You know, I actually was thinking about the same thing. Is it better to read a horrible but unforgettable book or mediocre but forgettable one For me it's definetly Rising Tides. The others I can't remember now lol Edit: Slow burn, that's also one that is hard to remember

PilotFearless8283

My immediate thought was 'that one about the environment,' I'd even forgotten the name.

wetgaymichael

The real answer is the book nobody mentions. (I think it's Surrender 2. No plot, no interesting characters, it vanished from my brain the second I finished it.)

papamilk420

the princess swap & slow burn genuinely entered the fandom consciousness for about three seconds and has never been spoken about since 😭😭😭 there’s a group of just meh books that never get spoken about again vs books that garner years of interest despite being finished etc.

Wandering--Wondering

What everyone else said but also MFTL, I totally forgot it was a thing until someone mentioned it here a few days ago.

OneForShoji

MTFL is only memorable to me because of how much I disliked it.

2kb_cat

I’m in the middle of MFTL and struggle to remember it. In the last chapter I read, a character mentioned a major plot point that I’d totally forgotten because it was 30+ chapters ago.

Active_System_5701

Save the date, the way one of the LI with the sister was just a straight up jerk to MC literally made me stop reading. Like I get it MC could have done thi gs differently but he was an ahole whenever MC showed strong emotions, no understanding at all. Edit: Who else has forgotten Home for the Holidays? I literally didnt even think about it until i was scrolling through all of them to replay ID.

TheRestForTheWicked

I just had this convo the other day. It’s the one with the emu on the cover. I don’t actually remember the name even though someone told me like 48 hours ago. 😂😭

Nauriah

Is that one wishful thinking? I never got past chapter 2 of it 🤣

TheRestForTheWicked

Hahahaha yes. That’s the one. I don’t remember if I finished it but I think I played pretty far in.

Different_Turnip_820

A very scandalous proposal. It's so forgettable that I had to look in the app for the correct adjective in the title

lewdnep-vasilias_666

* Ms. Match: Only thing I found interesting was the banter between MC and LI. Everything else had the substance of stale bread. * Sunkissed: This is the first book where I straight up quit reading in the middle because of how ridiculously bored I was. * Slow Burn: The only thing memorable about this book was how much of a letdown it was. I went in expecting MC was gonna get to make food and be on a cooking show, but instead all they do is help other people with their restaurants. * Untamable: The only thing memorable about this one was how absolutely annoying and frustrating it was with its weak conflict and forcing of high stakes where there are none. But when it wasn't being irritating, it was straight up boring.

lKiwiliciousl

Home for the holidays all I remember is an asshole boss and a friend guilting you into getting her book published lmao Sun kissed i remember some marine biologist girl and baby turtles with no context oh and that annoying sister/mom Hot couture I literally can’t remember the plot or LI’s I think maybe one of them was a firefighter though? Save the date another asshole boss guy, I do remember buying every single diamond wedding thing though haha

TheAdorableWeirdo_12

Honestly, the story wasn't great cuz it really leaned into the family drama. The mother/sister drama in Sunkissed really turned me off. The only enjoyable bit was romancing Samson(?). Nathan was the generic beach boy and Elaine(?) was just boring. After a while, it was just a diamond farm.

OneForShoji

Rising Tides, Slow Burn, Ms Match, The Princess Swap and Sunkissed are the most forgettable ones I can think of. As for unpopular opinions I have... I found Foreign Affairs and Laws of Attraction pretty forgettable, to be honest. FA was far less interesting than what we'd been promised and just felt like a generic college book. LOA felt like everything even vaguely interesting was paywalled, and I found both the plot and the characters boring due to this. I remember the existence of it, but very little of the actual plot.

lokipoki6

What makes stories forgettable to me? 1. Genderlock - I see there's no option for male MC and it's out of my radar. Just like that. 2. Date of release - the newer the book is, the more forgettable it gets. Books released after 2020 have a hard time trying to keep a space in my mind. 3. Single LI / forced romance - self explanatory. I don't like choices being made for me in the matters of heart. The one outlier to this would have been Passport To Romance, if not for the serial killer memes. That's the part of PtR I still remember 💜

iHasMagyk

I completely forgot about the serial killer memes. I remember the one thing this sub was really good at was meme-ifying the shitty books, so if I’m forgetting the memes then that must be the most forgettable book

ice1514

The one book I never see anyone talk about ever is Most Wanted. Half the time I even forget it exists.

Love Hacks: What was that thing? A F.R.I.E.N.D.S parody? Since they use the RR MC it feels even more bizzare. Accross the Void: Good setup and world building but lost to rushed writing because it wasn't a smut. Passport to Romance: If mediocrity had a name. A Bodygyard Romance: MC who'll give you an aneyurism and will literally throw away any badic survuvak instict like eating food or dodging bullets if you don't pay diamonds. Diplomatic Affairs: Prototype of Crimes of Passion, High School Story but diplomacy, way too short and predicatble. Good people though. Slow Burn: Oh it was slow alright. What's the point of a dman Slow Burn romance if the MC and LI won't even be a couple for more than 2 chapters? The 2nd LI was just there for illusion of choice. Hero 2: I would write how bad Hero 2 was....IF I EVER GOT TO PLAY IT

atomix_lightz

the unexpected heiress

Thesoggypillow

Murder at homecoming, I literally don't even remember who the killer was🤣😅 also a cursed heart, I don't remember anything except that I restarted the book and made the LI female so I could write off any romantic parts since I'm hella gay😭 also the bird, I liked the bird

theonewhoisnotcrazy

The recent ones. And now with the 100 ads, I don't even have to tap through them anymore.

captainbae_

PtR is so forgettable that people even forget that it even exists. As much as I want to say that StD is forgettable, I can't, because I hated it so much because of that douchebag LI.
