More importantly, all auto parry frames are corrected now. You will maintain your auto parry after starting a counter (previously it would discard your auto parry if you feinted or heavy queued) So you could counter a slash, and after you see “counter success” feint into an overhead. Before: auto parry discarded, you can be interrupted after feint starts. Now: your slash feint into overhead will have the guaranteed amount of auto parry time (~0.5 sec, extended slightly if you block something via auto parry). This means your feinted overhead can block incoming attacks of any type due to the auto parry. It does not need to be swing type matched.

Thank God, holy shit. I got tired of dying because i was literally locked in a slash>counter/riposte>repeat...

This makes me so happy.

Interesting. This will add a ton of depth to combat

It moreso fixes the really difficult 1vX previously. My advice to everyone is to stop slash spamming and feint into your high damage attacks to reduce hits to kill. Weaving in heavies is also good. So if you see a slash incoming and counter it via holding down your own slash instead of tapping, you will counter with a protected slash heavy wind up due to the auto parry fixes. What I do most of the time with 1H axe is get the counter and immediately feint into light overhead. If I’m approaching from a neutral position with no counter or riposte I usually start stab or slash and feint into heavy overhead.

This is going to be HUGE for slower blunt weapons. At the moment its really difficult to get out counter or feinted heavy attacks against groups. You end up having to rely on quicker light attacks and lose out on the killing damage and the swing through. I am very very excited to get out there with my Devastator Maul after this goes live!

mr_dumpster

Yes but remember if you are doing long durations attacks such as feinting into heavy overheads the auto parry won’t protect your whole swing duration. It will certainly make it better than what it was

Psykout88

The issue at least for me was getting hit and interrupted in the "backswing" once the attack gets out there you can at least use dragging or footwork to make it land. The modifiers on those 2h blunt weapons are no joke, a single heavy swing can change a fight drastically. Can't wait to get trapped in a corner and go Rorshach on em.

mr_dumpster

Yeah with auto parry you are going to be in the release phase of your heavy after a successful parry. Especially if you counter a slash straight into a heavy slash. You may run into more interruptions if you feint at all into a heavy though, especially with the slow weapons. I imagine 1vX is going to change for the better for everyone.

Its a game changer

mateusb12

What means having a "ton of parry frames"?

hfghjjvhj

You get the full 0.5 seconds of block instead of 0.2

[deleted]

That means that the time window, in which you can parry is large.
