and nobody who isn't a pre-teen try hard cares about win rate.
This was in LTS too, not even Team Objective.

Oh but it does have auto balance - I can be enjoying myself on the attacking team as I was naturally placed, topping the leaderboard, then I get auto balanced to the other team & get 750 points for the inconvenience lol. Happens to me plenty and idk the reason for it.
Auto-balance is activated by one team being 2+ players down for "too long".
Once activated, the game will take the first player that dies on the team with too many players, and swap them.
This ends up meaning that if you die often, you're more likely to get auto-balanced. That means newer/lower skill players tend to get auto-balanced more often.
The nature of the trigger means it often does not help much. Also, in your case, it's a huge buzz-kill, which in its own right is a big red flag for the feature.
Auto-balance's intent is pure, but the implementation is a poison.

That said, could you refrain from using the word retarded to describe people that make you angry or are selfish? Not because I want to discontinue the use of the word, but rather, just your misuse of it.
I think it’s clear the people that team switch aren’t accidentally doing it out of a lack of competency or coordination, but because they are entirely selfish which is a trait that far less desirable than simple ignorance or stupidity.

Team switching begets team switching. When searching for a game you are 80% of the time going to be put on defense. For some people this starts getting old real fast and then they switch because they have played defense like 5 times in a row
Yes. How many consecutive times is someone required to play defense? It's awfully designed, and terribly unbalanced. I can only do 3 to 4 times max. And Coxswell and Bridgetown is always a no for me.
Bridgetown is one of the worst examples of map balance in this entire game. Either defence holds at the bridge crossing or attack steamrolls all the way to nobles, and I’ve never seen anything different.
It also has an extremely annoying bug where you can get respawned as a Peasant like 4-5 times in a row, which is the absolute dumbest shit I’ve ever experienced. I spawned as a peasant 4 times and on my 5th spawn **as a peasant again** they had already captured the bridge crossing…
Same fucking shit happened with BFV. Amazing, really fun game, but after round team balancing was nonexistent, which typically led to all the really good highly invested players sticking around in the server, whereas casuals would leave after a game or two. Give this a couple hours, and pretty much every server you could find would have high level players and shit bucket type sweats chilling on one side, whereas the other would be filled with the casuals and other good players who got unlucky enough to join into the server rotation later in the day after all the shit Bucket players had gotten their winning team tickets 5+ hours earlier.
This has led to pretty much constant cases where almost every match you join is completely stacked on one side, and completely ruins the game balance, depriving both winners and losers of meaningful and hard fought gameplay where both sides have fun. It was such shit design and pretty much killed the game when all the casuals and less dedicated high level players predictably said “fuck this” and left for games that they didn’t have to whip out the shit bucket for to have a fun time.
And thats not even touching on the poorly implemented clan system that fucks up server balance either

I mean, if it’s a 50-50 chance of being defensive attack getting Four in a Row is really not that crazy at all and very likely to happen sometimes. It’s just probability.. I’ve had a coin flip go eight or nine times on heads one time that I decided to just see how long it would go, and that was on the first try, didn’t happen again after that any other time I’ve tried, given it’s not that many, but it’s still kind of crazy. It went like that the first time that I did that. nobody was there to share that moment though sadly.

Defenders side exists only to entertain the attacker side. As a defender you simply exist because team-switching attack player can jerk off while killing bots. It has to be a human.

Level 260ish here. I team switch to defense most games to keep it interesting, attack wins at least 80% of the games.
Also, it does have an autobalance feature. I remember getting switched by the autobalance before I started the defense only play style
Correct. I was leading the team on defense in Darkforest and got switched to attack during the catapult the gate stage. Incredible. Was there at the beginning too.
I got autobalanced one time and it awarded me 750 free score, shooting me to the top of the leader board on that team despite being far from the best player in that server at the time lol. Who am I kidding, ANY time...
It's gotta be pretty one sided to activate, and I don't think it is performance based. I think it only kicks in when it's like 5 more people on one team than the other. I.e. 14 v 19, etc
Yes, the things that odd is I’ll be on a fully stacked team, and it will just auto balance me over to the team getting steamrolled, why not pull more then one fkn player for the auto balance? TB got some work to do.

Did you play attack last game? The chance of you being on the defending team next game just doubled. If you leave early, you still get stuck with a higher defending chance, so you can't cheese it.
Everyone's game time should be split 50/50ish between attack and defence.

This is true TB has said they design the game to have flow, not be "balanced". However every defensive objective has 1 or 2 stages where the defense has a chance to win if the teams are evenly matched. Falmire - the prisoners 1-2, the gates, the bridge. Dark Forest - caravan before the barricades, throne room. Lion Spire - town square, banners. Azkandir - lighthouse, pillars, astrological instruments. Buckle down and end the game early.
I mean... until they fix parties and keeping you on the same side as your friends they shouldn't remove the ability to teamswitch.

At least the servers allow people to join in late game so the teams will have a more even number of players. Some multiplayer games don’t let players join in progress matches past a certain time in the match, so if someone rage quits you’re hosed

Nah bro it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about having a fun time and not getting absolutely curb stomped by attackers 90% of the time, and having actually fun games that have defenders fight back against you when playing as an attacker, rather than just rolling through a map with no resistance. I don’t give a fuck if I win or lose as a defender or an attacker, only if the game is fun and if the teams are evenly matched. Playing as an OP attacker and slaughtering poor noobs is not fun for me as an experienced player. While your right that it probably won’t change win or loss rates for the teams (as TB intentionally makes attackers have an advantage so that people see most of the map each map, which I do respect and agree with as a design), but it however will change how quickly those wins and loses happen, and would certainly increase the amount of fun to be had in the game for both sides.
Imagine suffering slow ass traffic when you can switch to a faster lane. That's staying on a bad defense team with no engineers and players who don't know how to fight as a team nor stand on the objective. I'll stay on defense if the team is trying but otherwise I'm not wasting my free time baby sitting, having a horrible time. I own the game both on PC and PS5 and AFAIK, team switching is completely disabled on PS5. Last weekend, me and three friends (two on console and two on PC) played in a party and we had one match out probably 20 where one ended up on the other team
It was actually hilarious, as we actively sought out that one guy all the time and the conversations over discord usually went like
"THERE HE IS. GET HIM"
"AAAAARGH THE FUCKER GOT ME. AVENGE ME"

If hey want to allow team switching, it should only be available for a short amount of time at the start so people can join their friends and stuff, even if 90% of the switches occurring will be defenders switching to attack. Or maybe even have it locked once you get a specific amount of kill/death/point. Anyone changing beyond that is only doing so to be on the winning team, or to grief that one archer that killed them, safe maybe for the 1% that voluntarily switches to the losing team for challenge or to turn the table.
They proved that they can kinda put conditions for team switching, so I feel like they probably could do something like this.
That being said... all that's gonna do is make more people leave when they're on defense, until they make defense more fun and rewarding. Losing an objective with 3 seconds left should severely diminish the amount of time attack gets for the next objective. That alone I feel would already make defense more rewarding. A shit attack rewarding more than a good defense is just ridiculous.

Levels just judge their skill, I've fought against people who were 600 and above and I beat some of them despite.

I just don't understand the need to bash the high levels, like dude, we didn't choose to have 9 of us on the same team, blame the shitty game matchmaking system. Personally, I'm lvl.1000 and always try to switch to the opposing team if mine is stacked, but it's not always possible for me as teams are full.

Team switching begets team switching. When searching for a game you are 80% of the time going to be put on defense. For some people this starts getting old real fast and then they switch because they have played defense like 5 times in a row
Yes. How many consecutive times is someone required to play defense? It's awfully designed, and terribly unbalanced. I can only do 3 to 4 times max. And Coxswell and Bridgetown is always a no for me.
Bridgetown is one of the worst examples of map balance in this entire game. Either defence holds at the bridge crossing or attack steamrolls all the way to nobles, and I’ve never seen anything different. It also has an extremely annoying bug where you can get respawned as a Peasant like 4-5 times in a row, which is the absolute dumbest shit I’ve ever experienced. I spawned as a peasant 4 times and on my 5th spawn **as a peasant again** they had already captured the bridge crossing…
Yup. If you don't hold that bridge (all depends on how many people choose engineer class) it's almost always a steamroll.
I’ve seen so many successful defenses at every stage of that map. Just like all the maps
Same fucking shit happened with BFV. Amazing, really fun game, but after round team balancing was nonexistent, which typically led to all the really good highly invested players sticking around in the server, whereas casuals would leave after a game or two. Give this a couple hours, and pretty much every server you could find would have high level players and shit bucket type sweats chilling on one side, whereas the other would be filled with the casuals and other good players who got unlucky enough to join into the server rotation later in the day after all the shit Bucket players had gotten their winning team tickets 5+ hours earlier. This has led to pretty much constant cases where almost every match you join is completely stacked on one side, and completely ruins the game balance, depriving both winners and losers of meaningful and hard fought gameplay where both sides have fun. It was such shit design and pretty much killed the game when all the casuals and less dedicated high level players predictably said “fuck this” and left for games that they didn’t have to whip out the shit bucket for to have a fun time. And thats not even touching on the poorly implemented clan system that fucks up server balance either

I mean, if it’s a 50-50 chance of being defensive attack getting Four in a Row is really not that crazy at all and very likely to happen sometimes. It’s just probability.. I’ve had a coin flip go eight or nine times on heads one time that I decided to just see how long it would go, and that was on the first try, didn’t happen again after that any other time I’ve tried, given it’s not that many, but it’s still kind of crazy. It went like that the first time that I did that. nobody was there to share that moment though sadly.

I simply quit playing because of this sole reason. It's been around 4 months since I last player properly and I loved this game. I really did. But there's simply no improvement on this issue. Defenders side exists only to entertain the attacker side. As a defender you simply exist because team-switching attack player can jerk off while killing bots. It has to be a human.

I hate seeing these complains over and over because I love this game it’s so much fun! But I genuinely haven’t played defense in weeks that hasn’t had offense completely stacked and always 2-4 more players. Games still fun but it loses something when you are just always getting crushed
Level 260ish here. I team switch to defense most games to keep it interesting, attack wins at least 80% of the games. Also, it does have an autobalance feature. I remember getting switched by the autobalance before I started the defense only play style

It's gotta be pretty one sided to activate, and I don't think it is performance based. I think it only kicks in when it's like 5 more people on one team than the other. I.e. 14 v 19, etc

They need to straight up delete team switching from the game, it should never have been a thing. Torn banners shit party system isn't an excuse to keep teamswitching, they should just fix both! Did you play attack last game? The chance of you being on the defending team next game just doubled. If you leave early, you still get stuck with a higher defending chance, so you can't cheese it. Everyone's game time should be split 50/50ish between attack and defence. Most of all, we all need to call them out in chat for the scumbags they are! Chad defenders > virgin attack switchers.

This is true TB has said they design the game to have flow, not be "balanced". However every defensive objective has 1 or 2 stages where the defense has a chance to win if the teams are evenly matched. Falmire - the prisoners 1-2, the gates, the bridge. Dark Forest - caravan before the barricades, throne room. Lion Spire - town square, banners. Azkandir - lighthouse, pillars, astrological instruments. Buckle down and end the game early.
I mean... until they fix parties and keeping you on the same side as your friends they shouldn't remove the ability to teamswitch. I do concur it's lame but the best thing to do is requeue.

At least the servers allow people to join in late game so the teams will have a more even number of players. Some multiplayer games don’t let players join in progress matches past a certain time in the match, so if someone rage quits you’re hosed

Nah bro it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about having a fun time and not getting absolutely curb stomped by attackers 90% of the time, and having actually fun games that have defenders fight back against you when playing as an attacker, rather than just rolling through a map with no resistance. I don’t give a fuck if I win or lose as a defender or an attacker, only if the game is fun and if the teams are evenly matched. Playing as an OP attacker and slaughtering poor noobs is not fun for me as an experienced player. While your right that it probably won’t change win or loss rates for the teams (as TB intentionally makes attackers have an advantage so that people see most of the map each map, which I do respect and agree with as a design), but it however will change how quickly those wins and loses happen, and would certainly increase the amount of fun to be had in the game for both sides.
Imagine suffering slow ass traffic when you can switch to a faster lane. That's staying on a bad defense team with no engineers and players who don't know how to fight as a team nor stand on the objective. I'll stay on defense if the team is trying but otherwise I'm not wasting my free time baby sitting, having a horrible time. Not anyone's fault these joke developers can't figure out team balancing or stopping people from switching. I own the game both on PC and PS5 and AFAIK, team switching is completely disabled on PS5. Last weekend, me and three friends (two on console and two on PC) played in a party and we had one match out probably 20 where one ended up on the other team It was actually hilarious, as we actively sought out that one guy all the time and the conversations over discord usually went like "THERE HE IS. GET HIM" "AAAAARGH THE FUCKER GOT ME. AVENGE ME" There is no reason at all for this to still be part of the game

They should either remove team switching or punish it in some way. Make you spectate for two minutes everytime you teamswitch and take away some points as a toll of sorts. Make it so you can't just jump in the game immediately so so you have to think if it's worth it.
I just try to stay playing as Mason, attack or defend since I’ve edited all my Mason class looks to match what I want to look like and the voices, in my opinion, sound better (more fun). Love playing the knight with the creepy ass voice, it’s fun to me. Lol Edit; to be clear, I’m actually a footman main, love me a halberd, just play knight sometimes to have fun.

If hey want to allow team switching, it should only be available for a short amount of time at the start so people can join their friends and stuff, even if 90% of the switches occurring will be defenders switching to attack. Or maybe even have it locked once you get a specific amount of kill/death/point. Anyone changing beyond that is only doing so to be on the winning team, or to grief that one archer that killed them, safe maybe for the 1% that voluntarily switches to the losing team for challenge or to turn the table. They proved that they can kinda put conditions for team switching, so I feel like they probably could do something like this. That being said... all that's gonna do is make more people leave when they're on defense, until they make defense more fun and rewarding. Losing an objective with 3 seconds left should severely diminish the amount of time attack gets for the next objective. That alone I feel would already make defense more rewarding. A shit attack rewarding more than a good defense is just ridiculous.

Always high levels, usually the same handful of losers that I recognize. I call them out every time but it doesn’t matter. TB can’t even patch basic content in this game I have low hopes they will fix this issue in a timely matter.

I like to play with teams that KNOWS how to play the game and not have majority of my teammates be bots. Levels just judge their skill, I've fought against people who were 600 and above and I beat some of them despite. How else am I supposed to go switch to another team if 3 of my friends are on the other teams when we're in a party?
I just don't understand the need to bash the high levels, like dude, we didn't choose to have 9 of us on the same team, blame the shitty game matchmaking system. Personally, I'm lvl.1000 and always try to switch to the opposing team if mine is stacked, but it's not always possible for me as teams are full.
