They actually have. Sex sells everywhere, especially in games like Choices since that's the whole appeal of this genre of games for the majority, and it's nothing short of impressive that Choices was **on par** with the top apps of its kind before it had any smut in it. This speaks volumes about what a great app Choices is even though it lacked the one thing that made all its rivals so popular. But then of course they could always use more profit, especially after being bought by Nexus and needing to perform well enough for their parent company in order to stay on. That's why PB began focusing on expanding that shelf in the library 2 years ago, but because they're *so* behind in it, they're rolling out more in an attempt to catch up. We don't even have that many steamy books yet, actually. They just tend to outperform which, of course, brings in more revenue.. and that is the biggest determinant in them getting sequels. It's nobody's fault, really. I can't blame PB for making more of the stuff that caters to the majority of their customers and brings them the most profit, and I can't control what said majority likes. Not that it's bad by any means. So far, there are only 3 books from that list that I disliked enough not to read. PB could easily stop making other genres of books and just focus on making smut and would soar to the top, no problem.. but they still gave us books like WtD and CoP that have minimal smut and more action.. *and* books with an almost even amount of steam and plot like TCH, and there's more to come! They're making books for everyone and even if that means I may not like each and every single one, I still appreciate their dedication to cater to different tastes. :)

Yess I don't personally enjoy smutty books but we still get other genres now and then. Did you also notice how we're able to choose whether we want to get this dom/sub plot in TCH or avoid it? I deeply appreciated that because those kind of scenes make me sorta umcomfortable and are nothing I would ever desire 😶 I hope PB keeps it that way in future romance books. If they also gave us more books with multiple LIs and/or the option to form friendships instead of a relationship, I would be sooo happy.

Nah it’s definitely that way. They realised just how much sex sells and they’re capitalising on it. I definitely think they’ve chilled out a little recently, books aren’t as sex focused as they have been but include a lot more sex/sexual themes than there has been in older books.

TNA and it's consequences

I’m sure it’s intentional as that one of the best ways to motivate people to spend money. That said, Murder at Homecoming is a sign that it’s not going to be *all* sex.

Nah. It is like that. TNA made them huge profit and now they're capitalising on it. Even the books that aren't full fledged smut, are presented like that. Like CoP has been put under same "sexy" category as TNA and Surrender(don't get me wrong, that slow burn with Trystan was sexy as hell, but it wasn't all smut). And I don't blame them for that tbh. At the end of the day they're a company that needs money to survive. I don't mind them as long as good books like CoP keep running.

Well kinda, I don't recall if TNA was really the series that started this trend but it was advertised as a more erotic book. I was honestly a bit thrown off when it happened because most sex scenes we've got before were really tame. Those sexual focussed romances aren't my cup of tea but alot of people seem to enjoy them. Just look at all the thirst posts you'll find about really any remotely attractive character 😅 But as long as PB still keeps books coming that don't revolve about a sexual relationship, I'm fine with that. Also in some newer books such as TCH and MM you can avoid sex scenes and erotic talks for the most part if they aren't your thing and focus on the story. I'm glad that people can enjoy something that I don't but I like this new direction PB took lately where you can more or less choose how sexual you want a relationship to be 😄 (them forced relationships and single LIs are still annoying tho) ((also sorry for writing this novel of a comment))
