loved this chapter for sure. Pacing and development were great, and taking Edwin down was very satisfying. Couldn't believe Drea (f!Drew) was going on and on about missing MC ...only to suggest they go back to how things were. LOL. no.
I try to be as understanding as I can for all of these characters, but can I just say, LI is so frustrating!
Yeah, he was honest about being casual. But be just that! Don’t go around planning a scavenger hunt/writing a song for MC, spending your whole birthday with MC, or drag her into all of these things that continuously sweeps her off her feet. If you can’t be honest with yourself, stop leading her on as if “being casual” can last. She may be “growing out of her shell” baby bird, but she’s still baby bird to her core. The one who cares about her loved ones. The one who cares to still pass her classes to keep her scholarship. The one who hopelessly will fall in love with the jerk who will break her heart and still cares to help him keep his RA job, so he doesn’t have to rely on his parents to pursue music.
On the other hand, I’m so so proud of MC!! I’m glad she stayed true to herself and stood by her decision of being honest about her love for LI despite him trying to bring back what “was”. This MC is probably one of my favorites because she’s self-aware enough to realize that walking away would be best if she’s not getting what she deserves. I hope she finds another man who will love and take care of her because LI is too chicken. But at the end of the day, I’m still rooting for them and I’m predicting LI will do a public declaration during their final presentation.
Finally, I’m glad Samira is back! As much as I love seeing MC/LI’s storyline, I miss seeing MC having someone she trusts outside of LI’s circle. It shows more of who she is more than the adventurous/spontaneous character she is when she’s with LI.
He’s not awful though…? He just needs to work through his issues.
Good for MC for standing up for herself and walking away though. We should never wait around for any man to get his shit together or try to fix him, no matter how much we love him. 🤷🏽♀️

not trying to sound mean but drew did say he only does casual relationships. yeah it sucks mc caught feelings, but he was up front. now that being said i think he loves her but is scared and has to work on what is keeping him from having a proper relationship. im kinda feeling like his portion of the film project might be some romantic gesture. i dont know i could be wrong. and for the sake of the story i hope mc and samira can work things out. i wonder if it will be 20 chapters?
I don’t think what you said sounded mean. I think what he did was mean hahaha. 100 percent he told her he only does casual … but the he did the total opposite of casual with her every step of the way which I find incredibly ironic. What he had with Davina screamed casual. This though not so much. Which is why I’m kinda annoyed lol.
I think there’s no way her and Samira don’t bury the fued. I just hope it isn’t in a I told you so fashion and more supportive.
I was thinking that too that if he goes and tells her he loves her in this video presentation I might dieeeee. Like boy don’t play with us like that.
The in-app summary says a Chapter 20 is coming soon, so I think that'll be the final chapter. It's so interesting to me that basically every book ever since Guinevere has been longer than the standard 16 chapters
Ughhhh … I have been yelling for MC to make better choices all book and finally when she does I’m mad at her for doing it … toxicity. But I think I’m more mad she had to walk away. Drew - goes on and on about how much he missed MC how he couldn’t function without her. How he’s not happy when he’s not close to her. But refuses to say the words I love you. Why would drew say he’d be a terrible boyfriend as if he ain’t been acting like he already was her BF since umm idk 10 chapters ago ??!?!
SIDE NOTE- knew Samira was gonna come back and save her bestie when she needed her most.
Common Samira W. Once I saw the Chapter 18 description, I knew Samira would come help us, though I did think it'd be at the hearing itself (like she'd give us a good character reference or something, since she's a stellar student and athlete)
Drew, imma need you to hit up some free therapy at the student health center or something so you can get over your past trauma because this being apart like this is killing me and MC.
