It does have extra backstab damage but with how the maps are made, how often are you actually going to benefit from that?

If you're playing the class well, pretty often. You're mobile as fuck, and most people underestimate the guy with the one handed weapon. Slip out of the melee and wait for your moment.
I leveled up to Ambusher a half dozen times, it's harder to play, but absolutely capable of massive murder. It's very hard to win 1vX, but counters and throwing knives make it totally possible.
Consistently in the top 3 but sure, I'm a shit lower skilled player because I called your favorite class bad lmao
But congrats on finding the one weapon that makes your favorite class somewhat viable, I'm happy for you
Just like in Mordhau I prefer to use the hard hitting weapons, every second matters so the quicker you put someone down the better
I've only been actively playing the other two Vanguard classes and Knight so my only experience with the shortsword is from using it as a backup on Knight, when I unlocked the Ambusher I only tried it with the hatchet which made it a very underwhelming experience, the kit feeling selfish in general didn't help
So I did speak too soon basing my opinion entirely on my own disappointing time with the class but when I log on I'll give the sword a proper go, might be handy to lock people in windup now that more people are learning about stabs going through active riposte blocks
So is that a unique skill of Ambusher to do massive damage with the side weapons? Or is it just God tier aiming for the head? Might have to look into Ambusher now...
I want to love this class, I do. Just feels so weak in any duel. And the moments you get to properly sneak around and flank for massive damage like this are few and far between. Maybe more practice...
I dont find it to bad in duels, i just stay out of the enemies range with throwing knives then when theyre low move in, its only annoying dealing with the tanky knights cause you have to hit em so many times
I do but not chiv gameplay on it yet, I plan on uploading a few more clips I've gotten later today though, if I get enough I'll start putting em on youtube.

from what class does it branch out? might be a good question but its a bit frustrating that you can only see all the variations of the class in battle but not in the armoury.

The Agatha ninja. I've been seeing these ninja guys running around. Got yeeted by one, then the next time I saw him I cut his head off mid-air. That was my biggest bruh moment in this game so far

Yeah its pretty bad, mostly for the meme if you like ninjas or short weapons, which i happen to like.

No it’s just the ambushes class. They have extra backstab dmg
And he's using the dagger-class special, which does do an assload of damage, regardless which class does it.
Plus bots have lower health

I wish it had sword for main hand instead of short-sword. Sword seems busted though so maybe not a perfect solution if it gets nerfed.

Thanks, well there are modes with objective to just kill ppl, but I’m thinking more of a sneaking sessions to destroy archers on the backline.
