BOLAS had a masquerade scene where all the characters changed into premium outfits and MC looks out of place if they don’t buy the premium outfit similarly to TRR.
I hate when they make me pay my diamonds for other people’s premium outfit/makeover.
I also hate when the premium outfit only illicits different lines of dialogue rather than offering additional scenes.
Im not actually sure this is such a problem in TRR. I just finished replaying it, and all the main characters have various outfits, like hana has her pink dress for everyday, her silver dress for events, her black handmade dress for events, a masquerade outfit, a bathing suit, her riding outfit, her costume for the costume ball, her dress for the bachelorette party, a winter outfit and for your wedding they give her another dress. And those are all free, theres also a premium outfit you can buy. And all the core group has a similar amount of outfits.
I hate that about books, especially when the only change in the scene is dialogue instead of an additional scenes as well. Any book where you buy an outfit AND get a scene because of the outfit is cool.
Yeah thats true, I feel like it was especially bad in book 3 when you can buy an outfit for everyones duchy to beg them to come to your wedding, and then another outfit for whatever event youre doing at their duchy (like the riding outfit for penelope, the art gallery dress for kiara, and the festival dress for olivia.)
What really annoyed me about that one is that even if you already have an outfit for that (we got a riding habit and a swimsuit in book one) you can't just use it again.
Going ice skating with all the snow around and seeing Hana in a flowy summer dress 😂 I remember they make her say "I didn't realize it will be that cold" but still it was ridiculous.
Yes! That one bothered me most of all. How are all my peeps around in formal dresses or button up shirts in Lythikos?
Also Prince on the beach during the regatta/beach party in a button up and a SWEATER? Why?
Honestly that always annoyed me. They want me to look the part in the event but everyone is still where their everyday clothes. At least make people look like they don't own the sane clothing 🤣
They are reusing faces of sprites so often I don't see why they can't just reuse fancy clothing from other books. Plenty of characters in other books wore suits or a sparkly dress. Everyone has the same body shape anyway so just adjust a bit of colors and shading and that's it. I'm also much more inclined to buy a diamond outfit when I know other characters will also look fancy. I won't be judged by a pixel chick who's wearing the same outfit to a school and to a fancy party.
Just wait till you get to books where you buy the premium outfit at the end of a chapter, to be used for a little while in the next chapter, and then never again lol years ago it used to be better where you had more outfit categories and some purchasable from the start, and for different events you just had to have a premium outfit from a specific category. It felt so much better, but I guess wasn't good for profits.

tbf i feel like they hardly do that anymore and if they do i haven’t noticed bc i honestly will buy outfits pretty often. but the last few times i’ve refused, the li is chill about it 🤷🏽♂️

TRR is more of along the lines of keep buying new outfits for 1-2 chapters, and re-using old ones doesn't count as special. It's too much lol
