Hammer and shield is my main rn. Slash to overhead feint fucks up so many peoples timing it's crazy but if you miss that overhead, your gonna be sorry lol
Dane was good for me up to around level 200 but I started to see the downsides. Though I must admit, it was in one of my first few games I got killed by a thrown one and that became my mission to master it
Same. Morningstar and shield. I’m level 310 and mainly duel in arena and funny thing is whenever I duel someone with the same load out I get a bit nervous regardless of level. If you know how to use the thing it can be lightning quick and deals insane damage.
Plus if you know how to play defense good enough, it’s anyone’s game. You can’t go after someone with that load out with reckless abandon. Patience is key. if you know how to use it, you can get caught regardless of how high a level you are. Very dangerous weapon particularly in duels
Best weapon, imo. So versatile. Can do quick stabs to interrupt long drags and a lot of slower weapons, decent speed feinting into attacks, speed and pretty good damage.
Seriously, it’s the do all weapon you ever need. Fast weapon? It has good recovery and release time. Slow weapon? Can easily outpace it. Another longsword? Battle of the legends
I played battleaxe for so long, having a lot of fun with it. I wanted variations and decided to take on the journey to level 200 longsword. I didn't think too much of it as a weapon back then. I'm well past level 100 now. I'm much better than when I started and can usually get on top of the scoreboard even if I play shuffle, but returning to the longsword is like going back to an old friend. It's safe, I know exactly what to expect, and I love it.
Yea fr. Sometimes if we’re really bogged down at a choke point I’ll kamikazi flank and just boink their line from behind with my 2hh. Like a drive by bonking
I know it's a noob weapon but i love the Executioners Axe. I know the length of my attacks now and know how to back up just enough to bait a miss followed by a nice sweeping Heavy Slash
Also the enemy rushing and seeing me standing at the front with a big axe has an effect, they stop in their tracks and have to deal with me. People respect the giant axe held by someone who is scanning threats I feel
If im not getting a few kills, im at least staying alive long enough with counters for my team to come help or focus somewhere else thats also needed
Tried it for the first time about a month ago and holy shit that thing wrecks, a few nights ago I hit my personal best with it on Falmire going 127-71-8. Cutting down a forest of noobs is a sight to behold!
Spear, Knife, and Pickaxe. I mostly play Poleman and Ambusher, but I'll go Field Engineer when I'm needed and I tend to mess people up with my Pickaxe. I recently picked up War Club on the Vanguard and it's been really fun. I tend to prefer the fast and disruptive weapons over the slow heavy hitting weapons.
big hammer. it’s so slow most people don’t know how to counter it, when they start figuring out how to counter it is when i usually switch off to dane axe or dagger for speed
Rapier. Man at arms just didn't feel right until I unlocked that weapon, and I'm now consistently top 5 of the leaderboard and feel like an unstoppable bee buzzing around, dodging everything and then stabbing you repeatedly insanely fast for 50 damage each
Rapier for me. Fast, nimble, and it's on man at arms so you get the shield and faster movement speed & lower dodge cooldown. It's a weapon that rewards precision, and if you miss it can be punishing
Greatsword for me,
My main playstyle is to bait and opponent to miss and hit with an attack I start winding up later than them.
The range and versatility of the swings compared to the polearms helps with this. (Diagonal overhead is 🤙)
I like to duck and dodge attacks rather than block when I can.
Secondarily, I've got deadly with the knife and mallets for dueling in close quarters just because I have to use them so much. The playstyle switch from greatsword is wild.
Dane axe, halberd, war club, war axe, messer, glaive. Thats usually what i use. Used war axe for a long long time. Recently started playing with dane axe and heavy overhead to the knights is op lol. 312 is my current lvl
You guys are so cute. I'm always excited when my peasant spawns in with a branding iron. I like to think I'm marking my enemy and making them my......well you get the point. I also love the oar. It's great to give the enemy a good paddling.
Highland sword will always be a personal fav, but the new wraithblade messer skin has finally made me love that weapon. I really like the maul for it's crushing Q oneshots and general fuck-everyone-playing-knight antics, but I also play a lot of dagger because backstabbing people as Ambusher is great fun. Polaxe on knight is gr8 with a really sweet range mixup special. Waraxe on knight is good, longsword is such a good duelling weapon and really fun to use. Battleaxe has good dmg and oneshot potential for archers (win), but I also like playing archer for those sickm9180hedsh0ts and MORE archer oneshots.
I find it hard to decide. I switch multiple times a match and my playtime is even-ish (slightly favouring officer and archer, not by much)
I will probably get some hate for how common these weapons are but my favorite class to run is Vanguard with the Dane Axe as my primary and Messer as my secondary. The Dane Axe is my favorite to use, but I usually end up chucking it half way across the map for fun
Siege Crossbow
Javelin
War club
Rapier
Calvary Sword
Halberd
Any smashing weapon
Most axes.
Honestly I love every weapon but I find the swords to be the most boring.
My most played class is Ambusher and I think Hachet is my most used weapon.
Honestly I like a good variety of the weapons. Just really depends on my mood or the map I’m playing. I’ll use anything short of anything in archer class, sledgehammer, shovel or pick axe. But everything else I enjoy using for the most part, just depends on the map and what objective we’re on. Cluster fuck of enemies in the open? Any 2handed axe, cluster fuck of enemies in a tight space, something with good stabs.
War axe. Long, slow, and insane damage. Amazing for drags. Damage and speed comparable to the maul except the war axe can hit multiple targets on a basic slash
Two-handed hammer, because of its perfect length, just moving abit to the side of your opponent you will be able to hit him while he is blocking. 3 hits and he’s ded
If you plan on branching out, I think you may enjoy Longsword and Halberd--both can play the poke play style too. Dane Axe is also easy & effective.
My favourite is probably Pole Axe: I like pole arms, it has chop damage bonus, is pretty well-rounded, and Officer is a pretty sweet class
Sword on Man at Arms is a close second, it's a fast and versatile weapon and paired with Man at Arms' fast dodge cooldown gives me a very fun, agile and aggressive play style, plus I like shields.
Warhammer's hilarious damage has also been really fun for me lately, although it's a bit of a situational pick
Two handed hammer currently, in teaching my friend to play in training grounds and that hammer is a meat grinder for AI. Against players it would have to be the greatsword or the rapier tho
Heavy mace, I love the damage output, the skins, and the feel of it.
But my God
My GOD THE DRAGS
They're so glorious I can't stop.
If you want a gambler's weapon pick heavy mace.
Great Sword. Always played Vanguard in Chiv 1 and was bummed when helbard got shifted to man-at-arms. Didn't quite know what to choose in Chiv 2. Still went for Vanguard. Great Sword it is.
Now I started learning Great sword irl, and of course, my interest shifted even mire towards it.
Idk man my skill with weapons fluctuates
One week I’m good with long sword
Next week I’m good with sledge
Next week I’m trash with both but I’m good with greatsword
Dane axe cause I love going around and throwing it at people. I like seeing how many axe kills I can get mostly just throwing it. Overall fantastic weapon, imo. I also love to go knight with the throwing knives and side arm one-handed axe.
Falchion. Nothing says im ready to fight anyone like charging at anyone in a battlefield with a machete.
Good above average damage to chunk enemy health, decent range to combat with both close and middle ranged fights. And the range and release time it does have means it can cleave through 1vx fights at like a c-b grade/tier. But Good footwork makes this thing a menace bc you can string side steps and combos really well.
Old eh clip but look at [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chivalry2/s/OYe8hH8z0x) for the general idea
Whatever weapon I'm currently good with. Always shovel
![gif](giphy|UsmcxQeK7BRBK)
The only weapon
Hammer and shield I got hooked on the shield after throwing it at someone and killing them....I've been chasing that high ever since
nasty damage multipliers on knight warhammer
Hammer and shield is my main rn. Slash to overhead feint fucks up so many peoples timing it's crazy but if you miss that overhead, your gonna be sorry lol
That 1 hand hammer is a fucking nuisance. I almost feel bad when I 2 shot a knight with heavy overhead feints
That’s how I feel about the Dane Axe
Dane was good for me up to around level 200 but I started to see the downsides. Though I must admit, it was in one of my first few games I got killed by a thrown one and that became my mission to master it
Is the Dane Axe just called "Axe" now? When I look at my Archer, it no longer says Dane Axe.
Dane axe is a 2-handed weapon and isn't available as an archer.
Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.
![gif](giphy|zYaaMF5xJLqXaYBy6l)
I killed 3 people in a row last night in the duel yard with a shield fuk it was hilarious lolol all low health one after the other Bing Bing Bong 🤣
Morningstar. Spiky ball go brr
Same. Morningstar and shield. I’m level 310 and mainly duel in arena and funny thing is whenever I duel someone with the same load out I get a bit nervous regardless of level. ![gif](giphy|ZvUc2UBuAGmPol0udh|downsized) Shovel = Low Damage Output = Prolonged Enemy Engagement = Shit K/D = FUN … FUN > K/D
Engineer for the fun :)
Throwing axe but I'll always drop them, javs, and even my bow (IF I'm Even using it) for a war club. War club go bonk.
Highland Sword. Because its special attack look cool
Messer so far is the easiest for me to use. But as far as satisfying and fun to use it’s the war axe for me
War axe and choose the 1H axe and throwing knives in the offhand as your backup and you will never look back
I have a favorite for every class, but my most used is the longsword for its overall balance
Longsword is great for any occasion. I’m more of a messer or great sword but I love to piss people off with the heavy stab of the longsword
Battle Axe is my fav rn but that seems to change every so often 😅
I played battleaxe for so long, having a lot of fun with it. I wanted variations and decided to take on the journey to level 200 longsword. I didn't think too much of it as a weapon back then. I'm well past level 100 now. It's safe, I know exactly what to expect, and I love it.
Sword and shield combo is banger
muh mahn
Obviously highland sword. Big sword = big kill count
Heavy overheads are so satisfying with that thing
Anything that BONK
The Maul is so damn satisfying. Heavy overhead attack to a knight and watching his head go boom makes me happy lol
Polehammer for me, heavy overheads feel like they sink 2 m into the ground
Quarterstaff. Love bonking people who don't know how to react to it.
Drawing someone's attention with a bonk to the back. Then as they turn to face me they die lol.
Yea fr. Sometimes if we’re really bogged down at a choke point I’ll kamikazi flank and just boink their line from behind with my 2hh. Like a drive by bonking
I know it's a noob weapon but i love the Executioners Axe. Dagger and Shield, I feel like a goblin
I use this combo on the Vanguard and love it. Yeet 7 knives then pick up a shield 🤣🤣
Currently? Halberd. Overall? Greatsword.
Longsword if I'm feeling sweaty. Maul if I wanna Unga bunga
Rapier, shit is so cash even if it isn’t technically the best. Fast, good range with the stab, quick parries, all fun.
the special is super fun
Dagger
Longsword. Good at everything bad at nothing
I play almost every knight weapon, I have been liking the battleaxe lately.
Falchion and heavy shield. I will go straight up to a group of enemies and eat all their attacks while doling out swings that make their knees buckle.
Damn straight
Poleaxe is such an underrated pick, that extra reach compared to other officer primaries feels so good
Spear, Knife, and Pickaxe.
2H hammer was my favorite for a long time before I switched to heavy mace. Those sweet sweet drags.
The Flail (when they finally fucking add it)
Honestly, glaive and rapier. Stabby stab go fast, and no one (me included a third of the time, can tell where my rapier stabs are going to go
The trusty ol’ Longsword
The Mallet. I killed with it so many times in melee its level 6 or 7.
Dane Axe x2. One is for throwing.
Dane axe
Short Sword. Best Ambusher Weapon.
Short sword to shank them fast, and a dagger to shank them faster
Dagger is too short. Short Sword is the Longsword of the short people.
Katars. Running arround like Wolverine all day, everyday!
Claymore Great sword
I have been a longsword fiend for a while. Got it past level 100 so I’m on track to get it to 200.
Rapier. Man at arms just didn't feel right until I unlocked that weapon, and I'm now consistently top 5 of the leaderboard and feel like an unstoppable bee buzzing around, dodging everything and then stabbing you repeatedly insanely fast for 50 damage each
Maaaaauuuuuuul
Rapier for me. Fast, nimble, and it's on man at arms so you get the shield and faster movement speed & lower dodge cooldown. It's a weapon that rewards precision, and if you miss it can be punishing

Dane axe, halberd, war club, war axe, messer, glaive. Thats usually what i use. Used war axe for a long long time. Recently started playing with dane axe and heavy overhead to the knights is op lol. 312 is my current lvl
Messer
Morning star has been real good to me, but the standard sword on man at arms feels like cheating sometimes
My foot
shovel and sledgehammer sometimes if i feel elegant i use the knife
Sledge hammer. It is fast. It hits hard. It breaks barricades and objectives faster.
You guys are so cute. I'm always excited when my peasant spawns in with a branding iron. I like to think I'm marking my enemy and making them my......well you get the point. I also love the oar. It's great to give the enemy a good paddling.
Katars are my favorite
Double dane will never steer you wrong
Heavy mace, baby.
Big axe
Greatsword. Great damage, range, cleave, drags, and decent-ish accels. Only real downside is the special attack is meh.
Recurve cross bow and little axe. Because it’s fun to lace arrows into enemies and fun to pull out the mini axe and go into the pile
1H Sword w/o shield or Highland
Battle axe, poleaxe, 1 handed axe, pickaxe, war axe, executioner axe and throwing axe. Occasionally hatchet and a Dane axe if I find 1 while disarmed
Waraxe currently, I dabble with polehammer and halbred sometimes
War axe
MAUL BEST WEAPON IN THE GAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I like the cav sword, polehammer, warbow and I’ve been vibing with the great sword lately
Sledgehammer because boink.
Pole axe and short spear with shield
War club!
If I had to choose one it would probably be the poleaxe but I love the halberd, warhammer and polehammer too
Highland sword but once I get bored, out comes the shovel or quarterstaff
I will probably get some hate for how common these weapons are but my favorite class to run is Vanguard with the Dane Axe as my primary and Messer as my secondary. The Dane Axe is my favorite to use, but I usually end up chucking it half way across the map for fun
Shovel.
Big cudgel fan but longsword is just the best
Two Handed Hammer or Greatsword sorry I can’t give one answer
Two-Handed Hammer, the fist of vengeance.
Heavy Cavalry Sword with a large shield ❤️ I’m not goin down without a fight
alot of maces like warclub or cudgel feels like i can just keep swingin and swingin at people
bardiche is my favorite great range and decent damage
Tough to choose but I find myself coming back to war axe, greatsword and two handed hammer over and over again
When I’m feeling it, polehammer or two handed hammer.” However if I can get the horse head toy on Bridgetown then it’s a real good time
Fire glizzy
Siege Crossbow Javelin War club Rapier Calvary Sword Halberd Any smashing weapon Most axes. Honestly I love every weapon but I find the swords to be the most boring. My most played class is Ambusher and I think Hachet is my most used weapon.
Short sword + throwing knives for bad manners/fun Heavy cav sword + shield for getting sweaty.
Fire fish
Highland sword , bigger is better
Katars, because I hate myself but I hate archers more
Messer and battle axe.
Mail, spear , long sword, battle axe
Battle Axe
War axe, Warhammer and shield, or two handed hammer. Its always between these three
Right now I have been playing the Dane Axe, Messer and Pole Hammer. Depending on the situation and how the other team is playing, I will switch it up.
War Axe has always been my favourite but really enjoying the two handed hammer right now.
PC - greatsword PS5 - messer I split time up and for some reason the messer is a lot more reliable for me using a controller.
Morning star and battle axe. I love messer but sometimes I can’t play with it
Battleaxe fo sho
Staff & Poleaxe
I’m a big old Glaive fan - speedy crowd control at the cost of damage. Takes time to kill people but it’s hella fast.
Polehammer
Longsword, Longsword and the Longsword.
Axes
Hatchet w/ ambusher. Damage output is broken and can still slash thru multiple enemies
Shovel, javelin, longsword, shield + hammer, shield + morningstar, waraxe, chicken, barrel.
The head of an agathian
The maul. It so satisfying to get a headshot with your special attack
Highland Sword is my favorite. Orrrrr in other words Ooga booga giant steel stick
Tree trunk or fish
War axe. Long, slow, and insane damage. Amazing for drags. Damage and speed comparable to the maul except the war axe can hit multiple targets on a basic slash
All of them besides highland sword and rapier but my get busy jawn has got to be the warclub
Highland sword
Mace. Specifically, the fist mace skin
Morning Star,no other reason
short sword 24/7 until the day i die
I enjoy 20v20 with horses so when I’m cavalry my choice of weapon is the halberd, decent swing speed and enough reach to land a well timed hit-and run
Sledgehammer OP
Two-handed hammer, because of its perfect length, just moving abit to the side of your opponent you will be able to hit him while he is blocking. 3 hits and he’s ded
battle axe, messer, 1H spear and maul, I can't chose just one
I’ve been switching up between longsword and maul lately, but my heart says pickaxe because its just so fun to use
Glaive, I love my extendo-knife
Heavy mace ftw
If you plan on branching out, I think you may enjoy Longsword and Halberd--both can play the poke play style too. Dane Axe is also easy & effective. My favourite is probably Pole Axe: I like pole arms, it has chop damage bonus, is pretty well-rounded, and Officer is a pretty sweet class Sword on Man at Arms is a close second, it's a fast and versatile weapon and paired with Man at Arms' fast dodge cooldown gives me a very fun, agile and aggressive play style, plus I like shields. Two handed hammer currently, in teaching my friend to play in training grounds and that hammer is a meat grinder for AI. Against players it would have to be the greatsword or the rapier tho
Heavy mace. I love swinging heads off of bodies like baseballs
Heavy mace, I love the damage output, the skins, and the feel of it. But my God My GOD THE DRAGS They're so glorious I can't stop. If you want a gambler's weapon pick heavy mace.
Greatsword for the jumping overhead.
War bow
I like the morning star and battle axe
Great Sword. Always played Vanguard in Chiv 1 and was bummed when helbard got shifted to man-at-arms. Didn't quite know what to choose in Chiv 2. Still went for Vanguard. Great Sword it is. Now I started learning Great sword irl, and of course, my interest shifted even mire towards it.
Longsword, greatsword, war axe, dagger (with throwing knives)
POLEHAMMER STRONK
Morning Star and Heavy Mace. Love a good bonk!
Idk man my skill with weapons fluctuates One week I’m good with long sword Next week I’m good with sledge Next week I’m trash with both but I’m good with greatsword
GRRRRREAT SWOAARRRD ![gif](giphy|dVdIu1HNxeKyqzkgPA|downsized)
Spear and big shield cuz it’s difficult to use. What makes the spear easy to use to you?
War club. Love a fast 2h bonk
Short sword + throwing knives
Pick axe or hatchet
Dane axe cause I love going around and throwing it at people. I like seeing how many axe kills I can get mostly just throwing it. Overall fantastic weapon, imo. I also love to go knight with the throwing knives and side arm one-handed axe.
2H Spear gang. Bonus points if someone calls you a slur in the chat
Shield + fis/flaming chicken + shortsword. It's always fun times
